What a great tutorial on faces and collages! There is so much work that goes into faces and you did an awesome job! I’m not sure I’d have the patience but loved everything you did! Another informative video!
I am so fond of watching your process videos because you are brilliant,as in genius,, as a mixed media artist. I learn something new just about every video. Thank you thank you and please never stop making videos, 😊
Thank you for sharing this. After watching your videos for a few months I now use gesso frequently, and have learned to use distress and oxide products to create backgrounds. As a beginner I thought I would be into all the journal decorating, but the basic art skills are so rewarding. Please continue the basics, I am practicing!:)
Andrea I thoroughly enjoyed this. You’ve brought that girl to life. Everything about the way you coloured her face, brought light and shade to her face. Thank you so much Andrea and Bravo!!! Bravo!!! xxx Mags
I just recently learned about mixing gesso with the neocolors to "set" them, it was good to see someone demo that technique. You did a fabulous job on the face. I love Dina's sketches, but you did such a good job personalizing it I don't think I would have realized you hadn't drawn it. TFS
So interesting. I wouldn’t even begin to know where to start with something like this. Oh well, that’s why there are artists like you whose work we can watch and admire.... Love the seagulls in the background. I live about 50 miles from the Jersey shore and in the summertime, it’s my favorite place to be, listening to the sounds of the ocean and the seagulls. Big xoxo’s 💞, Robbin.
This was such an awesome video. I would love to paint faces, but always found it a bit frustrating. Your face turned out absolutely beautiful and the whole collage is stunning. I forgot how much I love my neo crayons...definitely pulling them out to play with. You are a great inspiration!
This is weird. Just watched a recommended video a couple of days ago that made me dig out my mixed media supplies. I dusted jars off, had to figure out how to open a few stuck lids and throw out some dried up supplies but it was wonderful! Seems like my style has become a bit neater and cleaner but the process hasn’t changed. Thank you! A mixed media page in my journal looks awesome.
Fascinating process. I loved how you kept going because it showed so well how the different mediums you used melded together and the different properties of each. I loved this video. Don’t get me wrong I absolutely love your journals but I was great to see your style in a different way. Thank you so much, Andrea. Oh, I am curious, did the crazing medium “craze”?

karen teague stay clear of modge podge unless the final layer, you can’t really work on the top of it. You can make you own gesso recipes are on Pinterest. I think they use white acrylic, water, glue & plaster of Paris something like that, I might actually make some up tomorrow and see how I like it, my sister uses it x. Just had a look it’s baby powder or corn starch x
Oh.. you know about Mike Deakin & his website & Indigo blu , for supplies, right? Probably, but just in case, they are both UK based, so for anyone who needs it.? :) I think I mentioned this before? Been sick for so long now, my brain doesn't work right. Smh lol So if I did, I appologize. :(
Sheila Blair I do know about indigo blu have ordered before but never heard of Mike Deakin. I would never mind if you did repeat yourself as my memory is the worst I blame my thyroid as used to be brilliant xx
@@artymazeOk, sweet! Never my intention to be annoying. lol He is an awesome artist too! Lots of mixed media stuff, painting, etc. Does journals and his own web design too. :) That could be part of my issue too, runs in the family a bit, but dr has to run the right tests and wont. They just blame it on age (47 in sept) or on my car accident at 16 , if they remeber that..) smh
Sheila Blair that was the exact same age when it started with me, before medication I couldn’t even string a sentence together, also it was like having flu it effected all muscles had no energy either. I have definitely improved but nothing like I was but I would put it down to normal ageing lol. I hope you get it sorted brain fog is just horrible x
@@artymazeyes! "suddenly" got worse for me in '02, and keeps going. Last year or so I can't hardly do anything. Thank you! Hope you feel better fast too!
AliLou Creations sorry I have absolutely nothing to do with that there should be a little one in the beginning I think RUclips must have Gremlins or something . I’m so sorry x
Great video. Love the way her face changed through the process. 😊
