Also, I'm pretty sure the Star wars ship guns arent as powerful as the covenant. The sheer diameter of the shots from the plasma torpedo the covenant used to wipe out UNSC ships is shown in the halo cinematics to be dozens of times larger than a star wars bolt, so the Star wars ships would likely require a sustained volley on individual targets to eliminate them, rather than the one shot potential the covenant plasma weapons enjoyed.
it's earth defense fleet, facing an ennemy with a technological superiority and space wizard... they'll take anything they have to put down their ennemy...
Nanomachines Son! They are extremely skilled in this field but they are extremely destructive in little payloads. They have a bomb that is 1.2 peta tons in yield.
You do forget to mention a very important fact. Most if not all UNSC ships have very powerful point defense cannons, and numerous duel cannon turrets especially effective Against fighters and other ships of similar size.
If you read the book "Halo: The Fall of Reach" during the battle of Sigma Octanus the MACs of the UNSC were able to disable covenant shields with a single shot. Smaller ships of the covenant would typically die after 1 or 2 additional MAC volleys impacting the hull. The home fleet certainly would have weapons just as powerful at the UNSC force at Sigma Octanus(maybe even more powerful). Additionally the UNSC had learned to stagger their volleys from the MACs. The first half of the fleet would fire their MACs and take down shields. Once the shields were down the second half of the fleet would fire and tear through the hulls of hostile covenant ships. I think the bulk of the rebel fleet would have been decimated by the staggered volley of the UNSC. Rebel turbo laser would tear through UNSC frigates, however the UNSC cruisers would likely survive. UNSC cruisers had strong honeycomb armor and were capable of taking multiple hit from covenant plasma. I think they could handle the turbo lasers of the rebels at least for awhile. UNSC frigates would die in the first exchange while the cruisers would survive long enough to get a second round of MACs off. If they get the second volley away I think they cripple what remains of the rebel fleet, also remember the UNSC had archer missiles on all of their ships to provide firepower during the MAC recharge. It would be a bloody battle but the UNSC would have emerged victorious here.
Actually, Covenant shielding take at least two shots if not three from MAC rounds before they fail and a single MAC round can penetrate the the hull of a Covenant ship which is why the Pillar of Autumn was unique that it can take out Covenant ships (Can't remember which ones but they'd probably be about the same size and probably a little bigger than the Autumn) with the three rounds they can charge up.
@@invayde7902 Pillar of Autumn had a weaker MAC (fired lighter rounds) but compensated with being able to fire 3 in quick succession. A regular MAC only needed one hit to disable shields.
@@wolfxda94 I would like you to remind me if MAC rounds, despite being weaker, could punch through the hull of a covenant ship. (When the shield is already down)
Crimson159 yes, a MAC round would usually go through port to starboard it could fail and at going all the way through from stem to stern. That is way they used a two shot volley when opening the attack against the covenant. The first shot would disable shields the second would hopefully critically damage the ship.
"They weren't able to destroy both CAS class carriers" You have to remember that two CAS class carriers is like a fleet on its own. Much less the CCS cruisers escorting them. Taking down a CAS carrier in halo is like taking down a Allegiance SSD in star wars. The only covenant ship more dangerous in the halo universe is the CSO class super carrier. And I should point out that the CSO is about twice the size of the executor SSD.
I will say I think you forgot to mention the immense number of missile pods that every single UNSC ship has along with their nukes that they are able to launch. Let's not forget about all of the ships having 50mm dual barrel point defense weapons. This includes the frigates as you can see in Halo Reach which depicted a frigate with quite a few of them. I would say that the frigates could act as fighter defense in conjunction with frontline assault for the larger cruisers and command ships and you also have to remember that the frigates are quite small and nimble as well as being fast in general. I think you underrated how much that could play a part in the combat of these two. Also while these ships may not have anything in terms of shielding and will certainly struggle to tank a glassing cannon to the face, you may have also underrated the fact that they can still tank quite a bit of damage due to how the internal structure of the ships allow them to stay fighting fit for quite sometime. I know the Halcyon might be a special case but that thing singlehandedly managed to take on multiple covenant ships at once by itself and managed to destroy a few before going down. The destruction of those ships had to do with it's specialised MAC but it definitely was durable for it to be facing as many ships as it did and still be in one piece. I would imagine those Marathons and especially that Valiant class cruiser can take a much more substantial beating and keep dishing out quite a bit of damage and then there's that heavy carrier which you can easily tell by looking at it can take quite a serious beating while still managing to fight. Now I'm not saying the UNSC would win, but I think you missed a lot of details that would have made this battle a lot closer than you think. I mean each frigate alone has 1500 archer missiles in total. And it has been proven that these missiles are capable of taking down covenant shields when launched in great numbers. And say what you want about a ship's point defense systems, I don't think they will take down that many missiles, or even half that if targeted by a salvo. These missiles will damage the particle shields and allow the MACs to have an easier time in penetrating if used in conjunction with the missiles. I mean the combined missile payload of the frigates alone is 105,000. That's more than enough to take down the shields of a fair number of ships. Even if it takes 3000-4000 missiles per ship, which is outrageous considering the smaller ships would not be tough enough to tank that much, they would still have a bit of leg room for a few other threats considering their capitol ships have thousands of missiles each. At very least 3000 per marathon and up. So I think you missed out on a big part of the opening salvo as well as the late game with the Nukes that every single UNSC ship carries. This isn't at all a cakewalk for the rebels. At very least it should be a close fought struggle with the rebels barely pulling it out.
Indeed. I would also add that the fighter ships differ a lot in their styles for combat. Star wars fighter combat techniques rely more on swarm attacks than UNSC because most of the space combat against covenant happened between frigates and corvettes with UNSC using their fighters as tactical nuclear bombers as last resort if the nuke missiles didnt work. UNSC could sacrifice 50 Broadswords sending them loaded with nukes against the swarm of 600 A Y X and B wings and take most out while the rebel fighter swarm is still saving the distance towards the UNSC fleet. And if some of those Broadswords manages to drop nukes in the middle of the rebel fleet battlegroups it would do a lot of damage or at least take out some shields with EMP effect.
