I have had the older model H&B Enduro unlined cases for 3 different drum kits. I have shipped internationally with no issues for cases, drums or cymbals.
My SKB cases have reached their limit. The clasps have cracked and broken off. The foam lining falls apart. The glue doesn’t seem to hold up with temperature changes . That’s my assumption. I am inspired now to give these H&B cases a chance. Have you experienced, or heard, anyone complain about the foam liner falling apart after a while with these H&B cases? How about the clasps cracking and breaking from falling or stacking? Thanks for the video review. Great job.
Hi Dan. Every person I've talked to about H&B cases love them! No one has complained about parts breaking. Obviously my case is far too new to have problems yet. But it certainly feels robust enough to handle some falls and normal wear and tear without any issues.
I have two kits and both have H&B enduro cases. One set is all black, the other I got in purple. The black ones are regular but the purple ones I got fully foam lined. Absolutely the best cases made Never had any issues with the cases or the job they do.
H&B are absolutely the best cases and I'm not sponsored by them. I've had an Enduro cymbal case for 20+ years. It's been through multiple national tours and has never failed. In 2020, I bought a built-to-order 9 piece Yamaha Absolute Hybrid Maple that might as well be a Ferrari to me. I bought a full fleet of H&B Enduro Pro cases. I have custom kick & tom dimensions and H&B cases are available in exact lengths but you have to order them directly from H&B. I use the black cases except for snares. I use a different color for each snare so I can quickly identify each one. They stack and stay put on my cart. One rolled off of a loading dock and wasn't even out of tune. They've been out in the rain and the drums stayed dry. The cases can nest into each other. I've said enough...if you have a high end kit and play professionally, these are a set of lifetime cases.
❤ Great review! I need space in my tiny 16x24 studio, so I need to stack my road kits in the corner. I have ocds about stacking drums without hard cases. Its too damaging to the heads. (My tone is basically gone within a week of being stacked). Problem is, I've never liked hard cases because they offer little to no interior padding. Not so with these cases. Looks like Im about to break the piggy.😂
That's high praise! Yeah, they seem well built. I have had no problem using them in our school situation. And with high school kids they can get beat up fast.
I have several kits and use Humes and Berg for all of them. I use a combination of Enduros and Tuxedo bags as an inside liner. That way I have the option of just pulling the bag out of the Enduro case for in town gigs if space is tight in the vehicle. I am in the process of color coding The Enduros for each kit but as you mentioned colors other than black are hard to find in stores and there are long wait times to order from H&B directly. For that reason I am looking into refinishing the black ones.
@@michaelmartin1552 if you do end up refinishing the cases yourself, I'd love to know how it works out for you. That could be a very cool option over waiting for H&B.
Don't make a special order to H&B. I've been waiting 3 years for a combo case to arrive. I've used H&B since 1974, but now I'm thinking there are too many other newer offerings around for me to screw with them anymore. BTW SKB staps suck. I rotate between 3-5 kits -- I used a lot of hard cases. I'll check out this interesting looking video after I'm done writing ANOTHER letter to H&B -- W-T-F is my case!?!
Yeah, my road rep for the store my school uses said wait times are unbelievably long for anything custom. And plain new product is taking longer than expected. It gets incredibly frustrating. Better to under promise and over deliver anymore.

That's awesome! I think they're incredible cases. I'm planning on ordering some soon.

Great cases for a touring drummer too bulky for me playing in local pubs around town, I use soft cases myself !
I can totally understand that decision.

Yeah, these cases are killer! I'm seriously considering replacing my current cases.

Yeah, I'm sold on H & B! They will definitely be the cases for my next kit.
Well, that sealed the deal for me. I’ll be getting a set of Humes & Berg cases at the end of the month for a west coast tour this fall. Great review!
Glad I was able to help you out. Yeah, this Humes & Berg case is really well made. Best on your tour. By chance, will you be hitting Vegas?
@@KirksDrumRoom Not this time around, sticking the coast from San Francisco to Portland.
@@anthonyschillacidrums If you ever get to Vegas let me know. I'll try to catch your gig.
Thank you, this was informative and I will definitely go with those ebduro pros if I rock hard cases.
Yeah, those cases are top notch.
Wonderful video man!
So helpful
Thanks so much for the compliment!

These seem to be GREAT cases. Solid!
If you love Humes and berg drum cases, raise your hand!
My hand is raised! 🖐

Going on 20 years with my skb cases. Only complain i have is the inner lining coming undone. Other than that cases are built tough...

You can test stacking by placing just the cover under the bottom of the case ☝️
Excellent point!
Thanks! Very good discussion!
Many thanks for watching!
stack the lid and the bottom.
Such a well thought out design. 👍🏻
