I teared up at the end man... Mushishi is by far the most important anime - hecc, ptobably the most important show - of all to me, I watched so many episodes over and over to calm me down in hard times, to help me sleep, or to give me chills and distraction. The way you depict that feeling mushishi gives us, that "harmony" hit me like a brick, because it fits so well with what I struggle to describe that anime! It IS that harmony that leaves such satisfaction everytime you watch it! And at the same time, it feels so wondrous and good that you can easily watch episodes again and again! To "Find new harmonies in the composition", if I do say so myself! Damn I'm glad my Mushishi-loving ass stumbled upon this video, I really loved it!
I love comments like these. It's heartwarming that I made a video 3 years ago and people still randomly watch them and enjoy them. I personally cringe a bit over the video. My speech was robotic and my accent thick! I also don't think I got the point across as well as I could! But I'm grateful for your comment - thank you!
Tried so many times to get friends into the show but it's not what people expect when you recommend an anime. Really hard to sell but yeah it's my favourite anime too (if it still is, 3 years later btw)
Not only do I love the self contained stories within Mushishi that are usually no more than one episode, and the picturesque style and how they make the Mushi feel alive but also the soundtrack? I mean.. it’s just so good Some tracks are honestly mesmerizing They really hit that otherworldly feel well with certain tracks
It's such a beautiful show just such amazing eps with beautiful writing and beautiful visuals just an indescribable feeling for how soothing and beautiful it is and ginko is a great character to, its a perfect show
Im still wondering, how did Ginko managed to dressed like a modern age man ( a white polo shirt, pants, jacket and shoes) while some of the characters in the story are wearing old, traditional clothing? Is he from the future ?
I think this is one of those elements in the show one should not think about for too long. We just have to roll with it and admire its beauty. Because the animation is really beautiful. Especially the way they animate water in season 2, but not only.
The author had originally intended to set the story in present time and had the other characters in the first episode wear kimono because they lived in seclusion, but then she decided to set it all in the past and left Ginko with his clothes to emphasise just how different he is from others... or so I've heard
Can we just take a second to point out that Mushishi has a different song for every outro? Love this soundtrack, love this show. Nice video Hyper.
Every ending is a track from the soundtrack just playing itself out. It's a really cool view of high lightening exactly how great the ost is.

I like how he didn't sum up his feelings about the show into a score of ?/10 unlike so many others
That's because this is a think piece/ video essay, not a review.
Haha, yup
I love Mushishi.
Beautiful video, I really like It and I'm always looking for creators like you.
That outro gave me chills

couldn't agree more
I'm glad to hear that, hope you enjoyed the video!
Mushi-Shi content!
Fantastic video, and I really agree with the ideas of harmony through knowing when to show restraint. Mushi-Shi was a wonderful experience for me
I'm glad you enjoyed it, and YES, RUclips needs more Mushishi content!
Good show
*of course it was made on purpose, or it simply wouldn't have existed, gj MR. Director and animators, bless them :)*
This was very nice
