This isn’t the story of a chill sleep paralysis demon, that isn’t it. This is a description of someone’s life, all of their ups and downs. It is a beautifully chaotic one. I feel as if I have connected with something. I don’t know what, but I feel like I am attached to something now.

Well it was kind obvious the rains refilled the soul, bug thing our live take from the ocean that is our souls. So he may have been the dark ones because he chose a path that made him disconnect from the world.
I love how everyone anticipates these endings to be a bad one, so much that you'll automatically assume the worst. This was actually a really beautiful ending. As Lex fell into his spiral, the demon told him "your soul tastes very different", with the implication that he dislikes the taste. When the demon says at the end, "your soul tastes much better now" it meant that Lex's soul had been restored to the size of an ocean after the demon had given him back the drops of Lex's soul he had taken. It's an odd line, but it's very sweet.

I've always loved listening to creepypastas, got my daughter really into them too. This beautifully written story always brings me to tears and has always been our favorite. This story really speaks to me. It is hard to not see this as a metaphor for depression, of one's soul diminishing. A story of nearly losing everything, only to be brought back from the brink of self-destruction. Besides the thematic elements, the story does so much world-building in such a minimalistic way. Demons are those who fully fall into the darkness, the sleep paralysis demon just a part of some form of ecosystem fueled by conscious and unconscious thought, there is a lot of stuff here. I can only wonder if Stick Legs was once human or if they are something else.
makes me think of the occasional dealers that, for whatever reason, do shit like encourage former customers that turn their lives around all the way to suddenly deciding to bulldoze one of their customers into getting sober and back on the right track.

Well it was kind obvious the rains refilled the soul, bug thing our live take from the ocean that is our souls. So he may have been the dark ones because he chose a path that made him disconnect from the world.

The end scared me quite a bit just the "Child your soul tastes much better now" I thought my guy turned into a dark one
I love how everyone anticipates these endings to be a bad one, so much that you'll automatically assume the worst. This was actually a really beautiful ending. As Lex fell into his spiral, the demon told him "your soul tastes very different", with the implication that he dislikes the taste. When the demon says at the end, "your soul tastes much better now" it meant that Lex's soul had been restored to the size of an ocean after the demon had given him back the drops of Lex's soul he had taken. It's an odd line, but it's very sweet.

this has got to be one of the best stories
This story really speaks to me. It is hard to not see this as a metaphor for depression, of one's soul diminishing. A story of nearly losing everything, only to be brought back from the brink of self-destruction. Besides the thematic elements, the story does so much world-building in such a minimalistic way. Demons are those who fully fall into the darkness, the sleep paralysis demon just a part of some form of ecosystem fueled by conscious and unconscious thought, there is a lot of stuff here. I can only wonder if Stick Legs was once human or if they are something else.
makes me think of the occasional dealers that, for whatever reason, do shit like encourage former customers that turn their lives around all the way to suddenly deciding to bulldoze one of their customers into getting sober and back on the right track.