I won't deny the Rebellion's advantage in small-ships. Those are a terrifying threat to capital ships. As well as the ion cannons and bombs. But Kaelin makes a valid point. The UNSC is missile-happy. Each Marathon carrying roughly 3000 anti-ship missiles and five fusion rockets, and each Stalwart carrying 480 Archers, and 76 Streak missile pods. There is little information on the Streaks, though, so I will assume those are more interceptor missiles than anti-ship. And this doesn't even mention the Shiva nuclear missiles. On Reach, we got to watch the UNSC Savannah make a close pass at the Covenant corvette, utilizing her six starboard-side point defense turrets. These are twin mounted 50mm autocannons. Stalwarts had only six turrets, but those with the (assumed) Streak interceptor missiles, combined with the point-defense of the Marathons, would make any pilot nervous. I can understand Eckhart removing the ODPs from the equation. It gives the Rebellion a fighting chance. Otherwise the Rebellion would be kept well outside effective engagement range. The Mark V Super-MAC fires a 3000 ton ferric-tungsten slug at 12000 km/sec. This delivers 36x10^12 N of force. Don't care how strong the shielding on the Moncal cruisers is, it cannot withstand that much kinetic energy. "Against Covenant shield technology, the rounds possess enough kinetic energy to punch through shields, cut through the ship, and, upon exit, still retain enough energy to destroy a second ship, and cripple a third ship."
I disagree. I think a few big things being forgotten: The massive number of missiles the UNSC ships use, which are also very good anti-fighter, the point defense systems of UNSC ships, also the Nukes. Those should be very effective against the various ships and fighters. The nukes should be able to disable the shielding on the ships. Also I would really say that the covenant ships are much better than general star wars ships, they also have much longer engagement ranges too.
Andrew Bidulock when detonated they'd emp plus the unsc were very good at taking down covenant shields by the end of the war, the rebel fleets shields wouldn't be much different
In the star wars legends there are limited cases of the use of nuclear weapons. However one battle springs to mind, the battle over Outbound Flight. Thrawn used small nuclear weapons in combination with conventional weapons to wipe out the Outbound Flight. Said ship consisted of 6 dreadnaught class republic warships. Because his fighters were able to get past the shields and armor the nuclear devices went off inside both the armor and the shields. Meaning the shock wave would have bounced back on itself at least twice multiplying the force many times over. If the UNSC managed to infiltrate the rebel flag ships then they would destroy them very thoroughly. If the UNSC boarded the rebel vessels and turned it into a brawl there superior close quarter combat training and general military experience would give them a massive edge over the poorly trained rebel infantry. That’s not even mentioning how Master Chief was a part of the Earth defense fleet and we all know what he is capable of. That’s not even bringing up the orbital defense platforms ringing Earth.
Lol what? You clearly don't partake at all in debates about these two factions, because sorry, but SW ships completely destroy the Halo-verse in terms of raw power and technological prowess.
Time to do my annoying thing again :D *Marathon Class Heavy Cruiser* Weapons: Two Magnetic Accelerator Cannons, 30 Archer missile pods (1,800 Archer missiles), 50mm Point-defense guns, Five fusion rockets. Strikecraft complement: 24 GA-TL1 Longswords (plus hornets and pelicans) *Stalwart Class Light Frigate* Weapons: 1 56A2D4 MAC, 16 M58 Archer missile pods, 76 M340A4 Streak missile pods (anti-fighter), 6 M870 Rampart point defense guns, 52 M710 Bulwark point defense guns. Strikecraft Complement: ~6 Pelicans, unsure of Longsword. *Charon-class light frigate* Weapons: 1 Mark II, Light Coil - 83B6R3/MAC, 50 M58 Archer missile Pods (30 per pod), 4 twin M870 Rampart 50mm point defense guns, 3 M4093 Hyperion nuclear delivery system Silos (Questionable). Strikecraft Complement: Can hold a Longsword (Apparently). ~12 Pelicans (Most likely not just in hangars). *Epoch Class Heavy Carrier* Weapons: 1 56A2F9 light MAC (rapid fire capable), 2 Mark 15 Breakwater coilguns (tri-barrel forward turrets), 12 M66 Sentry autocannons, 20 M4020 Bident missile pods (long-range anti-ship missile fitted with a nuclear-pumped x-ray laser), 70 M58 Archer missile pods, 12 M870 Rampart point defense guns. Strikecraft Complement: 36 dropships, 24 space fighters (^Holy shit those weapons! Why didn't the UNSC develop more of these [aside from the obvious later canon addition]?)
Forgot one *Valiant-class super-heavy cruiser* Weapons: (2?) Magnetic Accelerator Cannons, Archer missile pods (2,400 missiles), 50mm point-defense guns, an amount of Shiva-class nuclear missiles. Strikecraft: GA-TL1 Longswords, D77-TC Pelican dropships. (^We know little numbers on the Valiant. In all honesty, what we know about the Valiant points to there being no standardized layout as far as systems and complement goes, even weapons specifications are up in the air.)
Cinnamon toast gaming frankly forerunners would curb stomp the empire, because of hard light, contender class AI, and quick and precise slipspace navigation
@@cjthenarhwalking1378 thats where his death woukd be pathetic as thrawn would know he woukd resort into that si ce he studies all kinds of races and he said humans are persistent and will do anything desperate
He also forgot the UNSC tactic against shielded ships where they fire a volley of Archer Missiles and Shiva Nukes that disables shields and then they MAC the enemy ship.
Hey eckhartsladder a thing I've noticed u have missed on every u.n.s.c video is the nukes and archer missiles even the smallest u.n.s.c frigot will have dozen's of nukes and hundreds of archer missiles. U know the strength of nukes, but when a single u.n.s.c ship unloaded all it's archer missiles could take out the shields of any cavonet ship smaller the 10 kilometers. That added with the point defence guns mean by by most ships.
I just read Ghost of Onyx and specifically the Archer missile just sputtered on Covenant shields and the real damage dealer we got was from MAC Barrage point blank range. Slugs went thru those shields like butter.
