As a Flyers fan, here is my opinion of Frost and Farabee. I loved Farabee as a rookie and thought he was going to be a star on this team. Then he had neck surgery in 2022 and honestly has never been the same player. I don’t know if it affected his skating, his confidence, but some major injuries just derail a career. Frost is a nice player who has stretches of playing really well and then disappears for 10-15 games. Both are former 1st round picks so i felt they underachieved in that respect. Why did the Flyers do the deal? It’s all about the 2025 draft and 2026 Free Agency for our rebuild. We now have 3 first round picks and 4 second round picks in the upcoming draft and will have huge cap room in 2026. This was a win for both teams because they are on different trajectories.
@@drillbabydrill25-d6p Farabee has 29 points in his last 81 games. He had 50 points last year, yes, but 40 of them came in the first 50 games. Then he fell off a cliff. I think Farabee can be a good player and I hope he finds his way. But I get why we moved him.
@@chrisolivo6591 Yep, lots of cap space and seven draft picks in the first two rounds which I am excited about. Briere has to make his mark though with drafting some pure goal scorers and playmakers because the team lacks offense. If he does that then he will break away from the pattern of this team drafting fringe 2nd and 3rd line players over the past decade.
Flyers have one line, the Cates line, Frost and Farabee have had different line mates and haven't found any fit. The Flyers PP is at the bottom of the league and both Frost and Farabee have gotten plenty of PP time. Sometimes it just doesn't work and you need to move on.
I’m a Flyers fan but this was an absolute home run for the Flames. Farabee can be a top six forward in Calgary and Frost is still a solid piece even if his ceiling remains as a third line center. Calgary will definitely make the playoffs this year and both players will benefit with a change in scenery. Kuzmenko is a wildcard and could benefit playing a long side Michkov and he could also help their lack luster power play. Pelletier has potential but with Barkey, Lycksell, and Tuomaala in the fold he’s really going to have to earn a spot. I think Briere is definitely going to use those three first round picks to get even younger and Luchanko will definitely be here next season. If Kuzmenko finds his game then Briere will be able to extend him or if not he can use the open cap space for a decent ufa center.
@ Calgary won the deal but I think Briere had to make this move. Farabee and Frost were underachieving here. They’ll benefit going to the Flames. But you already know Luchanko will immediately replace Frost next season. If Kuzmenko elevates his game with Michkov then this could be a good move and Briere could extend him. But what you really have is three first round picks in a deep 2025 draft pool to keep the youth movement going, plus cap flexibility which will allow them to add a good forward who can produce offensively. A couple guys they could target are Drouin or Tsyplakov. Main thing for Briere to focus strictly on offense and drafting guys that put the puck in the net with authority. They have a major need to bring in goal scorers and not drafting fringe second or third line forwards.
@@theemodernmonk problem is Flyers keep needing to make these type of deals where they ship out young talent (Cutter) and getting marginal returns. I also think Briere is getting too comfortable with these sell low on young talent type trades. D- trade imo.
@@drillbabydrill25-d6p Drysdale has a lot of potential. I think he is trying to cement his team post Hextall and post Fletcher but I agree he did give up a lot in this deal. I don’t think he had a choice in this situation with two guys underachieving here. They’ll both benefit in Calgary though. There is still a young nucleus of players with Michkov, Luchanko, Foerster, Brink, Cates, Tippett, York, and Drysdale. And then you have guys like Andrae, Gill, Bonk, Barkey, Tuomaala, and Lycksell who have potential to be here full time next season. He has seven picks in the first two rounds in a deep draft so that will help with continuing the rebuild process. But I’d like to see him focus on drafting some pure goal scorers and playmakers. They absolutely need help on offense because they can’t score goals. Adding a veteran forward or two like a Drouin or Tsyplakov could help but this draft is going to be key. Briere’s main goal is trying to find a balance between veterans and young players. It’s a formula for success. Just look at Colorado and Florida in recent years who have a great balance between the two and won Stanley Cup. I am definitely for the youth movement but they’ll need to add couple vets that can score goals this offseason.
