Let me guess, the second girl was so fast. Oh my God I'd look fast too. Running next to a bunch of toddlers.. She's definitely not slow. But definitely not any faster than anyone else. On the team it just looked that way because she was passing the slowing runners.

The 2nd runner in a 4x100 relay should always be the strongest leg. With exchange zone optimization (exchange early in the zone from 1 to 2 and late from 2 to 3) it creates nearly a 120 meter leg.

Gabby Thomas and Sha Carri Richardson got the victory in this one. TT Terry was great but only really passed one person. The rest of the people you see were runners from the first group after they handed off.

I'm going to strongly disagree. I don't think you watched the relay. The 1st held it together as much as she could. The 2nd gained. The 3rd KILLED it. The 4th locked it down...given the lead, but obviously having to burn to stay ahead of Jackson. But that 3rd leg is the MVP leg.

It's all about strategy and how they knew where to place people, who is running first and in the end, That winning part across the finish line was absolutely magical!! They all did such a great job!! Way to go USA!!! ❤🎉

It's wild because the second girl made up for the first and sha'carri made up for the 3rd. One hell of a team effort. I'm embarrassed for some of the other countries. Some of those girls were slugs. At least the US had a pretty solid team all around.

The second American runner burnt the tracks with her sprinting. She was one of the major reasons why the American 4×100m female team won.
Yes. That was her job but you have to give it to Sha’Carri because nobody on that team could have kept that lead in the anchor. In fact, last year the 2nd girl was the anchor and had a definitive lead. Shericka ran her down and almost beat her. Only Sha’Carri could have brought that race home for us.
The best part was at the end when the gal was wrapped in the flag and hugged here team mate. The name on the front means more than the one on the back! These four ladies worked together and earned the Gold for themselves and their country. Thank you!

She set them up for the win. The funny thing is the 3rd girl, Thomas, she is the only one on that team with an actual "runner's body".
