Classic Italian/Greek restaurant owners; house passed down from generations. Dad is fisherman by trade and possibly the mom does flower arrangements which she sells for weddings and then on the evening they all work in the restaurant. I think a grandma would live with them too and possibly look after the home and then the child's room could be a nephew/nieces room who comes to see grandma on the weekend??
I'm not from Tuscany, but from Greece. One of the things that the Medditeranean countries share is their love for their homes. The fireplace for example is always in the middle in order to heat the whole house (in ours it's like that) and the landscape is always filled with flowers, trees... In my case, my grandfather built our family home back in 1970ish (i don't remember the year exactly) and I inherited it which means that hopefully our home will pass the 100 year mark. We have a big yard where we can do a barbeque and put a massive table. We also have a cherry tree, an apple tree and a peach tree. We also have a big garden and my (late) grandfather would plant all sorts of vegetables. Greece, Italy and Spain are well known for their fresh products and healthy diet so it is natural that the homes would have space for gardening and planitng. The house you built is classic Tuscan countryside style since the seaside ones are always more open, they have big windows that let the sea wind flow into the home - that is from my greek point of view. Hopefully my comment gives you a glimpse into meditteranean family homes.
Here’s a tip to figure out Mediterranean houses: always keep in mind that the house needs to be very cool for the summer and extra warm for the winter. How to do that? Small windows! Also, the houses need to be functional but seem really well cared for (gotta keep the nosy neighbours mouths shut). This means that you can have a barbecue but the portable ones that can go to the attic after you’re done. Use the ones that your sims can drag and drop into their inventories.
I actually stayed in Tuscany in college for a month on scholarship and I think the outside of the house is pretty accurate. Maybe a big more luxurious or very detailed like what you would find on a villa but it does look pretty accurate. As for the flooring, I mostly saw tile floors, and pretty much all terracotta. Sometimes they would have fancy painted tiles, but most of the time I saw terracotta. It did make me feel nostalgic to watch your build though and I can tell you researched it very well.
Love this build!!!! As for the bbq, Italians don’t seem to have them but when my bfs mom went to visit family in southern Italy all she could talk about was their outdoor ovens lol. So I guess that’s what they have instead?
In northern Italy people are obsessed with bbq, a lot of times in the summer we invite a lot of friends over and eat grilled food and drink beer all together. We also like to play table tennis or foosball in those occasions. But I think that in Tuscany or anything more south they don't do that as much tho.
Your builds are absolutely gorgeous, and have really inspired me to get back into building on the Sims 4. Honestly I can’t believe I haven’t found you sooner. x
I found your channel a few weeks ago - I just wanted to comment because you've been such a lovely find. First of all, I absolutely adore your builds, they're so inspiring and stunning - I only got the Sims for the first time last year. It was always something I wanted to play but my dad never allowed me to.. now I'm 25 and falling in love with building and your channel has been so inspiring and informative, showing me so many things I can build and create. Second of all, your personality and your voiceovers are genuinely my favourite part of your videos. I love hearing you talk, hearing your passion and the detail and love you put into your builds. I may have increased your watch time a bunch, because I struggle a lot with paranoia and nightmares and sleep paralysis and I've just moved out and I'm living by myself for the first time in my life, and when I'm struggling to sleep and feel safe, I put your playlists on because your voice is so gentle and calming and I know that content wise there won't be anything that'll trigger my paranoia. I know I'm just a stranger on the internet and it's unlikely you'll read this, but I just wanted to thank you for keeping me safe and looking after me and helping me sleep. I'm on my period rn and literally crying from gratitude as I'm typing this.. tonight's been a struggle night and I typed your name in and I already feel safer and calmer. You seem like such a genuinely lovely person and I hope that you get all your kindness returned to you tenfold 💕💕
Genuine tears in my eyes reading this 🥹 I’m speechless beyond words, I’m so happy that you find this amount of comfort from my videos, it means the world, and thank you so much for sharing this with me 🥹🤍🫶🏼
i think its fine and makes sense to call it research even if it feels a bit weird lol, its almost the same vibes as like "researching" to write fanfic for something (kind of a dumb comparison but you get what i mean hopefully)
I was strolling through RUclips videos and came across your Tuscany build. I got inspired after watching Under the Tuscan Sun and Letters to Juliet. You set the bar through the roof. You are more help than you know..cheers love
Italians do have bbqs and thermostats and acs but the one u made seems to be like an old country house, which isnt exactly the norm because most italians (even those who do live in the countryside) live in different houses, that are either modern, contemporary, midcentury etc. This one is more like 1800. So yeah it makes sense that there's not lots of modern amenities. Also usually these houses are inhabited by old people, they are not family homes for couples and their kids. Most times they are actually just farm houses because they come with lots of landspace. Also, if you're trying to go for a mediterranean style in Italy i have to recommend Sicilian architecture, as it has a lot of northern african, spanish and greek influence. Tuscany isn't exactly mediterranean, as it is a more country/farming oriented region. Overall great build tho! (Btw im from Italy so everything i say is from experience)
I'm crazy jealous of your roof-building skills! Your roofs always have me going 🤯... I agree with you about the roof edging, tho. I wish there were more textures than thatch. Lovely house, great landscaping, the custom "fence/bannister" pieces are phenomenal. Thanks for sharing!! 😊
I was living in old Italian house for a bit and I think this build is very accurate! We were mostly spending time at big balcony with barbeque, they also had a outside shower but I'm not sure that is common there. I got pretty nostalgic haha
Your videos and builds are so calming and just feel-good. Whenever I’m really stressed or want something comforting I come to watch one of these, the aesthetic, the voice over and the build, everything is so laid back, funny and enjoyable to watch. Thank you so much for making these videos!
