I think the Skarn is pretty cool looking. Come talk games @ discord.gg/fevir ... and come hang out in some infrequent twitch streams @ www.twitch.tv/fevirgaming
Hey Fevir, thanks for continuing to cover all these awesome games! I was wondering if you could make a video comparing Dauntless and Monster Hunter? MH is coming to PC soon and I was looking to get interested in this style of game, but dont want do get invested in both games since ive got a lot of other games im playing with friends as well. Not asking you to say which is "better" but id like to see what games offers what that is different from its counterpart. Thanks!
I love your videos, will you make a full boop guide? I'm new to the game but I've been researching on how to boop and guides on booping but nothing is concrete so I would love to see a boop guide from you.
If you hit it multiple times in a second then yes. if you only do 1 hit per second with a slow weapon dps (damage per second) wont change. Sorry for being like that *flies away*
I needed more practice. I was basically doing a charged attack to boop so the timing was pretty slim. Guess I gotsa learn more about the game too, especially when I just unlocked war pike.
dont believe you listed this but, more tips. 1. if you get set on fire, stop drop roll, Roll 3x to get rid of fire status. 2. try not to salvage your old mats( you get notes pretty easily as you play ), use them to craft+ upgrade as many weps as you can to raise weapon mastery. this'll help you reach that Axe+ Warpike faster. 3. small warning to newer players, Green Cells ( or gems as i like to call them from most other games ) cost 50 Notes to remove ; Blue Cells cost 300 Notes to remove ; Purple Cells cost 1000 Notes to remove. So be careful with socketing high lvl gems early into the game since you might not have enough Notes to take them out for that new weapon you want to put it into instead.
Last night I found out a out the cell removal fee one. I was pretty pissed. Socketed a purple cell in a shite weapon and being low on notes, was unable to remove it
This is honestly one of the best guides for a game in general, most "guides" just give non-tips and don't really tell you the things that really help. I never even thought of the rolling into enemies trick so that was very helpful.
A year later, this is still very useful to the massive influx of new players from the official release. That's a sign that this is a damn good guide for new players. Sure, things have changed like the whole gear and cells bit, but that doesn't really take away from the usefulness of the video. Good job!
I've watched quite a number of tips and tricks guides for Dauntless and I have to say, this is the best and most useful one I've found so far, thanks a lot!
My girlfriend and I run the behemoths together. We like to try to call out the incoming attack out loud. This got us through our first drask fight. And it makes it a lot more fun to work out the strategy midmatch
Just gave this game a chance last night after my friend wouldn't shut up about it for weeks, have to say i did rather enjoy it and this video has helped me understand a lot about it massively!, can't wait for him to be questioning how i know what I'm doing xD. Good stuff, keep it up. Subbed!!
Great tips Fevir. Been watching your vids for a while. Another tip is to know your Behemoth's weakness and strength. If you're fighting a lightning Behemoth, DO NOT go in with armor that takes increased lightning damage. Sure that Embermane armor looks cool, but Drask will ruin your day. Also learn to swap your weapons in the same regard.
I've been playing Dauntless like crazy ever since the public beta came out. Thanks for the advice, I'll definitely remember all of these tips and try to use them to improve my skills.
You explained these stuff really well and simple (and also in a really chill tone), nothing really complicated, and I really like that final tip. Overall I like it. Subscribed
2 days into the game, and to be honest I haven't even gave a second thought to all of this. But it's really good to know. Especially the danger meter. I always thought it was something related to the behemoth. Thanks a lot for the information!
LOVE THIS. Been a while since I’ve played a fighting game with friends. Tbh I think it’s the most fun if you make up a team and coordinate a plan of attack with them. Teamwork is fun, and while you say it’s unnecessary, I believe it’ll make the experience better.
Instantly knew this was gonna be a decent guide after the "roll into danger". My friends get twice as good everytime I give them that simple tip, not only you don't get hit as often (because you're going the wrong way from an attack) but you also get to deal more damage.
Good tips. Some of them I figured out on my own and I'm glad to see I'm not doing it wrong (the rezzing instead of potions one). Though the rolling into attacks will be hard to train myself to do, it does explain why certain cells say "Gain X when dosing THROUGH am attack".