9:41 It took 2 smaller MACs to take down a covenant cruiser's shields. One large Mac round from cruisers could take down a shield as well. On the Pillar of Autumn, they traded the single large mac cannon for a new style triple cannon. It could fire three small Mac rounds in succession, the first two would take the shields down and the third would punch through the hull. This is why the UNSC needed a 3 to 1 numerical advantage to win battles. Every battle would entail the 'first salvo' where the covenant ships would launch plasma torpedos and the human ships would launch macs. They would cross space and collide. Ship AIs did t heir best to coordinate shots to try to take out as many covenant ships in the first salvo as possible, because a good chunk of the fleet wouldn't be able to function well enough after the covenants rounds hit. The unsc made clever use of chemical thrusters and such to 'jump' out of the way of the plasma torpedos but this wasn't always effective. Captains of crippled ships offered up there hull as extra armor for ships still in the fight. In one battle they utilized massive mobile repair docks as 'shields' for engagements where they hid their fleet behind it after the first salvo, so they could get off a second salvo at their full strength. haha I got carried away, I love the Halo fleet battles....
I'm sorry but I respectfully disagree. Other times when you have put the UNSC against Star Wars factions I held my silence due to the fact that I for the most part agree with the final outcome although I think the UNSC could do more damage then you give them credit for. The most important thing that you left out is the UNSC Supply of nuclear weapons. I admit that at the end of the war these weapons were in short supply but given the importance of the Earth this Fleet probably had several if not more. Also there's the fact that you never talked about UNSC AI units. With the Star Wars universe having droids that play active roles in the military on several occasions I think the USC smart AI deserve to be mentioned. Another thing is the strategy commonly used by the UNSC to bypass Covenant Shields was one a few soldiers wood launch themselves into space caring a bomb bored the enemy ship and then detonate. Another thing you never seen to bring up is how exposed and vulnerable the hangar Bay of a Star Wars ship seems to be during battle. With all these factors put together I think that while admittedly the UNSC would take catastrophic losses probably 70 percent or more of their Fleet I think When the Smoke Settles that they would be the survivors.
Neil still in the end He didnt even talk about The bombers of the rebels which are really powerful X wings and a wings would destroy The unsc Fighters easily but He just talked about ship to ship comabt and no Fighter combat and if The unsc shot its nuclear bombs The Star wars fighters would just shot them cause they would be near The frigates and heavy cruisers
Lmao what? Nuclear bombs while extremely power and probably strong enough to destroy fighters, I doubt would be able to reach a capital ship with volleys of turbo laser fire. (Though its possible). And Hangar bays can be closed. This is a battle between ships, not other random factors such as suicide bombers and hangar raiding. Droids didn't play an active role in the Endor fleet either because the Rebel Alliance didn't have access to them. They recruited across the galaxy gathering people to their cause. even the Empire didn't use droids in military roles. Mainly just the CIS. And how would a soldier board the ship anyway? Directly through the hangar? Eh.
One thing you neglected to mention for UNSC armaments is that they mostly come equipped with Archer missile pods, Shiva Warheads, and a single confirmed NOVA bomb as seen in Halo: First Strike.
I think this was an interesting matchup but a slightly poor choice in fleets. I think the human fleet post covenant war would be a better match up since it's a fleet at full strength. Matching a halo fleet on its last leg without its super MAC cannon platforms vs a full strength rebel fleet seems like an easy win for the rebels. Interesting video enjoyed it but would love to see a matchup again with the UNSC not using a crippled navy
Zachary Evans honestly he's usually bad at halo lore for these vs matchups, almost always underpowered them, I love both universes but most match ups halo would win
love these videos man, however I agree with some others in the comments who believe you don't do quite enough research on these topics, especially with halo, where in you do more guess work than is necessary as there is a large wealth of life to draw from. it's generally agreed upon that the rebel fleet at endor wasn't very large, the home fleet at earth was sizable however they would obviously have lost many ships. One thing to consider is that the unsc home fleet did have at least several marathon class cruisers, marathon cruisers possessed shields, and marathons when destroyed were known to explode in such a manner as that they would take out many of the ships around them. Also you mention how easy the covenants initial invasion demolished the unsc home fleet, the initial invasion by the covenant suffered heavy losses, once they came into contact with the unsc they made a mad dash to make it to the surface and the carrier being the only ship to make it through eventually fled. the home fleet is stronger than you give it credit for. the rebel ships would have had an overall technological advantage, especially in regards to shields. a supermac however could go through covenant capital ships with a single shot regardless of shields, though and exception could possibly be made for the assault carriers. a marathon cruiser if engaging rebel ships at close range, perhaps even broadside were to be destroyed would likely destroy or severely damage any rebel ships in its vicinity. I would say that it would absolutely be a close battle. mom calamari shielding technology would be the biggest hurdle for the unsc to overcome, however if the unsc focused their marathon cruisers against the mom calamari capital ships in a sort of kamakzi run, trying to get as close as possible and unload as much as they can, said ships being destroyed at such close range would most definitely cripple the mom calamari ships regardless of shielding. I would get into weapons systems and such you havntg mention but other commentors have mentioned those so I don't feel the need. overall though I still love these videos and keep it up.
This battle was focused on a skirmish between the 2 fleets, not an alliance invasion of earth. The orbital platforms were, of course, orbital and thus were not part of the UNSC Fleet Edit:He also says that this happens at a neutral location at 0:31
I feel like it would of made sense to include the orbital macs and have the fight around earth as the rebel force was an attack force and the halo force was a defense force
Why do I imagine that the battle will have Sabaton playing over it? Like Price of a Mile, Cliffs of Gallipoli, or Diary of an Unknown Soldier/Lost Battalion.
Imperial Mapper Real talk. Warhammer 40K will always remain beyond OP 😎 Inb4 Imperial Guard's Elysian Drop troops vs. GAR's 212th Attack Battalion but we all know the answer here lol
Krieg duh because they were born into war, trained to the core to execl in war and finally to fight on and on until they finally meet their end serving the emperor of mankind and doing their job plus their weapons are OP like everything else in Warhammer 40K
EckhartsLadder---I wish you'd make a video involving one of my suggestions. I've made plenty of suggestions before and now one acknowledges them. They don't even get a single like. It's damn frustrating. I feel like, I'm in a loud crowded room and no one is hearing a thing I have to say. Have you even seen any of my suggestions. I put a lot of thought into them. Are they any good? If not tell me, Why at least?
Like the analysis here and if you are wondering the rebel alliance in Star Wars seem to operate like World War II and present the u.s. Navy carrier group with the CR-90 corellian corvette acting as the air defense escort for the big ships the MC-80 star Cruisers which would mean that the United Nations space command from the Halo Universe has to detonate a nuclear warhead in front of the corellian Corvette to take out the big Starships MC-80 mon calamari star cruiser. If the Corvettes are still standing the United Nations space command would have suffered heavy losses to their Broadswords Shortswords and Sabers to the CR-90 corvette or Nebulon B frigate laser cannons in addition to shielded Star Wars starfighters which the Rebel Alliance uses they are A-Wing B-wing Y-wing & X-wing.
