In this video I talk about my breast cancer diagnosis, treatment while pregnant, chemotherapy, radiation, endocrine therapy, and where I am at now. For anyone that is going through this, I truly hope this video can help you feel a little less alone 💖.
    *EDIT: There was an error in the text of this video. chemotherapy started at 15 wks pregnant - not 12.*

    Thanks for sharing your story! I’m 30 years old and just finished chemo yesterday, I’m 35 weeks pregnant. I have stage 3c, IDC HR+ HER2-, inflammatory breast cancer. I found mine at 20 weeks and feel like a unicorn, nice to not feel so alone. ❤

      @@laurenmcranmer feeling so much better! Glad to be emerging out of the chemo fog. I was induced at 37 weeks and all went well!! We’ve got a healthy (but tiny) chemo baby. 😊 Surgery is in a week and a half, followed by 5 weeks radiation. I still have a lot of the mountain left to climb but glad to have a few big steps behind me. Hoping for the best.

    Thanks for sharing! I am also 32 years old. I got the call that I have melanoma when I was 8 weeks pregnant. 3 days ago at 17 weeks pregnant I had a wide local excision and sentinel lymph node biopsy (removing 3 lymph nodes) while I was awake with local anesthesia and a nerve block. Those 2 hours under the knife and awake were not fun, to say the least, but I hope they got it all. Still waiting on the results. Although we have different cancers, I just want to thank you for sharing your story. It means a lot!

    Hi Lauren. I was diagnosed with IDC earlier this year. Bilateral mastectomy scheduled for April 10. Can I ask what the final pathological staging was for you? Thanks for the info. 💝

      Hi Renee, I'm so sorry to hear this. I hope you're able to keep busy until the 10th. I know it can feel like a lifetime away. My final staging was 3a. 💗

    Thanks Lauren, what was your onc's rationale for putting you on AI instead of Tamoxifen pls?

    • @laurenmcranmer
      @laurenmcranmer  6 месяцев назад +1

      There are better outcomes. Additionally Tamoxifen has some not great side effects... I mean they all do but, I'm specifically referring to cancer. Since I wasn't in menopause yet, I needed to be put on an ovarian suppressant (Zoladex) first, then start the AI.
