CM meets Amit Shah, seeks additional security in border areas

  • Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Monday met Union Home Minister (HM) Amit Shah in New Delhi and briefed him about the commendable vigilance done by the Border Security Force (BSF) and the Indian Army along the border areas of Meghalaya.
    The CM also apprised Shah on the precautionary steps taken by the state government amid the Bangladesh unrest in the volatile border areas, including the imposition of night curfew.
    Sangma informed that the state government also requested additional manpower to man the international borders of Meghalaya, for which Shah assured examining the situation and taking necessary action.