I'm a Flyers fan and i will tell you this about Farabee when i watched him on TV you will hear his name alot and i like that he hustled and gave effort all the time.

This looks like a win for Conroy. if it works out, I'd prefer this type of team building compared to burning it down to get a mystery top 5 draft pick that may or may not pan out.
When I think of Frost and Farabee there is one word “Inconsistency”. Flyers will drop a ton of cap. They take a flyer on Kuzmenko. This is an about salary flexibility.
Flyers fan here, your take is correct, imo. Love Farabee, he’s def someone who could do well with the right change of scenery. Analytically, he’s regarded very well he just wasn’t putting the biscuit in the basket. He could be the one that got away. Frost is who he is. Maybe he gets some chemistry on a good line and scores more, but the flash he showed in minors never materialized in NHL. Unless this is the set up for another deal, or there is another 1st coming or something, we lose this trade. Clearing Farabee’s $5M for 3 years is a good thing if we take a swing for a decent center this summer, that’s my only guess here. A 7th?! Really? SMH 🤦🏻♂️
This for me would be a much more exciting trade by both teams if I'd of heard, or knew anything about any of these guys. Go Flames and whats his face Flyers!
As a flyers fan I think the flames are gonna get the best out of farabee and frost. Frost has great puck skills and I can already see him and Huberdeau having great chemistry

These 2 players have bin trapped in Torterella Hell ...good move flames and even better they never gave up a pick in the 2026 draft which is much deeper and better then this 2025 weak draft
How much longer are we in Philly going to have to deal with torts.this guy isn’t getting any of these young guys better..torts has to go soon.give him the rest of the year ,this has to be his last year ..we need a coach that gets the younger talent .two players that were the future of the flyers that got so much worse under torts
As a Flyers fan, moving on from Frost and Farabee doesn't bother me. Farabee has been under-performing for too long and Frost never evolved to what the Flyers had hoped. I think a change of scenery will benefit both of them. Honestly, I feel both players didn't get along well with Torts. I don't think this trade helps the Flyers much, unless they are trying to build another trade. Let's see how long it takes Torts to bench Kuzmenko.
There better off in Calgary…Philly is well known for beating players down and just being a shit organization all together, I feel bad for Peltier and Kuzzy having g to go play for Doucherella, how do guys like that even get jobs in the “new “ NHL, this guys bad for business, but good for the flames…keep torts behind the bench and watch the assets leave, how does this guy get jobs….😂😂😂😂😂😂

Agree with the majority of what you said. I could see both rebounding with some decent numbers, but their inconsistency can’t be overlooked considering how high up in the pecking order they both were supposed to be by now. They drastically underachieved, so good riddance and good luck.
Yeah, and how much of their attitude was caused by Torts. Until he’s gone, the Flyers will be just good enough to get a crappy draft pick, but too good to get a high draft pick.
You aren’t kidding. I think Philly had to make this deal because both players were underachieving there. They will make an immediate impact in Calgary and the Flames will make the playoffs. As a flyers fan I wish them both success but don’t get too excited about Frost. Frost looks better than what he is. Makes a flashy play here and there but most times he ends up turning over the puck. We desperately need a center and if they are getting rid of him… it’s saying something. Hopefully, he just needs the change of scenery

People saying frost being a healthy scratch? You look at the tyrant wrong and yer scratched. Not even a flames fan far from, but pretty sure husks will get more out of him. Well done by the flames.
Peltier had 2 good games total for the Flames and everyone went nuts. 2 games. Passed waivers earlier this year. Kuzmenko was not going to produce for the Flames. A 2nd has some prospective value and a 7th is a bag of pucks. So Connie got 2 former high draft picks who were kind of stagnating to try to turn around, both of whom are regular lineup forwards. Both fall into the catagory of young players which is Connies goal. What more do you want for what was given up? Connie is not too shabby at the trading game. Solid if not spectacular young players.
Farabee was a mid round 1st (14th in 2018) and Frost was a late 1st rounder (27th in 2017). Both are middle 6 guys on a good team and both underperformed in top 6 roles when given plenty of opportunity.
