    Andrew, I live in Michigan and I have a wild game cooking contest in April, what would you suggest that would stand out as the winning dish? Your an inspiration and I admire your advise.
    Thanks so much for all you do! Lawrence

    Why does everyone denote hot as spicy, when it's just heat and not necessarily flavor?

  • @athenawilson4019

    1. When you started cooking the corn pones, you said "corn flour" not "corn meal".
    2. I made corn pone for many years with corn meal, but corn meal really doesn't absorb water much. I started using parboiled corn meal (partially gelatinized) sold in the Mexican section of a grocery under the brand name of "Pan". It absorbs water as fast as you can stir it in. It then cooks *much* faster.
    Signed, a Texas Girl
    P.S. We called it "corn pone", like "water", not "corn pones".
    P.P.S. Texas chili doesn't have beans! Or tomatoes. Texas chili is meat, water, and seasonings only. With anything you want added when it's finished...onions, cheese, hot sauce, whatever.

    I wish u could partner with Oprah to create meals , delivered or purchased. You seem to cook random things without explaining how you chose the dish ? Seasonal , calories , had something left oevr .... kids asked for it is popular ? Will you make a corned beef this year ?

    Please don't make any reference to Texas when describing your chili. It is far removed what we consider chili. Texas chili is made with beef, not pork. It does not contain beans of any kind, nor tomatoes, nor beer. It is a simple dish comprised of beef, chile powder (New Mexico being the best) or pureed dried and reconstituted chiles anchos or pasilla, or guajillo, onions, garlic, oregano and comino. That's it my friend, you should try it this way, intense beef flavor with great chile taste.

      Not true. I'm from Texas and we make chili from venison. A lot of people use hot rotel for the cheap fast version which contains tomatoes and peppers. Not everyone uses beef if you have access to wild animal of sorts. I enjoy watching different recipes whether I try them or not.

    • @es2056
      @es2056 3 года назад +1

      @@stratchic Okay, I used to make venison chili all the time when I used to hunt. And Rotel is fine since it was invented in Texas.

      Lol, imagine thinking you can speak for the entire State of Texas... Get over yourself. Chili is done so many different ways in Texas.
