      3:30..the LED Strip is a good option, but be careful with some of the hacks out there...the long strip will peel off and it becomes useless...plus the strap will stretch and loose its elasticity.
      11:23..I've been looking into getting a portable battery ....these are great for hiking trips.
      18:29..I am looking into getting some kind of Sweat Resistant underwear. similar to what ThruHikers use .

    I don’t do saxx but I got into more expensive underwear with under armour. Nowadays, I do merino wool, alpaca, and (real) linen. They feel amazing but they’re anti microbial (help with smell) and they regulate temperature better than man made material or cotton.
    It’s worth it to invest in daily comfort. It’s better to cheap out on occasional use items.

    Saxx shorts are fantastic! I have several pair. If you do a lot of movement as in hiking distance or running, you can get friction. These alleviate that problem.

    Saxx all day everyday. I've tried different brands that have a similar design, but always come back to Saxx.
    So yes, they keep big Jim and the twins from sticking to your thighs, but that's one part. They're supportive so if you do a lot of walking or running, they keep you in place. There are different, we'll call them models, so you can get different fabric, mesh, modal, cotton, etc, that have different breathability and drying capabilities. Mesh ones and modal ones are great for the summer sweaty times. They seem to last longer than most other brands I try, and I don't just mean holes, I mean keeping their support function without stretching too much.
    I always have 14 pair and every year I'm swapping out about half, so about 140 bucks a year for underwear isn't too bad.
    As a very close second, I have a few pair of Manmade underwear and they are great too. But roughly same price. The main reason I stick with Saxx is the various designs. Manmade is limited by solid colour. Might seem silly, but it's easier to track how often you're wearing pair when there's a difference in them so you're getting equal wears out of them.
    My new rule as of a few years ago is to buy quality over price. Yes, I can get a 4 pack for 20 bucks, but they'll stretch and rip within 6 months, and offer nowhere the same support for comfort. I've started to buy merino wool shirts and tossing out my older cotton or polyblend shirts. I can have half as many shirts and get three times the amount of wears before needing to wash them.
    Anyway, long comment just to say "SAXX for the win"

    How do TSA travel locks work? Do you have to have them unlocked if you're checking them in? Cause what if they have to open your bag but it's locked?

    • @slickslabmcknabful
      @slickslabmcknabful 3 месяца назад +2

      TSA "approved" locks have either a combo or key to unlock normally. These locks also have another keyhole for a master key that the TSA has. I think there's a handful of key cuts out there but the agents have them all. This lets them get into the luggage non-destructively without your key/combo. You can see it on the luggage to the left of the zippers from the top view.