Covenant fleet [adding Home One and Admiral Ackbar (Battle of Endor) leading it] VS UNSC [adding Chimaera and Grand Admiral Thrawn (from Legends) leading it].
It would be far closer in my opinion. Star Wars would likely still win but not as much as you think. As many ships as possible were outfitted with nukes near the end, or at least as many as they could spare or get their hands on. Nit to mention the hail of archer missiles as well as a few hundred point defence guns which are effective on smaller ships. The UNSC would do a lot more damage than you give them credit maybe not enough to win every time but it would be a more even fight. Covenant liked to swarm ships with banshees so their point defence guns would make short work of a lot of fighters. Also after the MAC only the MAC needs to recharge, it's missiles and other weapons would still be kicking. On a final note capital ship MACs have been kmown to shred through covenant ships especially smaller ones since the bigger the ship the bigger the pay load of the mac that is used. Also as a last little side note, home fleet have over a hundred ships, all with macs. If you add that all uo that's over 5000 gigatons or 5 Teratons worth of payload heading at one fleet. The bigger ships sure the could take that with shields and their hulls but the small ships no, smaller Star Wars ships like frigates would stand a chance with that amount of energy hurled at them. Again I still feel in the end Star Wars would win (comimg from a halo fan) but it would certainly be a hard fought victory for them. Also someone in the comments mentions a nova bomb if they had that then damn bye Star Wars fleet haha.
The Nova bomb brings up a very good point. He already said it is no longer near Earth and taking away home fleets super Mac stations. Meaning the UNSC has nothing to lose by detonating nova bombs they don't have to worry about destroying Earth or a human colony. In the end it's definitely going to be much closer than what he puts it as.
I think you need to adjust your measurements a bit. You left out Archer missiles and nukes. ANd UNSC ships are known to self destruct which have been shown to be able to take out a few Covenant ships. Assuming as you said those are about equal to Rebel ships then a suicidal destroyer takes out a Nebulon in martyrdom. Many of these fleet battles seem like civil war style stand and shoot scenario, gotta mix that up.
Where is battle group Stalingrad? Its part of the Home fleet too. It is composed of a carrier, a cruiser, and 6 destroyers. And you left out the Archer missiles, 50 mm point defense guns, and nukes that was on every ship in the UNSC. And I think you have a wrong perspective on UNSC frigates, they aren't just cannon fodders, they are built to be fast, anti-fighter, and quick reaction force, they can maneuver around in a fleet battle, taking out lone targets or suppressing ships with combined fire power with other frigates. Frigates can also take multiple beatings unless its hit in the key parts or the bridge (take UNSC commonwealth for example)(Though its not mentioned in canon, but I think UNSC frigate's role before the war is kind of like a star destroyer, one is enough to keep a system under check and suppress rebels activity, but that's just assumption)
Little note you probably know this by now but the unsc had 10 other ships that were confirmed to be there with 3 of the 5 other fleets having no named ships or even the numbers of then but the 7th fleet Is seen in halo 3 and is 3 charon class light frigates including the forward unto dawn and a battle group there had 8 ships 2 being Marthathon class heavy cruisers which were in critical condition so we can assume the ships else in there fleet also served a long time so I'd say either 6 stalwart class frigates or Paris class heavy frigates
Just one correction. It doesn’t take 3-5 shots to take out covenant shields. It’s said more than once that a typical MAC can down the shields on small - medium covenant ships in one or two shots, three if they’re unlucky. Another one or two to disable/destroy depending on shot placement.
I've got some good ideas! *1.* 100 Blockade Runners VS 1 Alligiance Star Destroyer *2.* Tyrant Heavy Missile Cruiser VS World Devistator *3.* Aclemator Class Assult Ship VS Nebulon B Frigate *4.* Droid Control Ship VS Scarif Shield Gate *5.* Tie Phantom VS Tie Defender *6.* Imperial Class 3 Star Destroyer VS First Order Recergence Star Destroyer
The brutes are taller, stronger, and they have better technology. Wookies flies in helicopters of bambú. One example, compare chewbaca with atriox hahah very very unfair.
They are Lucky We Don't have Shields. After the Battle of Earth, we did get energy shields. Also Nova Bombs..... Also, Chief comes in out of nowhere near the end.. just like in canon,
Wasn't a fan of this matchup. I don't think I need to say that it felt tilted in one sides favor. Traditionally I don't notice any bias in your videos, and I'm not sure if that's the case with this one but perhaps it could have been thought out a little bit better. Considering the UNSC home fleet was supposed to be larger than the one at reach, and from what I recall the UNSC Fleet at reach numbered almost 150 ships, with well over three dozen Capital ships compared to the measly 10 you gave here. Not to mention the lack of any exotic human weapons such as, oh I dont know, nukes? Nuclear weapons were a huge part of UNSC strategy at this point with in the timeline, and would have been at least effective enough to benefit the UNSC in this battle. As with recent additions to the Halo lore, which to be fair you may not have known of as of this video, we aren't even talking about your standard nuclear weapons, but the UNSC took advantage of X-ray pumped nuclear bombs as well. Surely those should be effective against most Star Wars vessels.
Nah he was compering it when the UNSCwere already at the end of the Human covenant war And normally the unsc would have had alot more but it got reduced as the human covenant war continued
Here's my list again. 1) Resurgent class Battlecruiser vs Infinity class Super Carrier 2) Behemoth class Battlecruiser from StarCraft vs Venator Star Destroyer 3) Rogue Squadron vs Inferno Squadron 4) Harrower class Dreadnaught vs Venator Star Destroyer 5) Resurgent class Battlecruiser vs Executor class Super Star Destroyer 6) Shadow vessel vs Imperial Star Destroyer 7) Starfury vs Tie Fighter 8) 2-M Repulsor Tank vs Armored Assault Tank
One major thing I think that needs to be taken into account are the Archer missiles. From my knowledge the Alliance doesn't have CWIS to stop the missiles. I honestly think they could change the tide because they are used ON MASS.