Ah awesome thank you! Played for two hours first time yesterday, levelled plenty but felt like a fish outta water, and was missing key stuff! didn’t realise much of this info , so helpful :) look forward to watching more stuff to wrap my head around it👍👍
The more people take damage and/or die, the higher the % raises. At 100% you can't ress your team mates anymore, only the one selfress you get per hunt works at that point.
Don't forget you can press M to start a hunt anywhere in the lobby (Ramsgate?), you don't always have to go to the hunt boards. I found this out by accident and was pretty happy because running around from crafting NPCs to the hunt board was kind of annoying.
Great video Fevir. I found myself trying to dodge away rather than dodging into attacks and getting hit alot. So I'm gonna try that tip out today. Thanks :)
Another cool tip is that u can hit people out when they are frozen. Just one attack will free them and possible save themselves a lot of incoming damage
love the last tip about not tryharding :D like thats what people should know, u dont need to be perfect, just get friends into that game and have fun :) great vid.
I finally tried the game today (ignored it when there were huge queues) and I loved it, yes it still has issues like long load screens, lag and such, but the combat feels great and that hamster mentality to gather all the gear sets works wonders, after I finish the hunt I said just one more and I did like 5 more :D We will see how long the game can keep me interested.
more like the game failed to entertain you. it's in open beta, give that shit time. they may not do much to improve the game, but atleast you'll know you gave em a shot.
In MHW sprinting auto sheaths and that was throwing me so much when I picked this game up. In any case I am pretty impressed with this game so far the only notable complaint I'd say is your party members not appearing on your compass. I guess there are the flares but they are not the greatest. Also having to flair because you found a good gathering patch seems annoying.
So when you break a piece of the behemoth off and it creates the glowing bulb on the ground do you have to walk over it to pick it up or do you get it when the hunt is over?
Very nice video... are you planning on doing a video on weapons, gear and upgrades? I feel I've spend too much time upgrading low level gear and I would have been better off saving up the parts of later. Also some weapons I don't seem to upgrade at all. Things like that.
Bulwark who'd know - don't know half of what the potions do - I guess that's what's going to make this a classic ... there are so many angles /dimensions - congrats to Phoenix Labs!
Thank you for that. And I hope more people see this. As I'm already seeing some pretty toxic behavior in the Airship before hunts. Guys typing stuff like "lol why a hammer?!" or something, causing a player to change his weapon. It wasn't even that hard of hunt to boot. Or guys bragging about "carrying". Just let people play the game and have fun and experiment. Why do people have to ridicule others...just shake my damn head.
Jean Pierre Polnareff as a hammer main going solo is so much easier because it takes a couple of primed hits to take down the behemoth unlike in a group :)
I've only ran into only one douche really, usually most seemed chilled. I love going back and doing the first few bosses with new players. Not brag or show off, just to have fun and help new players. Dauntless is a good game, but very bad at explaining.
I got called out for trying to give advice while fighting Nayzaga the other day. We were all downed and I happened to say to prioritize the spikes he shoots out just as a little reminder for the next hunt and then some asshole says “Oh you aren’t even doing the thing you’re telling us”, EVEN THOUGH I was one of the only people doing that for the remainder of the hunt. I’m sure he was baiting but fuck dude, that shit grinds my gears.
That was a very well put together video. I am now level 14 and did not know the color differences as well as the dodge toward instead of away. I am on my lunch break now but this video has me ready to go home and play! Also..I see a lot of different videos but non really mention/care about repeaters. Are they just not good?
Why is no one mentioning the fact that at 9:53 the behemoth is not doing anything? How did you get the behemoth to not attack you? And how did you get the camera in free cam mode? I am playing the beta now and would like to take some nice screenshots and also play around with weapons and see their damage vs parts without being attacked.
Can you please make a “interrupt” guide for each class?? If it’s possible?? I use chain blades and I used to interrupt some behemoths but now I can’t....? Did they change it so chainblades can’t interrupt anymore? :(
Do you have to pick up the parts to get them? Like there have been times I break a part off and that hit or the next also kills the boss and I had no chance to pick it up.
Ja, du must einen Valomyr beziegen. Und wir allem must du auf seinen schwantz schlagen. Versuch si viel damage wie möglich zu machen. Und ich rate dir denn Hammer.
