  • Sky News host James Morrow has reacted to Toronto Police advising residents to leave their car keys at the front door for thieves to take their vehicles.
    This has caused outrage among the public and social media users as car thefts have soared in Canada.
    “If you live in Toronto - just leave your car keys by the front door,” Mr Morrow said.
    “In fact, probably don’t even bother locking your front door.
    “Why not leave the whole place unlocked - put your jewellery out on the front porch ... 'cause you don’t want to get hurt.”

      Well, when police are criticized, condemned even, for doing their jobs by anti-police activists and media and when pro-crime Woke Liberals appoint bleeding-heart left-wing activist judges and "governments" (especially under the Trudeau regime) appease, cater to, pander to hardcore and career criminals while bullying, harassing, and are hell-bent and adamant on trying to criminalize hard-working, law-abiding taxpayers, what else are the police to do?

      Back in the day, police used to tell shopkeepers and bank tellers to cooperate with armed robbers and not risk getting hurt. That made sense and still does. But this new advice takes that idea too far and is basically caving in to criminals. Best prevention is a mandatory 10 year sentence for auto theft

It’s gotten to the point in this country that if you use so much as harsh language towards an intruder in your home you are the one who goes to prison while the intruder gets a feather light tap on the wrist and sent on his way. Now they have the gall to tell you to leave your valuables by the door for the criminals to take so you won’t get hurt? Are you kidding? How about the cops and courts do their f#%king jobs. If there are no consequences then you’re going to end up with more and more criminals doing whatever they like. I always shook my head at the Americans next door to us and their obsession with guns. I mean all their homes seem to have their own armouries. But at least they’re allowed to protect themselves if someone breaks into their homes.

    • @ManBat420
      @ManBat420 2 месяца назад +6

      If you go by Canadian law and Canada's criminal code "a person is not justified for the purposes of subsection (1) in using force that is intended or is likely to cause death or grievous bodily harm unless the person believes on reasonable grounds that it is necessary for the self-preservation of the person or the preservation of any one under that person’s protection from death or grievous bodily harm." then yes Canadians can defend themselves up to and including lethal force, a home intruder was killed by the home owner in Halifx in January and wasn't charged because of this. If you listen to Trudeau, then no we can't. If you listen to most uneducated Canadians then most the time you'll think we can't. Canada also has a lot of weak men who pretent to think they don't have the right to defend themselves so they have an excuse to hide while waiting for help to arrive or just not defend themselves. But yeah, if you go by the actual law in place in Canada, you have full legal right to defend yourself.
      From my understanding most USA states are the same. Some states have the stand your ground laws and in some states you can kill someone for stealing your TV but in most I think it's the same as Canada where you can only use lethal force if your own life or someone under your protection life is in danger.

    • @markwegner6100

    • @ReikerForge
      @ReikerForge 2 месяца назад +3

      @@ManBat420The problem is right there. "Unless the person believes it is necessary for self preservation." Judge can decide you're wrong, now you're guilty. Judge can decide you should have jumped out a window instead of fighting back, you didn't _need_ deadly force. You should have talked to the intruder first, did you talk to him? No? Guilty, you couldn't have known his intent was to cause deadly force even though he was holding a knife.
      Self defense doesn't exist in Canada, you just get lucky occasionally by convincing a judge not to convict more innocents. Those are exceptions, not the rule.

What he's saying is still stupid though. It's his job to fight crime, not tell citizens to just accept the fact that he sucks at his job. The Toronto police don't do anything if your car is stolen. They just take your deposition and flag your car as stolen. They won't investigate and won't actively look for your car unless you put a tracker on it. Aside from that, your only chance of seeing your car again is if a cop finds it during a routine check.

      "a person is not justified for the purposes of subsection (1) in using force that is intended or is likely to cause death or grievous bodily harm unless the person believes on reasonable grounds that it is necessary for the self-preservation of the person or the preservation of any one under that person’s protection from death or grievous bodily harm."
      That's a direct copy and paste of Canada's criminal code. You can defend yourself up to and including lethal force if needed if Canada.
      Problem is that here in Canada most men are cowards and fools. So most are too afraid to defend themselves and pretend there are laws that say you can't. Some men here are so stupid they actually believe self defence is illegal.