In my opinion you should have taken the orbital Mac stations, because as you said the earth fleet was the congiunction of all the forces in earth orbit/space, so they where part of the earth fleet
Honestly I’m surprised you went with the rebel fleet at Endor, personally I would have gone with their fleet while attacking kuat drive yards or their fleet at jakku.
I thought this was a well done video! I agree with the whole Star Wars having an advantage through their armaments being energy lasers, which is similar to the Covenant's plasma based weapons. However, all UNSC frigates carry 3 nuclear missiles (their own type of missile opposed to a regular Archer) and someone brought this up already, essentially spam missiles to get rid of their opponents shields and then MAC them. I would argue that the smaller rebel craft screening the capital ships could be obliterated by the missile spam. But this is all nuances and with things like this it can be spun in a dozen directions. Looking forward to the Solo podcast.
If the 300 Orbital Defense Platforms, or Super MAC's, were included in this battle, if would hands down go to the UNSC. 300 super MAC platforms firing every couple of seconds (because Super MAC's reload and recharge much faster than ship based MAC's) would decimate the rebel fleet no matter how strong or redundant Mon Calamari shields are.
In the Empire strikes back a Star Destroyers bridge section is destroyed when struck by an asteroid during the search for Millennium Falcon. Highly doubt that asteroid was made of tungsten, and was accelerated to near the speed of light prior to impact. The shielding on Star Wars ships is not on the same level as Covenant warships. UNSC M.A.C. gun rounds would tear through those alliance ships shields, and then the ships themselves with little to no drop off in forward velocity after initial impact. Could probably damage or outright destroy multiple ships with a single round if lucky enough to have the correct firing angle. The Rebel Alliance fighters might pose more of an issue for the UNSC, but ultimately still be defeated do to lack of capital ship fire support. No way the Aliance wins this one. Maybe against a foe like the Concordia Battle Group from Wing Commander, but nothing in Halo lore.
You're forgetting that those ships were in the asteroid field for days looking for the Falcon. Their shields were whittled away by asteroids the entire time. We just see the one that finally took out the shields and bridge. I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just saying that they could potentially stand up to 1... maybe 2 MAC rounds. He is, however, forgetting Archer Missles and Point Defence 50mm cannons.
hate to be that guy but the unsc at earth. during the battle actually had 400 paris class, 95 cruisers most marithon and like 5 carriers with thousands of long swords
lol no the unsc had shields on all of it's updated ships after the battle of reach and the earth home defense fleet all had shields, and you are forgetting that about the only pilots that the rebels had that can shoot a missiles down are rouge squadron and even some of them had a hard time with this, you may ask why is this relevant it is relevant cause the longswords have very long range missiles, and they could fire them way before the effective range of an x-wing.
I don't actually know when the protos/starcraft came out (so it might be the other way round) but I feel like the protoss a rip of of elites. The beckward bending legs, the double plasma blades. I dunno
You miss two details: The firsth one is, all Halo Longswords can carry at least one Shiva Nuclear Warhead, it has most of 300 Nuclear Warheads, and the Main Carriers can carry more shiva's. The second one is about the Pelican Gunship, all the UNSC ships have a group of this ones, specially for a space battles. I belive the UNSC wins this hard battle, but thats my opinion
If you need more information on Halo ships I suggest the Sins of The Prophets wiki or the game. Also, I noticed you never factor in the UNSC ships having nukes and Archer missile pods, the Marathons have 2 MAC cannons.
Um, actually.... A long time ago in ancient reference guides and Expanded Universe content, it was established that Particle Shield tech did not scale up well, and so while fighter sized ships did have both ray and particle shields, it was simply too cost prohibitive in every way to equip larger ships with particle shields. Which explains every instance we see in the movies where ships/missiles pass through shields, such as the Falcon docking onto the back of a Star Destroyer, and a couple of A-wings taking out the Executor's bridge shield generator, despite the shield still being up. The vulnerability of large Star Wars ships to kinetic weapons is well established and taken as fact throughout the EU, especially the games like Empire At War, where torpedoes bypassing shields is a key tactical advantage of bombers, and frankly is the only reason bombers in Star Wars have any purpose at all. I mean come on, look at the bomber attack on the dreadnought in The Last Jedi, you expect me to believe that single bomber had the firepower on board to take out a dreadnought's shields and then still have enough to blow a whole in it's armor to hit the magical weak spot? Or did the dreadnought magically not have shields at all, cause plot? Yes, particle shields exist in Star Wars, they just weren't used as primary shields on any large ship.
I love watching these videos, though I feel like you forgot to mention that UNSC ships were armed with SHIVA nuclear warhead missiles, other than that it's a great video.
Yep and probably not take as many casualties as the Republic, considering the UNSC knows how to fight a battle & a war. They'd definitely use orbital bombardments on heavily fortified installations instead of sending in thousands to die and Spartan IIs & even IIIs would slaughter battle droids & Geonosian fighters.
It depends on whether or not they're powerful enough to get through them, especially since the Odyssey won't have a ZPM. With the ZPM they were able to easily rip through Ori shields within 4-5 shots and even tank half a dozen or 9 shots from the Ori Motherships before failing. Without a ZPM powering both the shields, engines, weapons & other systems, I think the Odyssey would have a tougher time getting through an Imperial-II's shields, though they'll probably still get through in under an hour. The railguns might do some damage to the SD's hull, but the APBs would tear through it in a heartbeat.
This might be a bit one sided but I think it sounds interesting: The KOTOR Sith Empire at its highest under Revan and/or Malaks rule vs The Galactic Empire at either its height or at the beginning.
Idea: Ground based troop combat. Marine vs either storm or rebel troopers. Scorpion tank vs walkers. Or all out ground war: random planet all ground units, no air or orbital support. I like the video, not so much the result of the combat.
There were 4 fleets at Earth, most likely around 300 UNSC ships I'd say roughly 24 Marathon Class Heavy Cruisers, 3 Epoch Class Carriers, 3 Halcyon Class Cruisers, 200 Frigate/Destroyers(Halberd, Charon, Stalwart and Paris classes), 70 Corvettes(Gladius and Mako classes)
Spartan commandos would've been seen as a new breed of stormtrooper with formidable combat powers Admiral Ackbar and Mon Mothma would be captured and suffer a lethal teabagging
By the way I'd recommend you wait till Halo: Warfleet is released, as it'll be a comprehensive guide for halo ships, which will be released on the 5th of September
the infinity had forerunner shielding and a forerunner slipspace drive and a forerunner power source, so the infinity would win by a landslide, cause it was the same size as the executer and it had really powerful supermac's.