Special advice: 1. Most professional players will automatically say "save self-revives for when the danger meter is full", but make sure you aren't running it up to 100% by expecting someone to revive you. There are *SEVERAL behemoths that make reviving a suicide mission.* Embermane, Hellion(horribly), Boreus, and rift stalker. *If no one is reviving you, it's because they CAN'T, and you need to revive yourself by the time the danger meter goes up by 10 POINTS.* 2. Don't be Chuck-Nucking-Forris! What I mean is DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE ENTER AN EMBERMANE FIGHT WITH A SLOW WEAPON, or a Hellion fight with a sword! There is such a thing as ineffective weapons, and you'll often be "that guy" who used all of his revives first because you think you can clutch a fight. 3. Don't be that guy who thinks he doesn't need advice when you don't even remember to upgrade your lantern. You WILL die.
2 questions is it necessary to pick up those cut parts orb? sometimes after the behemoth is killed, we are still stuck inside the map, would gathering after that still gain you the items?
I think the Skarn is pretty cool looking.
Come talk games @ discord.gg/fevir ... and come hang out in some infrequent twitch streams @ www.twitch.tv/fevirgaming
Great video as always! Loving this game.
Thanks!
Great video man.
Hey! Great video! Quick question: Why do you use a controller instead of mouse/keyboard? Ty!
I love your videos, will you make a full boop guide? I'm new to the game but I've been researching on how to boop and guides on booping but nothing is concrete so I would love to see a boop guide from you.
Best tip "Lower a Behemoth HP to 0 to Kill it"
you can't die if you kill it first
Ikr??
The more times you hit it, the higher the dps
Thank me later
That's what I've been doing wrong. That explains a lot
If you hit it multiple times in a second then yes. if you only do 1 hit per second with a slow weapon dps (damage per second) wont change. Sorry for being like that *flies away*
Just a side tip, if you see the homies get frozen. Go smack them with your weapon. They'll appreciate it.
Same for being struck with a swarm of bees at Kharabak!
For real?
@@Goldy01 actually no. U can get rid of 'emin 3 secs by inflicting dmg to whatever.
cultist noted
Get em off me ! Ahh!
New player guide -
Don't get hit
hit it until it dies
in that sequence.
GalaticCyrus
Advice has been taken, and I am now their king.
friggin 1v1'd an embermane using axe and this guide cannot be applied my good sir xD
why not ? because you hit first to not get hit by booping da snoop ?
Axe can boop embermane, so what yo getting at
I needed more practice.
So be careful with socketing high lvl gems early into the game since you might not have enough Notes to take them out for that new weapon you want to put it into instead.
the roll one, thanks alot for that one
you mean the spacebar dodge action or which one? for the fire one
The cell tip is a good one to know, thx for sharing it 😎
Exalindor1 yea. Spacebar 3x
Last night I found out a out the cell removal fee one. I was pretty pissed. Socketed a purple cell in a shite weapon and being low on notes, was unable to remove it
This was very helpful to new players. Well put together. Thank you. :)
Aculite Love u dad
Heey Dad
DADDY!!!!!!!!
Hey Aculite Fancy seeing you here, Not really since i tried this game cuz i saw your video :D
"boop the snoot gameplay"
well, I'm sold
Did your wife’s boyfriend buy you a ps4?
12:22 best tip, basically just have fun and don't stress to min max techniques.
This is honestly one of the best guides for a game in general, most "guides" just give non-tips and don't really tell you the things that really help. I never even thought of the rolling into enemies trick so that was very helpful.

Sure, things have changed like the whole gear and cells bit, but that doesn't really take away from the usefulness of the video. Good job!
I was three hunts in when I found this video. The information here QUICKLY set me leaps and bounds ahead of the other newer players.
I've watched quite a number of tips and tricks guides for Dauntless and I have to say, this is the best and most useful one I've found so far, thanks a lot!
Started playing today. I found this guide the most useful!!
That last tip. IS EVERYTHING. Most important. 10/10
Subbed!!
This is one of the most informative vids I've watched for any game. Well said.

Everyone who plays Dauntless should watch this! Lots of useful and comprehensive info! Thank you for posting it! :D
You explained these stuff really well and simple (and also in a really chill tone), nothing really complicated, and I really like that final tip. Overall I like it. Subscribed
This is by far the most informative yet wholesome tips and tricks video I've found. Instant subbed.
