    Thank you for this video, I am working my way through understanding how to build chords, especially blues on my Baritone and just want to say thank you because this is the most comprehensive and easy to understand explanation I have been able to find. I bought the book it's making everything fall into place. Thank you so much!!

    Excellent teaching Scott. Glad to have someone explain this system instead of like you say just showing positions. I am trying to figure out how to do more full chords not using open strings because even on the tenor ukulele the open chords are easy but if you are trying to play jazz or blues it is not the best in my opinion. Your video is excellent. Thank you. I will check out your website.

      Thanks so much, Franko! Learning the notes that make up chords has been one of the most useful ideas I've ever learned. :-)
      Keep up the good learning!
      Happy playing,
      Scott

    Just downloaded the FTB 'Complete Baritone Ukulele' e-book. WELL worth the money. As Deroy Crews commented, there isn't a lot out there aimed at BU players .. a few dictionaries and a few collections of music with revised chord sequences, but hery little else that's as dense with detail as your FTB CBU book. Can I offer a suggestion for any baritone players who want to find additional material? Look for the pdf-minstrel website. As well as masses of resources and transcriptions for GCEA tuning, there is also a wealth of material for DGBE. Thanks again Scott for the FTB CBU, all I have to do now is find plenty of time to work my way through it. This is definitely a channel to subscribe to.

      Thanks so much Alan! Learning music is a long journey, but I'll bet you agree that it couldn't be more rewarding! Glad to hear that your Fretboard Toolbox is a valuable member of your learning tools. :-) Happy music making! Scott

      Hi John,
      It looks like you ordered the Complete Baritone E-Book, so you should have received a link to let you download it right after you made the purchase. Send me an email (or use the Contact Scott link on my website) and we'll get it all squared away. :-)
      Happy playing,
      Scott

      Exactly! I got it used about 10 years ago and haven’t ever felt the need to upgrade. Except I did replace the plastic knob tuners with metal Grovers. :-)

    Hi Scott, Hey I restrung a tenor uke to gDBE would this be the book I need even tho g is re-entrant? (btw the tenor BOOMS strung this way..lol)

    • @FretboardToolbox
      @FretboardToolbox  6 лет назад

      Hi George, That sounds like fun!!
      Are you sure it's not strung dGBE? If it is, you'd be good to go with any Bari Uke Toolbox. If it really is gDBE, you might be on your own! :-) (Unless I'm overlooking something simple due to the end of school year chaos!) :-)
      Let me know on that tuning when you can!
      Scott

      Hi Deroy,
      What tuning would you be using?
      Happy music making,

      FretboardToolbox My guitalele is tuned like a tenor,the top 4 are GCEA

    • @FretboardToolbox
      @FretboardToolbox  10 лет назад

      DEROY CREWS Hi Deroy, I do have two books with that tuning. Both the "Complete Ukulele C-Tuning" and the "Essential Ukulele C-Tuning" books use the GCEA tuning. :-) You can download free instructions and the G Major keys for both books from my website. Hope you let me know what you think!
      Happy playing,
      Scott

      FretboardToolbox But do you have a guitalele instruction book? there are 6 strings on a guitalele . I play both traditional ukulele and baritone, I have plenty od helps for that but there aren't any books on the market for the guitalele yet.

    • @FretboardToolbox
      @FretboardToolbox  9 лет назад +1

      DEROY CREWS I don't have one yet, and unfortunately I don't have time to set one up anytime soon. Too busy working on videos for the eight instruments my books currently cover. :-) You could always go to the "Guitar" tab on my website and download the Complete and Essential Guitar preview pages (click "LOOK INSIDE"), and then pay attention only to the notes starting on the 5th fret and up, since the 5th fret notes are ADGCEA. I'm not sure if that would be of any help, but it might be worth trying since it's free to try out with the key of G Major pages. :-)
      Happy playing,
      Scott