You’re so talented, I wish more of the simming community will recognize your talent. I absolutely am obsessed with your builds! I often download them and create my own lil families for them inspired by your storytelling 🥹 I imagine a pair of grandparents raising their two granddaughters in this home, a teen and a child.
Wow. I will state that while I love and prefer TS3, TS4 does have a lot for us builders to chose from. The decor is great (however, expensive as all get out because of the dlcs) that’s the one redeeming factor and that I don’t need CC.
If you look at the map view of Tartosa it looks like a funny foot instead of a boot like Italy at least it does to me 😂 so in my eyes it’s a sims version of Italy 😍
I’ve started watching you at night before bed cause I find that listening to you talk about your builds and what you’re doing hells me to relax. I have very stressed tonight after my kitten got hurt today and you helped me to calm down enough to try and sleep. Thank you. 💖🇨🇦

This looks almost exactly like my grandparents’ house… we’ re not in tuscany, but in the north of italy, no Lake Garda, but still…. Amazing work! As always …
this build was absolutely beautiful! my italian husband's comments: 1. it is too open plan to be italian (he was surprised when you said most you saw were quite open plan!) 2. the house is not a seaside house style, it's more (as you said) tuscan countryside 3. the fireplace would historically be in a central space since these are old houses 4. usually these houses will have a wood oven outside instead of a bbq space since that's whats used more 5. the kitchen looked slightly anglo-saxon as they don't do islands as often, but looked well put together in the end 6. the big bathroom is still slightly small! :) but he did also say that he would live in this house, so i think you did well! ;) i looove it as well!

Your builds are always amazing it always inspires me to keep on building I say to myself "Katie one day you will make the perfect build" I just need to keep practicing it always makes it perfect and by watching you I get ideas on what to build next 😊
This is very pretty! We LOVE barbeque. Whenever the good weather comes around, during spring especially since it's not too hot, it's all you can smell in the air! We usually have those grills that you can store away when you don't use them, rarely people have the big fancy grills with a lid that you place in your backyard and just leave there. If they do they usually place them under a roofed area or something that protect them from the weather, we have pretty harsh winters up here in the north and summer showers are basically violent storms. If you can afford one and you have space in your garden we have fancy grills made out of stone that look like chimneys. :) Hope this was useful somehow. I never visited the south, but Tartosa reminds me of some places here in the north, like Lake Garda or the Adriatic shores.
joined your discord and almost screamed when i saw the notif for this build! i’ve been dreaming of a build like this! i planned on making one tomorrow so this has inspired me big time! hope you’re having a lovely week jessica! xxx
Love the build, beautiful as always My interpretation of the backstory: The house has two adult parents with one being a former celebrity called Giovanna (like one who people remember but isn’t really relevant anymore). This former celebrity competed in Eurovision like 10-20 years ago (using the grand piano) and they experienced success, appearing on TV on talent shows and having a few popular songs. She married her first husband and had a daughter- Bella. Then something changed, this celebrity experienced a major scandal and lost a lot of confidence with her singing. By this time, she had divorced her husband and went through several issues in the public eye. Now she’s since remarried to a successful businessman, Angelo. Angelo inspired her to get help for her issues. Giovanna is attempting a comeback and hopefully will be able to experience much deserved success. They also have Giovanna’s mother live with them as they are helping her recover from a house fire.
