- I think this trade looks good for Calgary, though I understand what Philly is doing here as well.

I don’t know how other fans of the NHL and THG feel but I think these are the best videos on the channel, reporting on news of a trade or signing or important update relating to the league as a whole. Unbiased assessments about every team and seemingly every player is covered here. Hockey is much more than just box scores and it was previously difficult to keep up with everything going on across the NHL, making it less enjoyable to watch a random game going on. In the US, no one really does a good job of it in a comprehensive way like other pro sports. However, since I have followed this channel over the last number of years, I am watching more hockey and appreciating the game that much more; I am a Rangers fan but watched this video to learn more. “Knowledge is Power!” Keep up the great work Shannon!
Kuzmenko and Torts are gonna be something 😂
I’m a bit concerned for Kuzmenko’s safety…
It's almost as if he asks for or wants these types of guys, just to bag on them
You think Tocchet gave him a bad time 😅. Oh boy just wait.
Yeah poor Kuz
@@mikeruxpin2829 ufa at end of year home to Russia he goes
gonna miss pelletier. His energy was something else, sucks to lose such a positive locker room guy
He was hot too atm , great return atleast
As an Oilers fan as well as a Moncton Wildcats fan, I was sad to see him traded until I realized how much I hate the Flames 😂
Frost and Farabee were the two players the Flyers took with the picks they acquired from the Blues in the Brayden Schenn trade.
That 2028 7th rounder is what makes this trade excellent for the Flyers. 😀
sweetnened just a touch
I hope Kuzmenko can go on a bit of an offensive run and score some goals. He was fun to watch that first year in Vancouver
💯%
Both those players weren’t going to move the needle for Philly. Briere said before the season he’s evaluating, glad to see he’s finally doing something about it.
The flames now have all the ingredients to create frost fire lol
Sad to see Pelletier go, hope he keeps up his pace
Just shouldn’t show up, I wouldn’t if I had to play there
@ I’m worried for him and Torts
@@brockjames9394 request a trade back immediately 🤷♂️ never thought I’d feel bad for a kid making $800,000 a year to play hockey
Shannon, tuck in the tag on your hat 😂
Really sad to see Peltier go. He was tight with Huby and Scoronato and he had such good energy. Hope he does well in Philly
The Flyers just acquired two of the most optimistic guys in the league. 😃😃
Going to be interesting seeing them with Torts.
Torts: *Benches* Mitchkov...... Briere: Best I can do is trade for his friend Kuzmenko who gets benched in Calgary.
I like Frost, I am excited to see what he does in Calgary
Morgan Frost is now a part of a Song of Ice and Fire
Frost and Farabee were given so many opportunities with so many different line mates over the years and they never amounted to anything. I knew the Farabee contract was a massive overpay when it was signed. Finally good to see the Flyers shedding some of these 3rd line at best players that disappear for large stretches of time year after year. They had about 6 or 7 "lets see if they take the next step" players, and most have not in the slightest. Time to move on.
In some defense of Farabee, he was living up to that contract from the time he signed it as an extension until he had surgery - he just hasn't been the same since then, unfortunately.
Really like Kuzmenko. I don't know the full details on why Vancouver traded him, but his first year was amazing. My impression is he has more to give than these last years have shown, and I'm rooting for him and hope that he can have a resurgence with the Flyers.
No, just no, his first season with Vancouver was a complete mirage, all that scoring came in a defensively chaotic environment where players were pretty much free to go stat chasing as soon as the towel got thrown in on season, which was pretty much from the get go when the team went winless in the first six games of the season. As soon as Tocchet came in and brought some structural continuity to the team, and Kuzmenko started being held accountable(at least more consistently) for his defensive lapses, the production just cratered, and I have to believe that it was a similar situation with Ryan Huska and the Flames. Then there's the fact of matter that Tort's is probably the last bench boss that's going to foster any sort of offensive turnaround from him.
he needs a good coach who can trust him and play offensive hockey rather than sticking to their own zone, and just unleash him
Been waiting for you THG
Flames seem to have good pro scouts
Conroy was heavily involved in the scouting before becoming GM. He definitely has a good eye for talent.
Kuzmenko wont even play under Torts
As a Flyers fan, I don’t mind the trade. Frost and Farabee were not going to be in Philly much longer, Kuzmenko may give Michkov a boost of confidence which is exactly what he and Philly need. I’ve heard Pelletier and Kuzmenko are great locker room guys. I would like Philly to add more size and sandpaper to the line up though.
