Thanks, After all the testing on shocks D&K has done I'm curious how these will perform. Fact is I'll be waiting for reports on braking system & traction control. I'm guessing you will give us a good report after a ride across the Rockies to vist granddaughter. Ride on
We'll be doing our objective testing with the bump recorder soon, but my subjective conclusion so far is that these coil overs are about a 30-40% improvement over the previous OEM air shocks. I've already done some reporting on the brakes, and am still doing testing on the TCS (about done), and have posted my comments at this link- www.triketalk.com/forum/threads/52983-Ongoing-2019-Tri-Glide-Build-Out-w-lots-of-photos-videos-and-observations
You've read my first impressions of the new coil overs. At first I thought they were better, but after doing a bunch of riding in varied circumstance, it became apparent that I could not find a sweet spot that worked well over a normal days riding at different speeds and different road surfaces. Then adding that sometimes I ride solo and sometimes with a passenger, that was even worse. I would prefer the air shocks over these new coil overs from HD. You can see our testing and charted results at this youtube- ruclips.net/video/Z4Dhg48_KQA/видео.html
I am now on my third Triglide ( 9 in all )with these shocks .The latest is a 2020 CVO.Because of our roads in New Zealand I have put OEM air shocks on all 3 units.I find it a much better ride.
Just picked up my first Tri Glide Ultra, a 2024, traded in my Street Glide Special. I have to look to see what it is set at, seems very stiff and hard when solo riding, better when my wife is on with me. Thank you for the informative video.
Congrats on your new Ride! Glad you like the video. Many folks can find the sweet spot on the shocks...hope this video helps you do that. If you cannot find a sweet spot, where the ride is comfortable for both of you, you may find the information at the following links useful. www.dkcustomproducts.com/overview-of-performance-rear-shocks-99.htm and www.dkcustomproducts.com/dk-custom-nexgentm-14-trike-series-shockstm-for-harley-davidson-trikes-2040.htm Wishing you many miles of Smiles!!!! I have a stupid question. All of your tourpac wiring is up an away from your seat bolt screw area. On my 2022 the wiring is right at the seat attachment bolt area. How do you have all that area at your tourpac for the wiring to fit in?😎😎
We are using a Tour Pak Relocation that gives the passenger more room. You can see a video on it below, and here is a link to the TP Relo- www.dkcustomproducts.com/tour-pak-relocator-for-harley-touring-trike-models-14-up-dk-14-tpr.htm ruclips.net/video/piEVdRIlIOY/видео.html Thank you for commenting! i tried 1 to 5 but when i hit a bump i bottom out with my girl on the back (tire hits the fender ) so thats why i bought your lift kit w/ shocks hope it works better. I'll let you know as soon as im done....and it gets a little warmer out, it's around 30 or less now.
I checked my air suspension and it was set at 15...I lowered it to 2. I have the 2019 Tri Glide Ultra as well, and mine didn't come with elevated thumb screw? Can I get that at a HD Dealer? I just ordered a backrest and bracket, so thx to seeing yours, now I know how it goes on. Thanks!!👊
When you say you checked your air suspension....are you talking about your 2019 Tri Glide? The 19 TG comes from the factory with coil over shocks that are Not air suspension. Adjusting the knob changes the pre-load hydraulically. The seat is supposed to come with an elevated thumb screw, the dealer will have it, or can order it.
If you did a Comfort Lift™ (see link below) then it will ride a bit softer, and would use a bit more pre-load than without. If you are using a regular lift kit, no, does not make a difference. The book is not accurate anyway, experiment around to find the best ride quality. If you cannot find a good ride quality, regardless of adjustments, this is not unusual. The OEM shocks are not so great. You're not kidding. We never were able to find a sweet spot on these shocks. At first we thought they were better than the air shocks. They are not. Cool. We appreciate your business. You are going to be very surprised at how much better it rides over the factory set up.

Does it make a difference if you have added a one and a half rear lift kit?

Does this apply to the 2017 model year?
No, the 2017 models have air shocks.
What is the best set of slip Ons for a trike 20 tomorrow?
22. Model.

Absolutely agree! 👍
Ditch the OEM shocks install the Legends

Good BUT- Harley screwed that all up. Im 240 and my passenger is close to 220. Minus any jokes the settings dont account for what REAL people weigh.