I think the SSD would be shredded because, you know, forerunner technology is at the levels of the Celestials. It could just crash through the SSD with little to not damage.
Awesome M book or movie? Also fleet, or ground forces? Depending on your choice, the outcome can be vastly differently. For example, book M.I. would be at very least equal, if not even superior to the O.D.S.T. Movie M.I.... well, about as challenging as insurrectionists, but likely in larger numbers.
The UNSC has 3 types of missles Archer Missles, Howler missles Shiva nuclear missles, Hyperion nuclear missles, there's many missles and nuclear mines and stuff the UNSC has. Also each ship has multiple M910 point defense cannon on the ship that can fire hundreds of rounds at the Rebel fighters. The mac guns recharge time is really debateable because if the unsc divert some of there or all there reactor power to charging the guns it can take little time to charge and fire the guns. They also have nukes which could disable or destroy the Rebel fleet but also damage there ships (depending on the distance of the fleets between each other.)

EckhartsLadder dude look at the vote for the unsc
+random guy ah interesting!
I think you might have forgotten about missiles and SHIVAs... The UNSC typically timed missiles to hit w/ the MACs.
EckhartsLadder covenant invasion fleet from reach vs separatist fleet
Sooooo........ did the UNSC completely forget that missiles and nukes exist?
Also, I'm pretty sure the Star wars ship guns arent as powerful as the covenant. The sheer diameter of the shots from the plasma torpedo the covenant used to wipe out UNSC ships is shown in the halo cinematics to be dozens of times larger than a star wars bolt, so the Star wars ships would likely require a sustained volley on individual targets to eliminate them, rather than the one shot potential the covenant plasma weapons enjoyed.
Nanomachines Son! They used missles, but MAC cannons are a lot more powerful.
Ships also carried 2or3 nukes, but the EMP makes using them dangerous
it's earth defense fleet, facing an ennemy with a technological superiority and space wizard... they'll take anything they have to put down their ennemy...
Nanomachines Son! They are extremely skilled in this field but they are extremely destructive in little payloads. They have a bomb that is 1.2 peta tons in yield.
star wars ships have particle shields for a reason
You do forget to mention a very important fact. Most if not all UNSC ships have very powerful point defense cannons, and numerous duel cannon turrets especially effective Against fighters and other ships of similar size.
AND the MAC’s recharge in 5-10 seconds not minutes
Not to mention ship ai’s
@@invayde7902 It take about 3 frigate mac to down a shield, but the bigger ship mac are stronger so it take less shot to do the job.
Wait a minute, twice the size? If the CSO is 18 miles long, how many miles is the Executor?
The Executor is about 11 miles long. It is a little over half the size of a CSO.
11 miles THANK YOU! You have no idea how long I've been trying to get an answer for that.
No problem.
The Executor is 11 kilometers long, the cso is 18 kilometers long
I will say I think you forgot to mention the immense number of missile pods that every single UNSC ship has along with their nukes that they are able to launch.
Very thorough info here. I definitely felt like there were UNSC details missing here that made this a closer battle.
Just destroy the nuke
Kaelin the Sergal Dragon b-wings are very dangerous just because they use pretty long range missiles u know + they have shields and high speed
Can the Covenant invade Coruscant?
Can someone find out how big their defense fleet was? I have heard it range from 20 to 100 to 600 and that's not very helpful
The Galactic Empire vs. The Covenant? I'm game for that!
Then we shall use the fleet of Particular Justice!
Republic or imperial age?
Either one? Which one could possibly stand a chance?
I disagree. I think a few big things being forgotten: The massive number of missiles the UNSC ships use, which are also very good anti-fighter, the point defense systems of UNSC ships, also the Nukes. Those should be very effective against the various ships and fighters. The nukes should be able to disable the shielding on the ships.
Also I would really say that the covenant ships are much better than general star wars ships, they also have much longer engagement ranges too.
erickyboo the nuke can be destroyed by laser cannon
Andrew Bidulock when detonated they'd emp plus the unsc were very good at taking down covenant shields by the end of the war, the rebel fleets shields wouldn't be much different
High concentrations of ionizing radiation and pilots generally don't mix.

The Forerunners (Halo) vs the star wars galaxy (at the height of imperial control). Could the forerunners invade the star wars galaxy
Cinnamon toast gaming frankly forerunners would curb stomp the empire, because of hard light, contender class AI, and quick and precise slipspace navigation
Forerunners automatically stomp most peoples in just about every franchise except for a few
A single Forerunner ancilia would wreck the Star Wars industry and military.
Daniel French Simply put, the Mantle's Approach could take on the enire Star Wars galaxy single-handedly, atleast when fully manned.
Forunners are hella powerful.. unless you use starwars legends, you don't have a chance.
Grand Admiral Thrawn Vs Admiral Preston Cole

The unsc could destroy their entire fleet with a nova bomb tho
He also forgot the UNSC tactic against shielded ships where they fire a volley of Archer Missiles and Shiva Nukes that disables shields and then they MAC the enemy ship.
Fida Md-Saini the enemy has Point defense systems
Fida Md-Saini very true, I don't think he mentioned the Shiva nukes once.
lol no the rebels do not have good point defense though.
If they used a Nova bomb, may God have mercy, it will disintegrate both flees faster than a blink of an eye.

Halo fanboys XD
+SexyCastiel440 How is he a fanboy ? He just pointed out mistakes
I just read Ghost of Onyx and specifically the Archer missile just sputtered on Covenant shields and the real damage dealer we got was from MAC Barrage point blank range. Slugs went thru those shields like butter.
