I think the Yoshis survived because they were very smart and they hid in a cave to avoid being hit by the metors and remained warm and they learned how to adapt to the cold and heat and found another way to eat food by eating plants and leafs and eventually left the cave millions of years later after the end of the ice age.
I think Luigi has been taking too many Shrooms recently. The moral is to not use drugs or else you'll go crazy about why your talking dinosaur friend isn't dead yet, or have "Inception"-style dreams about zombies, murderous turkeys, and tap-dancing monsters.

Question of the Day: the Yoshi species never went extinct because they are munch more intelligent than other dinosaurs so they concocted a plan to survive by hiding somewhere and lived off nothing, that's how resilient Yoshi's are. So that's how they survived the mass extinction,

I think because when the asteroid hit earth,the Yoshi tribe ran away(because they run when they get attacked)They ran and ran to an island to safe themselves.They named it yoshi's island after their tribe name.
Nathan Hon But, in theory, the astroid impact changed the entire world, so even if they ran, they would have been harmed.

This video is pretty okay but it also seems kinda random, all it is is just an argument over dinosaurs! I also laughed at 2:41 by the way! XD
+SuperMarioGrumpyBusters ™ This video is basically just a sketch. Some of my shorts are like that. They focus on one concept, and poke fun at it for a few minutes. "Toadsworth's Funeral" is a good example of another sketch I've done. Then I have longer shorts that actually have multiple scenes, where there's a larger story arc. While there is a difference in these style of videos, I still like to consider them both "Stache Shorts". To be honest, these sketch-type videos are easier to make. Since I'm at college for the majority of the year, sometimes I do a sketch instead of a full fledged short just to be able to upload something and give my viewers something new to watch. This doesn't mean I won't continue to make long shorts, but I'm currently trying to get over a large statistics drop for my channel, so I'm trying to post as much as possible. Also, even though this is more of a sketch, I still put a ton of work into it. Its not like I was lazy with this (I'm not saying you think that). I'm glad you liked 2:41! I wanted to try something new. I legit thought of that during the film shoot. I originally had no intentions to do that! Haha

Later, the meteor's father was angry because he told his son to kill ALL the dinosaurs, but the son gave his father a corny protest speech and ate him, making the meteor bigger, that bigger meteor smashed into all the dinosaurs except Yoshi

Easy, when the meteor hit the Earth, it created a pocket dimension at the site of impact, allowing many of the dinosaurs to survive. This pocket dimension is simply known as: Dinosaur Island (Or Dinosaur Land for those of you who've only played the SNES version).

I haven't seen it in years though, so I might think otherwise on a re-watch, especially since film school has made me really critical when it comes to watching movies.

At the part where Luigi says "fecal matter" with real human lips it,reminded me of the Spongebob episode where they were trying to make a Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy movie with the *real* Memaid Man and Barnacle Boy and not their "actors" as Spongebob said with real human lips.

Yoshis clearly have an established civilization that has been built for many years. They have a developed language, have great moral values and clearly are intelligent with keeping records of their history. A huge example comes from Yoshi's island specifically. They accept every color of Yoshi and they all live together in a happy family which is mostly utopian, merely impossible for humans. If we bring in Yoshi's story they clearly are a tortured race, but they are filled with determination that are willing to fight and go long distances, figuratively and literally. They also mass produce incredibly easily thus they are plentiful and extremely hard to get rid of. That is why they are able to live for this long as a race of dinosaurs.

Well the Mushroom Kingdom is in a place separate from our Earth and dinosaurs haven't gone extinct there. Or at least on a nearby continent called dinosaur land which includes Yoshi's Island Donut Plains etc.

StacheBros Well I don't think anything has ever been said in the games but that's how I figure it. Mr. Pipe(the pipe Mario and Luigi came from) must've lead to Brooklyn Newyork on our Earth or something.

+StacheBros Yeah, I don't think it was the asteroid itself, since if that's how the dinosaurs died, it would only be some of them. It's the after-affects of it.

DryIceBros The fire balls you are referring to were taken from stockpile green screen videos. I likely looked up "Fireball on green screen", then downloaded the file. From there, I just keyed out the background. So no, it didn't come with my software.

To answer the video's question, Yoshi's never a dinosaur. Yoshi is the part of the Yoshi community. Younger species than the ill-fated dinosaurs. On the contrary, Yoshi is a Yoshi.

I think it's because the Mushroom Kingdom was found by Mario and Luigi after going through a pipe in the sewers of Brooklyn, and Dinosaur Island (in my theory) is not too close to the Mushroom Kingdom, so the Yoshies stayed safe for the whole time.

Leonel Lopez That's really interesting actually. It doesn't always happen, but its present in Galaxy 2, and is almost implied in Sunshine (Since they appear in the same spawning spot). It could indeed be possible!

+NintendoNoah™ I filmed and edited this yesterday. I was only able to do this, because I wrote the script a while back, and recorded all the audio a while back. Yesterday was the start of my Fall Break, so I got up early and filmed. Filming took no time at all since I had already recorded the audio. Editing was also simple, because I only had to worry about color correction, music, and that one special effect featured in the video (maybe you remember it). Plus this video was short which is why I could get it done. This is all I worked on yesterday. I worked for about ten hours straight to start and finish it. I say that the yoshi's aren't extinct is because every thing in Mario's games don't be fond with the laws of physics i mean here r some examples Luigi can float by himself, Yoshi can get higher with his feet, and Mario jumps higher than a REAL LIFE FAT MAN i mean a fat man can jump about 2-5 inches and Mario jumps as high as about 13 inches. He's floating and rising at the same time. So think about it and see if I'm right or wrong and the facts from thegamingterist

To answer your QOD,i think that the yoshi's didn't go extinct as much as they sort of evolved to be more naturally fit to survive. (On a diet of fruit & shy guys)

+StacheBros it would have to have been a sort of common ancestor between yoshis & regal koopas (the kind bowser is). The yoshi would have evolved from the velocorapter, but when meat matter became scarce (after Yoshi's island broke off from what is now the mushroom kingdom) they had to adapt ways to also eat plant matter and the occasional primitive ancestor of shy guys. The regal koopa would come from velocorapters mating with triceratops, those desendents would through the millineums would aquire first shells & then spinys (the non spiny ones would go on to be koopa troopas) some of the spiny ones would simply become spiny koopas (like the kind lakatu likes to throw at mario)

Why isn't Yoshi's species extinct? It's simply because their island was protected by a force field. The other dinosaurs weren't so lucky.
