Albricias y enhorabuenas. Hermosa y sensible interpretación. GRacias por el regalo.
Playing this piece while the whole earth is shaking must've been incredible. Amazing interpretation!
This is like the old school power metal and i love it
The musicians needs know more about this incredible composer
It's always good to know that someone plays Carlos Seixas and share the interpretations with others! Continue! :-)
Seixas was really a GENIOUS!!!!!!
AMAZING !! COOL !!
I'm portuguese born in Lisbon and i didn't know that Carlos Seixas was the 1st "Heavy Metal" composer born in the 18th Century (most of "Heavy Metal" harmonic riffs were influenced by Ancient Musicians such as Beethoven and Mozart).
In a way they were, but in essence europeans will do european aesthetics, because we have it in our blood, even if they try to rebell
Indeed a very very early prelude to metal or more even gothic ! Love the line, the evolvement of chords !
funny how some parts are exactly the same as Les Cyclopes by JP Rameau, composed 24 years earlier. (exemple : the left hand at 0:48 ) ps : this is an incredible performance, bravo
Mi autor favorito del barroco, Carlos Seixas
Dopo Bach?

0:48 *¡Vaya pasaje! Me encanta esta parte.*
The video, the execution and original material are certainly amazing! Congratulations.
Si lavora con serietà. Grazie!
Very nice, I didn't knew about Seixas yet.
I'm definitely going to look into this composer.
Un bellissimo brano in ottima esecuzione
Great performance and piece.
Que maravilha,merece ser mais conhecido
absolument divin
I listen to it on repeat. It is very beautiful. Thank you!
Grazie!!!
Magnífica interpretação.
Increible me encanta este instrumento.
Magia da un tempo lontano.... Grazie.
Ahhh nothing like good Old fashion Metal from the 16th Century...
It is from the 18th century and a harpsichord is mainly made out of wood, not metal.
Jean-Baptiste Des Prez the idea is that this resembles heavy metal music.
@@Ekvitarius His Name Is Des Prez, Josquin Des Prez was a renaissance composer, probably from Jean-Baptiste's family, hence the need to take things too seriously and not take a joke as what it is.
Now that we're done, Seixas was metal af \m/ I can propose his concerto in A Major as well
Hector Mosquera viva barocken viva musik
@@andresportingbraga Not to mention his harpsichord sonata No. 24 in D Minor \m/
Excellent playing!
Seixas, "The Portuguese Scarlatti"
Once Scarlatti went to Lisbon to give Seixas lessons. Scarlatti, immediately recognizing Seixas' talent, said, "You can give me lessons."
@@joaovitormatos8147 and Seixas replied "Obrigado, brother"
Scarlatti, the Italian Seixas...
Seixas, "The Portuguese Sweelinck"
Muito bom!! Assisti várias vezes de tanto que gostei!
And it is something that is naturally more difficult to grasp for those not in the spirit of Portuguese music. Of course this does not invalidate other different readings, as I said earlier.
Once again, thank you and congratulations for the video design!
Thanks for giving me a knowing another interpretation of the Sonata in G minor!
The two interpretations are actually quite different (which is welcome). But I like most of the breath, the punctuation and phrasing of Rui Paiva. In Carlos Seixas exists an melodical idiosyncratic feature that is intimately portuguese and, I believe, is noted in certain works of urban popular music of the XVIII th century (some survived until today in the form of "Fado").
W.O.W. Thank you for updloading this video!
This music is so simple, you cannot compare it with the master pieces of J S Bach. But played it like this and in this instrument is so wonderful, that this simplicity enchants us, as well as the music by Pancrace Royer. Thank you so much!
What?? Simple?! You must be crazy
Magnificent!! Bravo!!
Es esplendida!, obrigado.
so beautiful
Magnificent.
Intérprete brilhante, edição excelente.
Grazie!!!
i love it

71 comments and still not a word spilled on the paper airplane gag?
My my, my disappointment cannot be overstated.
Is that what that was. I thought he was just throwing some notes away.
@@caesarsneezer6992 It could be both...
@@benjaminjohannessanchez3310 The music was so mesmerizing I noticed the paper at first, but then I forgot it. Now that I looked at the end again, there was a feeble looking version of a paper airplane sitting on the keyboard. What is the meaning of this? Is there one? If it's meant as a humorous aside, I didn't get it.If someone else thought it was funny, i don't get it even more. If it was meant to be funny, it wasn't funny. Oh well, ponder on.
@@caesarsneezer6992 I see you are rich of mind...
Scarlatti. Gran técnica. Gracias. Es divino el Clavecin. 🇮🇷🌹🌹
It's not Scarlatti is Carlos Seixas😄 a portuguese Scarlatti
Great Video! Congratulations!
Bravo, complimenti!
Formidável!
Grazie!!!
This is wonderful!
Muito bom!
I love this harpsichordist he plays it just right. Can you tell me where you found that manuscript/ edition we were reading along to?
Great!
Brilhante!!!!!
Love it!
Lovely performance!
With the left hand octaves (at around 0.30) how did you arrive at this interpretation of the ornament, which you play as a kind of brief octave tremolo? It sounds great, but I was wondering if there are any sources that address this ornament specifically. Cheers.
Can you play this song from Carlos Seixas
Carlos Seixas - Harpsichord Sonata No. 24 in D Minor
N24 is great
Sublime-thank you.
WHERE CAN I GET A HARPSICHORD?
Very great !! I love it
I love it!
superbe !
Meraviglioso.
Finally a lively and interesting piece. So many are tedious and slow and (complex).
interesting sound..quite nice
Bloody Good
Una cosa impresionante
Grazie!!!
Please write down how each string sounds separately. Open these .wav files for free access. To home any person on the computer to play on the MIDI keyboard with such an excellent sound.
Many points in common with Scarlatti
👏 nice

Excellent! I really enjoyed this! BTW, are there any good "urtext" editions of his music available these days? Also, what about a facsimile edition of his keyboard works? It's apparent that Seixas' writing is clear enough that you can play from that instead of a modern edition.
Thanks again for this video and I look forward to further additions.
manuscript from 1700s on imslp.
There is a complete edition of his keyboard sonatas as part of the Portugaliæ Musica.
Is the score below the original one?
Ora. Assim está bem !

Where can I find the score? I would like to play this as well as you do!

Some parts sound kinda like Sibelius Etude Op.76 No.2
Mind you, you are not stating it correctly... Seems like parts of Sibelius' Etude Op. 76 No. 2 sound like this.
I sound like such a nitpick, sorry!!
and Rameau's Cyclops
actually toccata 11a in the manuscript...
If you follow the manuscript you see the same as what you hear.
yeah, sorry, i got the wrong manuscript, theres another where its the 11th piece in the book. that one has several errors tho.