I’m conflicted on this trade. I think Farabee and Frost will be great fits in Calgary and Kuzmenko really needed a change of scenery. But I feel like the price to get these two guys was quite high.
farabee cap hit is 5 mil and kuzmenkos in 5 .5mil. Frost is 1 mill and Pelt is 800k. flames traded a spotty forward who will not do well in philly if torts is there and a young pelts who hasnt proved anything. I like it for calgary.
Not really
I love this trade, honestly a great trade.
Flames win but pelts will turnout to be the best player in the trade years from now
Really wanted Frost to work out and re-sign here. I believe he’s got 70pt potential in him, but just couldn’t get to it here. Farabee is the one who I thought would/should be traded and he hasn’t been that good the past year.
Get a younger/cheaper fara/frost player in Pelletier.
If Kuzy can get back to his Vancouver days then I’m okay with it. Doubtful they’ll re-sign him or they’ll retain money and trade at the deadline.
Farabee sort of a cap dump? 3x5M.. maybe Philly is looking to add next offseason?
Joel Farabee skates like he’s carrying a piano on his back
Just the guy i wanted to hear from.
I miss those Flames jerseys, I’m not a huge fan of the current ones
This will be great for Frost and Farabee, and the Flyers. A change of scenery for the two might help them shake off the funk that they seemed to have slunk into. The Flyers shift a contract, get some picks, 2 players that they're not on the hook for if they don't work out, and a little breathing room in their crummy cap situation. With their mountain of picks and a little breathing room, the Flyers might be able to eventually land some talent that they desperately need.
Everybody's wheelin' and dealin'. Except Vancouver. They stuck in the mud.
Lol
This makes me happy… now just trade over Petterson
Pittsburgh is in the same boat or I suppose mud on this and I don't expect them to be able to do much about it while still thinking they have a chance at playoffs. Too afraid to admit it's time to make moves and retool/rebuild even tho the contracts make that difficult
Hughes historic season wasted. Gotta thank Alvin.
That's what you get for trading Trading Horvat and signing the Cancer that's Miller
The Flames robbed the Flyers.
The season for trades 😮
Damn, I know they wouldn't trade him to the Devils but we sure could use a Farabee and a Frost, and we gotta lotta seconds
just realized it was a 2nd and a 7th instead of 2 2nds i was like why does everyone like this trade for calgary so heavily
People saying Kuz wouldn't get along with/will be terrorized by Torts are funny, dude is nothing compared to some coaches in Russia
Poor kuzy what is happening to his career man. What a cheerful guy. I wish he had worked out on the Canucks
I hoped he worked for the flames, he wasn’t bad last year but haven’t been able to get anything going this year apart from last week
Way to streaky...great guy ...certainy has the skill ...not enough finish
As a Flames fan I'm going to miss Pelletier, but it is really hard to complain about the return. I've wanted Morgan Frost for a while now and I've really become a fan of Farabee too.
I think Conroy did great here.
Career averages...
Kuzmenko 28 Goals 58 points
Farabee 19 Goals 43 points
Frost 15 Goals 40 points
Pelletier 11 Goals 29 points
Frost getting traded seems odd and Farabee makes sense. This is a balanced trade and I think the start of the pre deadline deadline.
Most of the comments I was seeing from Flyers fans was that they liked both Frost and Farabee, but they just were never going to reach their full potential with Torts, and a loooooootttt of ppl wish they could be a fly on the wall when Kuze meets Torts for the first time haha
After thinking of it I like the deal for CGY , makes our Center depth even better with Frost I could see Farabee getting slotted in on the top line with Kadri and Huberdeau
You’re fast bro damn haha
I am a Flyers fan. Farabee had a few good years. He got injured and has not regained his form. Maybe he will in Calgary. I hope so, he is a good guy ( a lot of money for a maybe). Frost has just failed to impress
Unreal indeed
Torts gonna love pelts
I’d request a trade out of there immediately
Flames get the best 2 players in this trade? Seriously? Every player in this trade are in absolute slumps lol. Both teams win with the respective cap dumps they did.
Flyers did trade two 40-50 point scorers to struggling player and unproven one with few draft picks, looks yikes to me right now😬
Michkov is gonna take off with kuzzy on the team, great move for philly.
Flyers fleeced
The Flames definitely got the better end of the deal.
Calgary looking to win that WC2.
More pressure on VC Soap Opera.
Kuzzie a deadline flip trade to a playoff team needing scoring depth.
Torts out as HC after season is over. He has reached his ceiling with this team.
A rental scoring winger, a kid who was on waivers last month, a 2nd and 7th for Frost and Farabee? WTF is Philly doing?