Really wanted Frost to work out and re-sign here. I believe he’s got 70pt potential in him, but just couldn’t get to it here. Farabee is the one who I thought would/should be traded and he hasn’t been that good the past year. Get a younger/cheaper fara/frost player in Pelletier. If Kuzy can get back to his Vancouver days then I’m okay with it. Doubtful they’ll re-sign him or they’ll retain money and trade at the deadline. Farabee sort of a cap dump? 3x5M.. maybe Philly is looking to add next offseason?
good move for both teams flames get 2 young players with upside.Flyers get a 2nd and 7th and basically will flip kuzemenko for a 2nd or 3rd and pelletier will hit the minors.
Frost and Farabee are consistently inconsistent. One or both had to go. These are two guys who were supposed to be part of the nucleus in Philly, and they under-performed. Flyers are freeing up cap space to make moves this summer and next.
Frost is in his 6th season, he is what he is. Most of his career points came at the end of seasons during meaningless hockey games for a team thats missed the playoffs every year after his rookie season. He's a 3C on a cup contender, not someone you count on to get you over the hump.
@ Have no problem moving either player its just the returns are light. Farabee is still young and had 50 pts last year. 6' also. All he could get back was player that was on waivers and is 5'9? For me that 2nd rounder needed to be a 1st.
Don't hate the deal at all. These two might not have crazy upside, but they're much better than the two guys we gave up. Much more than a 2nd and a 7th worth of value in my opinion.😊
Will kinda miss Farabee, but won't miss Frost. So much potential wasted with these 2 guys. I think the Flyers won this trade. Plus add 2 more draft picks. The Flyers are loaded with draft picks for the 2025 Draft. Flyers are still rebuilding, so still a long road for the Flyers.
The last 2 seasons have been the most competitive the team has been since 2020. He's made hockey watchable in Philly with a roster that isnt full of high end talent. Things are going in the right direction in Philly, just need more talent.
Flyers desperately need a 1C. They have Couts who can't get traded for a long time unless he waves his no trade clause, and you have Jett waiting to jump up to the NHL. Unfortunately for Farabee and Frost, they just weren't going to fit for the Flyer after this year
I'm excited that the Flyers moved on from these 2 players. Neither could score, Frost, an extremely slow starter, is a turnover machine and the Flyers clear $5m off their books going forward. Here's to the lottery odds being in Philly's favor this summer.
I'm having a hard time understanding the Flyers moves. They chose not to draft Zeev Buium in favour of Luchanko and a 3rd rounder (and I like Luchanko but Zeev is a superior prospect by a good margin). Now, they clearly lost this trade when it comes to value. Frost and Farabee are good NHLers. You get two 25 year old, middle six guys with top 6 potential for a healthy scratch, a small prospect, a 2nd and a 7th? That's an absolute steal.
Frost is the king of healthy scratches. It’s hilarious to me how everyone is trying to act like Farabee and Frost have been anything but unreliable for Philly. Sincerely hope they both do well in Calgary, but they have both been on the chopping block for a while for good reason.
Farabee isn’t the most defensive forward. Not very responsible for the puck. His TOs for breakaways and points knock down his offensive potential. Frost is the overall better player but he’s just average. Win for both teams.
All these players stink ! I I been watching Frost and Farabee for years. I'm more Concerned with Torts sitting Michkov all third period instead of letting him learn on the ice.
Torts got to go. We need a coach who can develop young talent. We gave the flames two good players. Skilled players. Torts not winning or developing players. We need coach change ASAP!!!
THIS is why I have pretty much abandoned the Flyers. Loved Danny and Keith as players, but they are horrible running the team. Gave these guys away, just like he did Gauthier. Torts killed Farabee and Frost, and will ruin Michkov too. Until he’s gone, I’m out. And let’s face it, Danny got lucky with Michkov falling into his lap, but otherwise, what has he done as GM?
