For anyone who is halfway serious about baritone uke and doesn't already know this material from playing guitar, the Fretboard Toolbox is a godsend. It has a lot of info in it, thus is pretty dense, but these videos are very helpful to get started working with the book. I promise - if you spend a bit of time with it while learning some of your favorite songs, it will make a huge difference.

I'm buying a Baritone Uke this weekend after many years playing GCEA uke. It's crazy to see how chord shapes and certain scales translate over. This video is great in explaining these scales. I look forward to showing off these skills to my friends and pretending that it all came naturally haha. :)
I'm confused as to the difference between the essential and complete versions of the book. Is the essential incomplete in some way? It seems like you have put together an amazing awesome tool for musicians. I'll probably end up purchasing multiple e-books I'm just wondering which ones will be best for me.
HA! Love the book but very frustrated.. no Bb major! I need that scale for a piece of music I'm working on... I'm not the best at transposing, so I'm really wishing I either had that scale or hadn't gotten the book....near to tears.

Hi TootinCrazy, If you don't have a high quality music store nearby (my first choice since you can actually play the instrument and feel it in your hands), and you live in the US, I'd look on Craigslist, EBay, or Amazon to find some possibilities, and then I'd read reviews on any you're interested in. I'd say that you definitely want one that has a solid wood top, which will cost more, but it will give you a much better sound. Having solid back and sides adds to the sound too, but not as much as the top. Hope that helps! Scott

I haven't done any tutorials on that yet, but if that's the right tuning, I'll be sure to do one. :-) Happy playing, Scott
Agreed Lewis! I wrote Fretboard Toolbox books for baritone ukulele (for DGBE tuning) and tenor guitar (for CGDA tuning), so I just always assume (probably often incorrectly) that people know which tuning I'm talking about. Thanks for the suggestion! Scott
Actually, if you take a look at the page of the book that is constantly appearing in the video, it says all the notes of the neck, including the open ones, so you should start by paying a minimum of attention to the video you are watching.