2 days into the game, and to be honest I haven't even gave a second thought to all of this. But it's really good to know. Especially the danger meter. I always thought it was something related to the behemoth. Thanks a lot for the information!
I’m halfway through the video and already I seen tips that I haven’t heard before like double tap.
Useful and underrated video this is 😁
LOVE THIS. Been a while since I’ve played a fighting game with friends. Tbh I think it’s the most fun if you make up a team and coordinate a plan of attack with them. Teamwork is fun, and while you say it’s unnecessary, I believe it’ll make the experience better.
That video was very well put together, thanks for the roll thru tip! I wouldn’t have known if not for this video!
Instantly knew this was gonna be a decent guide after the "roll into danger". My friends get twice as good everytime I give them that simple tip, not only you don't get hit as often (because you're going the wrong way from an attack) but you also get to deal more damage.
the production on this is world class. great aesthetic and very well presented. awesome!
I've been playing the game for 2 days and I have the hell armour, what am I doing
Same
congratsu lost ur life
good you are doing good
Good tips. Some of them I figured out on my own and I'm glad to see I'm not doing it wrong (the rezzing instead of potions one).
Though the rolling into attacks will be hard to train myself to do, it does explain why certain cells say "Gain X when dosing THROUGH am attack".
The best tip in this video 12:27
" Have fun ^-^ "
The damage types is so important, and I have not seen this information before. Thank you for the info.
Out of curiosity is there a source you can link for the damage type info?
So many unanswered questions, answered! Fevir I love you!
Ah awesome thank you! Played for two hours first time yesterday, levelled plenty but felt like a fish outta water, and was missing key stuff! didn’t realise much of this info , so helpful :) look forward to watching more stuff to wrap my head around it👍👍
Wow, this video was so concise and displayed every detail so clearly. Hoping your other videos are of the same quality. You got yourself a sub.
I got it two days ago and these actually helped me thank you
Great video man. Very insightful and well put together. Im loving this game so far and hope to see it grow.
You do a better job explaining the game than the game does. Well done!
Thank you for the video I just downloaded it for the xbox one I'm gonna try it out great tips
THANK YOU for this video! I've just defeated my first Charrogg and had so many questions that this answered to the T! Thank you!
Can you go more in depth about the danger meter? I have no idea what it is and what it’s telling me
The more people take damage and/or die, the higher the % raises. At 100% you can't ress your team mates anymore, only the one selfress you get per hunt works at that point.
Goldy awesome thanks for the clarification!
in addition: Lowering the danger meter is done by doing alot of damage, Making the Behemoth flee and ressin (like suggested in the vid)
another addition when hitting 100% your resistance gear towards the element have a lesser effect
Its your how f***ed you are meter.
Honestly had no idea what those damage colors meant, this helped a lot!
Wait . . . Aether Wisps can provide a boost of energy? :O who knew
Yes. And another thing(listen, this is important): Keep an eye on your timer
lmao
And when he says that you can't even see the timer
Don't forget you can press M to start a hunt anywhere in the lobby (Ramsgate?), you don't always have to go to the hunt boards. I found this out by accident and was pretty happy because running around from crafting NPCs to the hunt board was kind of annoying.
This is an excellent video Fevir! Can't wait to see you in the shattered isle!
Very thorough and clear guide for an introduction thanks homie
and now Fevir is my best youtuber ty so much
wow this is really helpful cause i just started today and while the tutorial is decent they dont really talk about it in details. thank you
Damage explanation definitely helped out a ton.
BOOP DA SNOOT
Snoot*
Shoop da Whoop
DO NOT BOOP THAT MERRY SUICIDE BOMBER VULKAN
Random Videos - Cr1TiKaL Full Streams huh
This is an amazing game. I just wish their was a bit more customization and a larger variety of behemoths.
Your tips were very helpful also love your narration style
Omg its so cool the launcher links to your video as an official tips and tricks guide, gz!
Thank you, super useful video!
I had no idea about the different damage types, but this explained it perfectly and concisely.
dang I needed this tips! finally took care of that embermane!
NICE! Useful and explained in a very clear, relaxed and in a fun way! TnX!
You forgot to mention that attacking the monster legs ussually also does stagger damage.
Excellent video! Thanks Fevir, love me some Dauntless so far!
