This is a demo of the Vupoint Portable Scanner PDS-ST-470R-VP also known as Magic Wand IV in their series of portable scanners.
We will start with looking at what is contained in the box, and follow it up with a scanning demo and show you the results.
In summary, I am quite happy with the ease of use and the quality of scans from this portable scanner, which comes with the advantage that there are no batteries to replace from time to time.
Note on 20-Nov-2020:
This product may have lost its relevance in the present times. It was a good and useful product in 2014. However, smart phones with very good scanning apps have made life easy. A decent smart phone provides most of the essential scanning needs including pdf output.

agreed. great video. answered a lot of questions that other videos didn't have. hope you add the dock. but by then I will have already bought the set.
Excellent review! I am going to E bay now to buy one to use in a research project. I need to scan very old books in the History section of our library. Also loved the Classical guitar music being played! I am a classical player. Beautiful.

how easy is it to scan multiple pages and create one file? I have a fujitsu s1300i and it sets a high bar for efficiency, speed and ease of use. But it is a scanner with autofeeder so I can't scan books or anything wider than 8 1/2".
Good demo. The music competes w the demo. Turn the music down. +Turn up voice.
Are the rollers for traction? or to tell the scanner its position?
I just go the 470 model with docking station...I didn't realize I needed a micro sd card before I turned it on and set the date. I got a card and inserted but it keeps saying it is full when I know it has nothing on it. How do I get past this issue?

my pds-st470-vp it keeps saying it's "Full" in the right lower corner and I have a brand new SD card with no scanned pictures in it? I haven't used it in almost a year,but never had problems.

We purchased this product and sent it back twice since the memory card would not stay firm in the scanner... has this happened to anyone before... is there a particular way to do this OR did i simply get both defective scanners

+Milton Javier Quizhpi Scans don't have that kind of properties. But you can easily do an OCR online and get both the highlight and the word finder aspect of any common pdf.
I am the proud owner of the scanner and docking station. Very much to my regret the MICRO MEMORY CARD went into the scanner and can not be retrieved. Your suggestion please. Thank you
what is the largest size it can scan? A4 only?
Any idea what the different resolutions are DPI for each setting Lo Med and Hi?

Hello. I was just wondering if I can still transfer images from the usb port to my computer without downloading the software? I don't have a port for disks on my laptop.
When you connect the scanner to the computer using a usb cable, the computer will recognize the scanner as a removable disk. You can copy the files to the computer. Hope this helps.

You do not need music in background.
does this work on books?
Hi ffallenaangel, yes, you can scan books with the Magic Wand.
You either need to speak louder or turn off the background music. Thanks for the video
