I really liked the 'look' of shock on Godzilla's face when he suddenly realized that Kong saved his life. And I would have to say that Godzilla must have heavily despised himself of using his atomic-breath to power Kong's axe in order to destroy Mechagodzilla since I believe that the fin which makes the blade must have been from another of Godzilla's species or perhaps a family member as the axe must have been made out of hatred many years ago.
What you said about the dorsal axe just adds so much more layers of complexity to the lore that I wish was official! Seriously that's a fantastic way of looking at it
I love how this movie shows just how badass Godzilla and Kong are, Kong never stopped fighting, dude never quits, and Godzilla, after getting his shit rocked by Mecha, also gets back up, and at the end, both of them were ready to fight again if they had to but realized there was no point, and both showed their intelligence there
I'm a much bigger Godzilla fan than Kong, but this was great. They both got their deserved "shining moment". As a Kaiju lover in general, my heart says "Hell yeah, let's go baby!"
The look in Kong's eyes when Big G uses atomic breath to charge his axe is actually really beautiful. Kong has a look that's a mixture of surprise and tragic happiness. He's been fighting alone for decades. The last of his kind with nobody else even remotely like him. The moment he realizes that he and Godzilla are actually fighting TOGETHER it almost breaks his heart. For big, over-the-top popcorn action flicks the Monsterverse has a lot of heart.
i love how the 90% of the concentration of Mecha its in Godzilla, punching him, shooting him with missiles and burning him with the protone scream. and kong its just getting throw a lot
I think it’s notable that Mecha kept fighting until the very end, (you can see him charging proton scream before the final axe hit) and this wasn’t him at full power.

The way Kong holds the head up is so primal and brutal! God still one of my favorite parts of that film! After watching our guy Godzilla get man handled by Mecha it was such a massive comeback! My whole theater was like screaming it was so epic!
I love Godzilla more but Kong is also an awesome monster and I’m glad even though my team won, great to see Kong take down MechaGodzilla. He deserves a win too.
Kong don't won the fight against Godzilla, But he proved to be a Beast in this fight, that He earned Godzilla's respect in this fight. They both worked as a team
godzilla and kong are much like superman and batman. godzilla with all the powers and kong with nothing but strength and speed. they are definitely made for each other and the best characters in the monster-verse.