Great video Fevir. I found myself trying to dodge away rather than dodging into attacks and getting hit alot. So I'm gonna try that tip out today. Thanks :)
Another cool tip is that u can hit people out when they are frozen. Just one attack will free them and possible save themselves a lot of incoming damage
very well-constructed video, man. well done
Rare quality tips and tricks video. Keep up the good work my man!
Love your last note: make sure you have fun.
Thanks for the video.
Best guide so far!
You clearly know what you are talking about, good job!!
love the last tip about not tryharding :D like thats what people should know, u dont need to be perfect, just get friends into that game and have fun :) great vid.
This Video rly helped me .. i started playin Yesterday and was rly wondering what all these different colored numbers mean.. Thanks !
I watched this for information, but my favorite tip was the one about having fun and not obsessing about every detail.
EXTREMELY INFORMATIVE VIDEO thank you a lot I’m a new player and this helped a lot I’m passing this video to my friends
just remember that the salvaging and stuff isn't relevant anymore as the video is over a year old now and that stuff has been changed
I got bored within the hour :(,and I love monster hunter...im so sad i failed to enjoy this game
more like the game failed to entertain you. it's in open beta, give that shit time. they may not do much to improve the game, but atleast you'll know you gave em a shot.
Been here since Wildstar, as always great content.
great vid, even gave me a better understanding of how to utilize those things you put in equipment slots !
Thank you for telling me about this game. Enjoying it a lot so far. Only had two negative experiences so far. Other than that it's a really fun game!
Thanks for the useful guide. I really like the style/tone of the video. GG HF
Your video is now on the launcher! Congrats!
Yo Dauntless got your video on the launcher congrats and great video :D
So when you break a piece of the behemoth off and it creates the glowing bulb on the ground do you have to walk over it to pick it up or do you get it when the hunt is over?
great video man put together really well
LOL I randomly paused right at the start. 0:02 it looks like a super happy derp face lmao
Amazing video. I learned so much from this going into the game
Fevir my man, you are linked on the Launcher
Thank you for that. And I hope more people see this. As I'm already seeing some pretty toxic behavior in the Airship before hunts. Guys typing stuff like "lol why a hammer?!" or something, causing a player to change his weapon. It wasn't even that hard of hunt to boot. Or guys bragging about "carrying". Just let people play the game and have fun and experiment. Why do people have to ridicule others...just shake my damn head.
play solo hunt, its much more fun and challenging, i just group for farming
Jean Pierre Polnareff as a hammer main going solo is so much easier because it takes a couple of primed hits to take down the behemoth unlike in a group :)
Because gamers, as a demographic, are fucking garbage.
They be coming in clutch.
is it just me or does the game feel a bit choppy? i have a decent rig with a gtx 1050 and g4560.
Yeah I'm pretty sure it's still not fully optimized yet. It's still an open beta anyway... just give them time to improve.
Choppy on ps4 a lil also .
Do you get more loot by picking up the orbs from the parts you break or no?
Can you please make a “interrupt” guide for each class?? If it’s possible?? I use chain blades and I used to interrupt some behemoths but now I can’t....? Did they change it so chainblades can’t interrupt anymore? :(
This guide was super helpful & informative! Thanks!
Do you have to pick up the parts to get them? Like there have been times I break a part off and that hit or the next also kills the boss and I had no chance to pick it up.
Weiß jemand wie ich ein Insterbielen Schwantzstachel bekomme?
Ja, du must einen Valomyr beziegen. Und wir allem must du auf seinen schwantz schlagen. Versuch si viel damage wie möglich zu machen. Und ich rate dir denn Hammer.
Special advice:
*If no one is reviving you, it's because they CAN'T, and you need to revive yourself by the time the danger meter goes up by 10 POINTS.*
Do Behemoth regain health when they run away? and is there a good indicator to know whether the behemoth is going down?
still downloading the game, so.. thanks for some advice.
2 questions
is it necessary to pick up those cut parts orb?
sometimes after the behemoth is killed, we are still stuck inside the map, would gathering after that still gain you the items?
Loved the last bit, thanks for the vid
Thanks for this man! some stuff there i actually hadn't picked up on. Appreciate yah!
Important tip: keep an eye on the timer boys!
if you break a part theres no need to gather the drop, you will get it anyway if you win no matter if you picked it up or not