0:31 or the unsc intercepts the fleet by the Death Star and engageses the rebels instead
+SkySlasher that would have been a good scenario
EckhartsLadder im curious why you keep making these one sided battles, my little brother can predict the out come. The unsc win this 9/10
@@myduckisonqauck7227 no, the UNSC would get slammed
@@clone9159 no they wouldn't because there more grounded in reality than the Star wars universe
Neil still in the end He didnt even talk about The bombers of the rebels which are really powerful X wings and a wings would destroy The unsc Fighters easily but
He just talked about ship to ship comabt and no Fighter combat and if The unsc shot its nuclear bombs The Star wars fighters would just shot them cause they would be near The frigates and heavy cruisers
Zachary Evans Well the rebel fleet at Endor is also making a last stand (sort of, its more like a last ditch effort) , it wasn’t at its full strength
NinjaTyler I would have to agree with you on that, a lot of the Halo vids are usually a very poor assessment of the Halo faction.
love these videos man, however I agree with some others in the comments who believe you don't do quite enough research on these topics, especially with halo, where in you do more guess work than is necessary as there is a large wealth of life to draw from. it's generally agreed upon that the rebel fleet at endor wasn't very large, the home fleet at earth was sizable however they would obviously have lost many ships.
The UNSC Pre Human/Covenant War vs The Mandalorians during the old Republic Era
The Mando's were able to wage war against the entire galaxy, the UNSC would get curb stomped.
Why didn't you include the orbital defense grid? I know it wouldn't have made a difference, but why?
Daniel Bob don't know, maybe he thought that they were too OP.
Daniel Bob probably cause they're not put of the fleet and he wanted the battle somewhere were it would've been neutral
Actually they have MAC cannons on the Orbital Defence Grid
This battle was focused on a skirmish between the 2 fleets, not an alliance invasion of earth. The orbital platforms were, of course, orbital and thus were not part of the UNSC Fleet
Edit:He also says that this happens at a neutral location at 0:31
I feel like it would of made sense to include the orbital macs and have the fight around earth as the rebel force was an attack force and the halo force was a defense force

Eck should also have done two rounds, one with the orbital defense systems
Many of these fleet battles seem like civil war style stand and shoot scenario, gotta mix that up.
yes I was waiting for this ,thank you 😄

Sadly this is how I thought it would go down but what I mean is that only about 1/4 of the UNSC would make it.
5 American m1a2 tanks vs 1 ATAT
Lol, that sounds awesome
I know xD You should repost this on the next video with me :D
MURICA
Spartan Abrams Fluck yeah!
easy ATAT wins
I've got some good ideas!
*1.* 100 Blockade Runners VS 1 Alligiance Star Destroyer
*2.* Tyrant Heavy Missile Cruiser VS World Devistator
*3.* Aclemator Class Assult Ship VS Nebulon B Frigate
*4.* Droid Control Ship VS Scarif Shield Gate
*5.* Tie Phantom VS Tie Defender
*6.* Imperial Class 3 Star Destroyer VS First Order Recergence Star Destroyer
A wookie vs a brute! Highest rank vs highest rank, as well as lowest rank vs lowest rank.
I think this would be an interesting match up.
Also, Chief comes in out of nowhere near the end.. just like in canon,
The Galactic Empire invades the Babalon 5 Galaxy! !!!!
stanley callahan it is a awesome idea
stanley callahan i freeking love this idea!!!!!!!!!
stanley callahan wooow dude, that's an awesome idea
stanley callahan this is brilliant. Would be such an interesting video to view.
Nah he was compering it when the UNSCwere already at the end of the Human covenant war
And normally the unsc would have had alot more but it got reduced as the human covenant war continued
The Brotherhood of Steel vs the Geonosis Jedi Assault Team with clones
Jolasso Ad Victoriam
The principality of Zeon at their strongest during the one year war vs the Empire fleet at endor, but no Death Star
Here's my list again.
1) Resurgent class Battlecruiser vs Infinity class Super Carrier
2) Behemoth class Battlecruiser from StarCraft vs Venator Star Destroyer
3) Rogue Squadron vs Inferno Squadron
4) Harrower class Dreadnaught vs Venator Star Destroyer
5) Resurgent class Battlecruiser vs Executor class Super Star Destroyer
6) Shadow vessel vs Imperial Star Destroyer
7) Starfury vs Tie Fighter
8) 2-M Repulsor Tank vs Armored Assault Tank
This list is single ship or small group battles. Like, as I believe they are interesting idea and bring use back to the roots of the channel.
One major thing I think that needs to be taken into account are the Archer missiles. From my knowledge the Alliance doesn't have CWIS to stop the missiles. I honestly think they could change the tide because they are used ON MASS.
Covenant Elite/Brute Honor Guard vs Emperor's Royal Guard
In my opinion you should have taken the orbital Mac stations, because as you said the earth fleet was the congiunction of all the forces in earth orbit/space, so they where part of the earth fleet
Mantis vs at st
I'd watch that
Yeah Id watch a superior Mantis class attack walker tear up a weak and less armed imperial AT-ST
I would love to see the mantis destroyed but not taking up his time while doing it
I would love to see this Halo fight THE MANTIS VS THE GRUNT MECH 😃.
The Immortal Super Being the OP grunt mech? That thing can annihilate an army of AT-AT's for days
Been here since 26k You are growing fast!
1:34 "AngeloAboutToBeatRandomGuy" LMAO IM DEAD
The Flaming Pharaoh LOL
If the UNSC had both Keyes and Preston Cole I think they would win. Preston is a boss! Taking out multiple covenant ships without losses.
Halo ghost vs Star Wars land speeder
Ghost all the way.
Eckhart should do this one
If the 300 Orbital Defense Platforms, or Super MAC's, were included in this battle, if would hands down go to the UNSC. 300 super MAC platforms firing every couple of seconds (because Super MAC's reload and recharge much faster than ship based MAC's) would decimate the rebel fleet no matter how strong or redundant Mon Calamari shields are.
Cody Wright Halo fanboys😂😂😂
"i have an announcement; I have a new dog"
what monster would skip that
The flood from halo vs the zerg from starcraft in the star wars galaxy while the reapers invade
Thats a bit overkill for star wars
I like it
Plenty of food to use
The Copyright Outlaw's Final Stand Yes, and while we're at it the Borg come back to face their rivals again cause why not
Zurg
The Flood consumes all.
hate to be that guy but the unsc at earth. during the battle actually had 400 paris class, 95 cruisers most marithon and like 5 carriers with thousands of long swords
although this may seem too un reasonable, the unsc had like 3200 total ships before the human covenant war.
