People don't know this, but you can unlock the 200mph limiter with the S3XY buttons. You can also unlock drift mode and track mode in non-performance versions, and unlock Acceleration boost in long range versions. You won't retain your powertran warranty if you push your car past these safety limits though. but other warranty items would still be covered.

Tesla is known for being really sketchy with its numbers. For example, they say stuff like “it’s only 200 much per month! With this amount of money down!” Then tell you in small print later on that said 200 a month isn’t actually 200 a month. It’s 350 a month and they just factored in how much gas per month costs as though the electricity is free.
You can buy a gasoline car able to modify it all yourself with less money more labour and it’ll last 10x longer and it’s funner than paying a package jus to take of a limiter
The car says it comes with 200mph but you gotta buy the dlc to do it (though it says it can without it) and people are complaining about the star wars game
Everyone who says this pretends that rollout isn't subtracted from every performance cars spec sheet. Every GT branded car from Ford, Every top spec corvette, every Porsche "Turbo" "GT" and/or "S", and basically everything BMW makes above 45k. It's also 6-60. 10mph in 6 inches would require a track and tires made of Velcro and may cause a concussion.

But yeah, the 6-60 was from a video on DragTimes where he was trying to figure out how fast he could accelerate in that roll out. Traction is the limiting factor. On VHT with hot MTs he couldn't do any better than that.
Coming from someone who doesn't like Tesla but does understand cars, $20,000 for carbon ceramic brakes isn't that different from a lot of other performance cars that offer them. They are just extremely expensive to produce so they are extremely expensive to purchase.
Same set of Brembo's on the Porsche 911 Turbo S with the exception being the Tesla has a matched set but the 911 has a bias set. The Model S's are the larger disks on all 4. Makes sense because it's a heavier car.

That tuning thing is probably more than JUST the limiter, might be some actual tuning to optimize the performance. Then again, im unsure about electric cars because im unfamiliar with them. But with gas cars each case is usually different and requires actual testing to find the best tune.
I've been messing with my Tesla, for a while it wouldn't drive due to my hacking, but now it's running again, and I've gotten it's limiters off too. I can even run auto pilot non stop lol.
I'll just start selling bikes and marketing them as being able to go 100 miles an hour with an "upgrade". And then just switch the entire bicycle with a normal car. Since they can do it, why can't I market my 100 miles an hour bike?

Most of the stuff on the Tesla page has tiny text stating the real specs. They lie a lot even more than bmw especially when it comes to top speed and 0-60
I think what's worse is originally, if I remember right, Elon said that the upgrade would be free, maybe even said it would be a software update - but he definitely didn't mention the price of it, that's for sure.
I mean even if they remove the limiters on that car with an upgrade for free the hardware isn't there. Like he said if you hit 200mph on the base model breaks you might not be stopping.

No... Rollout is 6 inches. not 10 feet. Also, just a heads up the best 0-60 in a Model S plaid is now 1.87 seconds with rollout, 1.99 without rollout, and that same car has a 8.65 1/4 mile. The only mods are these breaks, and pulling a lot of weight out of the interior.