They're doing what makes sense for a rebuilding team. They traded two players with levels of production they are not happy with for two possible improvements with a little sugar on top. If nothing else, you can consider this as getting out from a 5m cap hit contract that you're not interested in and being rewarded with a 2nd and 7th round pick.
@N1NJ4P1R4T3 if they were going to trade Frost and Farabee, they could have gotten way better value. For a random example, you could have probably gotten Kãmpf and TOR 1ST 2025 for Frost. Then gotten a rental winger and 2nd rounder and another pick for Farabee.
@@kingtchenka628 Nobody is giving up a 1st for Frost, you're overrating him massively
@kingtchenka628 the value is just not there. Dumping them as a sure thing is better than sitting on them and potentially losing
@N1NJ4P1R4T3 They are worth more than Briere got. They're also not expiring UFAs. Wait for the right deal
So they'll be sitting on the bench together. 😂
Love Pelts but I do like this trade
Good trade for Calgary.
Kuzy gon be torts by torturella 😂
I think the hard part is Farabee at 6 million a year. Thats the problem, and Frost will want a raise. It does hurt in my opinion as a Flyers fan I think seeing two younger forwards go, but at 25ish for Frost and Farabee they are "known quanaties" Flyers now have what 8 picks in the first two rounds this year? Is it a deep draft class? I actually don't know.
Really gonna miss the head kissing golden retreiver energy.. but huge return for someone has has under preformed and another who could have been claimed for free earlier in the season.
Makes you wonder if he wasnt going to extend here anyways when his contract was up.
Necessary trade for both teams...will miss pelts i know this will hit him pretty hard
I'm not sure how well Kuzmenko is going to get along with Tortorella. Tortorella is a defence first guy, and I don't think Kuzmenko is. I personally like Kuzmenko, but not sure how that will work out.
Frost & Flame
Imagine the face Torts made after hearing that he has to deal with another russian 💀
Now get a proper 1C
Torts has a way of destroying the love for the game. Not sure if these players will transition well under Torts leadership. I see Farabee's and Frost's game improving in Calgary.
I'm not that excited but maybe Calgary got lucky?? Hope so.
2 and 7 for that? A player that could likely be flipped for a 3rd even in the next couple weeks? I think it is fairly close, but edge to CGY, all depends on how Pelletier does.
Philly dumps 2 underperforming prospects from the failed Hextall Era and frees up cap space going forward. I'm all for the team getting worse this year and getting better odds for the draft lottery. They still need a 1C and 1D. Collect those ping-pong balls!
Kuzminko. Nucks not going to make it right 😂😂😂
Huh?
I would have traded Grubauer, a 2nd & 7th for a bag of pucks.
Seattle should offer Grubauer Schwartz Mahura for Fedotov Ristolainen Deslauriers
@@kingtchenka628 philly already has a goalie they're paying 5m to sit in the minors. why would they want another?
if the kraken want out of that contract they'll have to buy their way out of it, or include a 1st with it.
Flyers can flip Kuz for another 2nd at the deadline. Also 15 million off the books for Philly
😂 your not getting a 2nd for kuzmenko
Personally, I think Philly gets the edge in this one. But it’s a great trade for both teams nonetheless.
Please wear Philly for the trade video... please wear Philly for the trade video...
DARNIT.
I'm good with this though, Torts didn't seem to like either player. Get some cap room next year, get some picks and a Russian to talk to Michkov since Kolosov gone, Fedotov not awesome. I'll take it. But am curious what shoe drops next.
I don't get this trade, maybe the Flyers are salary dumping? Torts is not every player's cup of tea...Lol
FLEECED
As a flyers fan I’m not shocked we take the L on another trade same shit different regime
This is a low risk, all upside trade for Philly. Trade 2 underperforming players, one with 3 more years on his 5m cap hit contract, to pick up 2 possible improvements with expiring contracts, a 2nd, and a 7th. Even if the talent, stats, etc of the players don't align, there's no doubting that the Flyers got a lot of value from this trade, and not at any great expense to Calgary.
There is no L on this at all though. I don't understand why everyone keeps saying Flames won this trade. They both won. It was a trade to shed some cap space and to get rid of players who are not performing that great. This was mostly to get Kuzmenko-Michkov relationship going since they were teammates in St. Petersburg. He can be that direct translation for Michkov because he clearly isn't grasping what Torts is wanting from him, thus why he is getting benched. There was no clear cut winner. They both won.
Frost is an amazing puck handler... unique talent - Flyers need more size, but IMHO they lost two potential future all-star players in this trade.. I guess it is GO EAGLES.
Weird teams keep giving up on there 1st round picks go flames go