Flames won ST but you’re really overvaluing Frost & Farabee. Decent players but no way are you getting 40+ goals. Good Luck with that. Flyers win LT in cap space and a 2nd.
Speaking of bad decisions, I see the Flames just went out and traded for Morgan Frost and Joel Farabee? A fourth liner and 6th defenseman Now, look, I get it-they’re hoping these guys can step up, but come on. Frost? The guy can barely crack the lineup on a third-tier team, and Farabee-he wouldn’t even make the Oilers' bottom six. Let’s be real, even the Oilers' fourth line would skate circles around them. What are the Flames doing? It’s like they’re shopping in the bargain bin and thinking they’ve found diamonds. Good luck with that, Calgary! Maybe next time they’ll just trade for a couple of pucks and a bag of sticks."
Farabee and frost are both forwards, wtf are you smoking buddy. Once I saw that, your word and credibility went out the window, look at who we traded, KUZMENKO, for one Is someone I would have thought we would have to trade a 4th or 5th just to get rid of him, and a injury burden small forward, who’s taken 3 years of constant chances in the nhl to make it and failure after failure, he played 7-8 good games lately this year, and boom we go a return…for someone who cleared waivers and a 5.5 million inconsistent Russian.
Are the flyers panicking again. Give players a chance to grow. Bad trade for the flyers. We need someone who can score. They bring in players who’s not scoring. We need scoring!!!
Flyers have been shopping both these guys for a while now. Obviously, the rest of the league agrees that they aren’t worth giving much up for. There’s a good reason for that. They’ve both underperformed in a big way. Lots of potential, but what good is potential if you can’t reach it?
Torts got to go. We need a coach who can develop young talent. We gave the flames two good players. Skilled players. Torts not winning or developing players. We need coach change ASAP!!!

Just putting this out there, wolfie was a 7th rounder, now all the flames fans scream kipper 2.0. 7th isn’t a bag of pucks necessarily
@@c-bo8188yeah but that’s super rare.
Flames fleeced Flyers. Farabee was 50 point player. Frost is young Center. Briere doesn't know how to win trade in Philly.
Hes already won 2 trades moving Provorov and getting a first for walker.
Frost and Farabee are consistently inconsistent. One or both had to go. These are two guys who were supposed to be part of the nucleus in Philly, and they under-performed. Flyers are freeing up cap space to make moves this summer and next.
You clearly never watched a flyers game.
Michkov is gonna go off with kuzzy as a teamate great for flyers
I wish Farabee and Frost the best of luck.
Lol, love to see Phlly flounder with Doucherella.
The last 2 seasons have been the most competitive the team has been since 2020. He's made hockey watchable in Philly with a roster that isnt full of high end talent. Things are going in the right direction in Philly, just need more talent.
Frost’s feet are frozen, watch his lacklustre feet
First move before another before Philly
Flyers desperately need a 1C. They have Couts who can't get traded for a long time unless he waves his no trade clause, and you have Jett waiting to jump up to the NHL. Unfortunately for Farabee and Frost, they just weren't going to fit for the Flyer after this year
Philly finally embracing a rebuild not retool
Agree. What has Danny done as GM, other than luck into Michkov?
Farabee isn’t the most defensive forward. Not very responsible for the puck. His TOs for breakaways and points knock down his offensive potential. Frost is the overall better player but he’s just average. Win for both teams.
Flyergood trade
Calgary loses two youngsters, and buddy calls Frost and whoever "age appropriate" for the Flames. WTF does that even mean?
All these players stink ! I I been watching Frost and Farabee for years. I'm more Concerned with Torts sitting Michkov all third period instead of letting him learn on the ice.
Frank is the world's biggest flyers hater of all time
Torts got to go. We need a coach who can develop young talent. We gave the flames two good players. Skilled players. Torts not winning or developing players. We need coach change ASAP!!!
Flyers fan: Frost and Farabee stink.
Farabee frost they bust draft just like Nolan Patrick
I think meant 40 plus goals combined, which is possible that they could score 20 each or 15 & 25
Flames win, big time...wow. Flyers GM is clueless...
Playoff team for sure
