Saw you a couple days ago Henry at Ayala mall, I was going to say hi but didn't want to disturb you. Great videos sir. Your videos made it an easier decision for me to come here.

I stayed in the Waterfront Airport Hotel for one night in August 2017. Never again.
In the hotel restaurant, the number of red wine choices on the wine list was one. So no choice really. This one was expensive, not just by Philippines standards, but even by UK standards. It was not a particlularly good wine, very ordinary.
At the end of the meal, the restaurant had no way of charging our meal to our room bill. It had to be paid there and then.
The next morning, we sat down to our breakfast in the 7th floor dining area. I noticed that the milk which was provided with our cereal was UHT milk. _(At this time, I was unaware that all milk in the Philippines is UHT.)_ I asked the waiter to bring some fresh milk. Then I waited. And waited. And waited. Finally, I sought out the waiter and asked him if had forgotten. He replied that he had not been busy fetching fresh milk because there was none. He didn't think it important to tell me this, he just left me waiting.
As we were leaving the breakfast area, this same idiot waiter made a pathetic joke involving my name. "Why your name Black if you a white man?", and had a belly laugh about it.
I expected much better from a hotel which charges prices similar to a Marriott or a Radisson.
    Never again.

You want to live long in your retirement, stay away from buffets!

a buffet twice a year is fine, i don't do buffets every day. :)

That's a very expensive breakfast especially for the Philippines. More US style than others and Vegas strip prices. I wouldn't mind doing that maybe once a month if I miss the big buffets back home, but if I did that all the time, I might as well just be back here paying the high prices in the US again. lol

You always stimulate my food appetite Reekay, just at a time when I'm trying to burn a few kilos of belly beef. However, the food you display in your videos always looks nutritious and wholesome, so I guess it really comes down to what we eat but also the food portion size that makes the difference. I've identified the main reason, I always put on weight every time I'm in Philippines and that was due to the high humidity and daily temperatures. I tended to be a lot less physically active, as well as drinking far too much soft drink instead of bottled water. on the searingly hot days I would head for the air-con at the shopping malls or Jolly B..and to quench my thirst Id have a large soft drink which of course is loaded with sugar. Coming back here down under Id naturally burn off the additional weight. Like your videos suggest, I too have a penchant for good food and for eye candy....lol

Thank you for these videos, I want a filipina wife, sadly picking up and moving there is out of the question for me. Is meeting filipina online just out of the question?
I could travel there but living there long term just isn't going to happen sadly.

meeting and marrying a filipina you've only known online and for a few weeks in person is about as chancy and dicey as you can get with all your assets up for loss in a divorce. i don't advise it, but many do it.

Henry that was one of the fastest videos of the food I've ever seen you must have been hungry LOL. I will say this you have shown in the past some of the best restaurants as far as I'm concerned. I think our taste in food is very similar

That's way too pricey, even at American restaurants in the U.S. For the Philippines, don't think I'd be having breakfast there as I don't think it's of value. Thanks for the info on the American Consulate that has a location there.

Hey! Hey! What is in the ground floor? American consultant?
What? Do I need to check in?
Should I check in? How can they help out a fellow American?

    • @Lifebeyondthesea
      @Lifebeyondthesea  6 лет назад +1

the ground floor has the American Consulate. (not Embassy) they offer some services, like help with lost passports and other documentation.
