Cars being sold on a per applicant basis arent meant to go to the most fervent customers, they go to the most well known buyers like royals, actors, jay leno, etc who are going to show them off. Its for publicity and marketing, to one up the competition. Nobody is gonna give a shit if some no name billionaire from tennessee of all places, whos probably not gonna drive it, gets one.

It's just marketing, if they flipped them at auction most of them would never see the light of day. That and due to supply and demand they are now worth much more than the asking price and appreciating every day. I mean it's just business, have any better ideas?
It is the brave new world of demand based production. Many segments try for it. Artificial scarcity with a direct purchase only program to make sure the get all the gravy up front. In some respects its not different than what the boutique super-car companies do. The flips killed it by showing manufactures what the true early market price could have been. So, expect that cancer to spread to just about anything with high appeal.
Ford would be making a huge mistake not allowing you to buy a Ford GT. You have such an influence in the car community, so many people know who you are, and so many people watch vinwiki. I know you would put the car to Great use as well

Just saw an 06 for sale listed today. 100% original with 5500 miles! Not a joke! Was bought new and shipped up here to Canada where it then sat in a temperature controlled garage amongst the other "investments"! True story! Near Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.
It's funny now that you said it . I have owned the FX2 F150 with the ecoboost twin, and I own an 08 GT500 now so I guess I have had close to both engines for the GT . Though the Truck was over 6000lbs so you wouldn't know, but it was pretty quick for a big girl .

That dude had the trinity of a car collection to me. A lot of people would think why own two of the same Mustangs as they are the same platform but are both such wildly different experiences being high revving N/A with a much more tuned suspension/chassis setup vs one of the best sounding V8's on the planet, and then he owns the other most badass sounding V8 in the Z06. Like jeez how could you sell that setup. Not to mention the GT with just combines everything good about all of those cars into one.
Little editing tip for when you're on a shot such as the close one at 5:00. You've got the two thirds rule right, ed takes up around two thirds of the shot. But he's on the left side, looking left out of frame. it generally more comfortable to see someone looking in to the empty space rather than away from it. As these interviewees tend to be looking left, this means you should try to frame them in the right two thirds and thereby look into/across the space to the left. Source: my degree. Hope its helpful, don't mean to be criticize or be a pain.
As the video is ending, Ed start telling Ford what they want to hear 😂 1. It will be a nice driving car (stating how he likes Ford cars) 2. It's a long term collectible (how he won't sell it) 3. I can put a lot of miles on it (that he will actually drive it)

Just saw an 06 for sale listed today. 100% original with 5500 miles! Not a joke! Was bought new and shipped up here to Canada where it then sat in a temperature controlled garage amongst the other "investments"! True story! Near Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.

It's funny now that you said it . I have owned the FX2 F150 with the ecoboost twin, and I own an 08 GT500 now so I guess I have had close to both engines for the GT . Though the Truck was over 6000lbs so you wouldn't know, but it was pretty quick for a big girl .

That dude had the trinity of a car collection to me. A lot of people would think why own two of the same Mustangs as they are the same platform but are both such wildly different experiences being high revving N/A with a much more tuned suspension/chassis setup vs one of the best sounding V8's on the planet, and then he owns the other most badass sounding V8 in the Z06. Like jeez how could you sell that setup. Not to mention the GT with just combines everything good about all of those cars into one.

Little editing tip for when you're on a shot such as the close one at 5:00. You've got the two thirds rule right, ed takes up around two thirds of the shot. But he's on the left side, looking left out of frame. it generally more comfortable to see someone looking in to the empty space rather than away from it. As these interviewees tend to be looking left, this means you should try to frame them in the right two thirds and thereby look into/across the space to the left. Source: my degree. Hope its helpful, don't mean to be criticize or be a pain.

I love ford and what they make, but I was absolutely disgusted at the way they went about deciding who was allowed to buy a new Ford GT.
Last I checked this was America, and you should be allowed to buy what you want, irregardless of how you got your money, how many followers you have, or what you Twitter handle is.
Does Ford have the right to reject applications? Of course, but regardless, picking and choosing who gets one based on publicity is not good business

I'm sorry but you shouldn't have to "apply" for the opportunity to purchase a car. I get what the car is and the limited quantity, but the fact Ford thinks they can judge someone and "allow" them to buy the equivalent of a half million dollar car is absurd. I'd go buy the 1000hp Ferrari instead that would destroy the Ford gt and send them a pic of me in the car with an autographed copy of my xeroxed ass telling them to pucker up...lol