Normandy SR-2 vs Raider Class Corvette. Fifth try
lol no the unsc had shields on all of it's updated ships after the battle of reach and the earth home defense fleet all had shields, and you are forgetting that about the only pilots that the rebels had that can shoot a missiles down are rouge squadron and even some of them had a hard time with this, you may ask why is this relevant it is relevant cause the longswords have very long range missiles, and they could fire them way before the effective range of an x-wing.
The Protoss from starcraft vs the Elites from halo
NOT ENOUGH MINERALS
If it's just the Elites, the Protoss would easily win.
I don't actually know when the protos/starcraft came out (so it might be the other way round) but I feel like the protoss a rip of of elites. The beckward bending legs, the double plasma blades. I dunno
Actually protoss came first, but none of them are original they actually are base on xenomorph
Ah yes. How the Xenomorph had that no mouth stood up right and had no tail. How could I not see the connection
You miss two details:
The firsth one is, all Halo Longswords can carry at least one Shiva Nuclear Warhead, it has most of 300 Nuclear Warheads, and the Main Carriers can carry more shiva's.
The second one is about the Pelican Gunship, all the UNSC ships have a group of this ones, specially for a space battles.
I belive the UNSC wins this hard battle, but thats my opinion
I've been waiting for a fleet battle
Thanks for the snippet of Johnson and the Elite hugging. I had totally forgotten about that! xD
UNSC Home Fleet vs Republic Open Circle Fleet.
As soon as you said “no orbital defense platforms,” I knew the UNSC had lost.
Halo vs. Star Wars vs. Mass Effect vs. Titanfall vs. Star Trek?
Aaron2 Holl2 vs my little Pony
+Not a Fgt My Little Pony easily Pinky Pie is fucking insane 😃.
Rainbow Power vs. Palpatine Reborn's Force storms
The Empire would destroy them all
Some Random Guy the empire is ez
Man I love these space battle videos!
Your lack of research disturbs me
If you need more information on Halo ships I suggest the Sins of The Prophets wiki or the game. Also, I noticed you never factor in the UNSC ships having nukes and Archer missile pods, the Marathons have 2 MAC cannons.
1) Shadows(Babylon 5) vs Sith Empire
2) Prothean vs Infinite Empire
3) Forerunner vs Eternal Empire
These are ancient civilizations in there respective universes. And would make for unique crossovers.
UNSC Infinity vs 12 CCS-class battlecruisers
The Infinity, easily.
Thanks for posting! You DO a good job!
Halo vs mass effect.
Solar One wouldn't even be a fight
I don't see why not. Both are very alike. It is not crazy like earth vs the empire.
Solar One yeah but mass effect only has like 2 thousand years of space travel and Star Wars had like 100 thousand
Yeah you are right, but I'm saying halo and mass effect are kind of the same with human and alien super power.
And both have a ancient specs that lad in the ground work for these super power's to exist.
I love watching these videos, though I feel like you forgot to mention that UNSC ships were armed with SHIVA nuclear warhead missiles, other than that it's a great video.
yeah charons have nukes
can the unsc invade geonosiss
no
orc at war 98 try covenant instead.
yes, because they use real tactics and not rush in like a bunch of republic idiots
The UNSC knows how to use air support and vehicles properly. Not to mention ODST's to attack them from multiple angles.
The amount of times you cut at the end of your sentence just killed me.
Star Killer Base vs The Sprite of Fire (Halo Wars 1&2) (i lost count how many times)
Can the Garrison b enough to stop the Sprite Crew?
*Spirit
Harrower Class Dreadnought VS Venator Class Star Destroyer
Do a Daedalus class battlecruiser (stargate) vs the U.S.S. Defiant (star trek) or venator class S.D. (star wars)
Tanner Lee hi we need more
Agreed not enough representation from the stargate universe and they have some beautiful ships.
Heh I'm advocating for the BC-304 USS Odyssey from after Unending, but without a ZPM, to fight an Imperial-II Star Destroyer...
I feel the asgard beam cannons would shred the shields allowing the railguns to do the rest.
Ooohhhh, a new eckhart's ladder video! Get hype y'all! Still waiting on the venator vs providence cruiser matchup tho.
BC-304 Odyssey (Post-Unending, no ZPM) vs Imperial-II Star Destroyer.
Spartan commandos would've been seen as a new breed of stormtrooper with formidable combat powers Admiral Ackbar and Mon Mothma would be captured and suffer a lethal teabagging
lol
I fucking love you, thank yoi so much for existing
can the republic survive a zerg attack???????
Missiles ARE effective in Star Wars. One thing UNSC ships have are VAST quantities of missiles. Among these are nuclear missiles.
Can I send s request of the galactic republic vs the federation from starship troopers
Or can courasant empire survive a Godzilla attack
+SkySlasher I thought about Godzilla doing that too lol Coruscant would be raked.
They barely survived the Zillo Beast. It took Yoda to kill that thing.
Jacob Robinson no it took gas from a gunship and that was the republic and Godzilla isn't from starwars
By the way I'd recommend you wait till Halo: Warfleet is released, as it'll be a comprehensive guide for halo ships, which will be released on the 5th of September
+Orlando Ford yeah, I've preordered alreasy!
can you do a halo deal the prototype vs proton (halo legends)
the world of warcrafts burning legion as it exists now vs. the height of the empire in both a space battle and land battle
UNSC Infinity vs. Executor Class Star Destroyer. (Or would that be too heavily one sided toward the Imperial?)
GoofballPath53 Actually the Infinity would infact win
At least if we are using Spartans of course
the infinity had forerunner shielding and a forerunner slipspace drive and a forerunner power source, so the infinity would win by a landslide, cause it was the same size as the executer and it had really powerful supermac's.
I think the SSD would be shredded because, you know, forerunner technology is at the levels of the Celestials. It could just crash through the SSD with little to not damage.
RAMMING SPEED!
The ssd would be shredded, I mean in spartan ops, the infinity ramned a covie ship, and the only consequence was a little shaking
do the Terran Federation from starship troopers verses the UNSC from halo
Admiral Cole vs Grand Admiral Thrawn, or Marathon Class vs Imperial II
SGT LOST SPARTAN Cole's flagship was Valiant-class heavy cruiser not a Marathon
Thel 'Vadam He never said his ship was a Marathon.
Thel 'Vadam I never sayed anything about the Everest, I just wanted a Marathon vs Imperial II
SGT LOST SPARTAN oh. Imperial 2 wins.
The voice editing was meh but I love the daily vids, keep em going
