    Thank you for the video! Are these still good bookshelf speakers in 2024? I need to buy ones for my studio apartment, and they will be used for now only with a BT input. Is this still a good option, or should I look for something different? Thank you!

      Hey! Glad you like it!
      yes, I'm still rocking the Kanto YU4's, they're pretty good for the price, though, I'd suggest getting a small DAC and connect it from there, then crank the Kanto's volume all the way up and just use the master volume on the DAC for the cleanest sound. Not saying Kanto's DAC/Amp isn't clean, it's pretty good, but I'm OCD with a tiny bit of hiss. lol

    Dumb question, but if I only want to connect via Bluetooth, do I need the auxiliary cable to port it to my PC?

    • @lcadigitalmedia
      @lcadigitalmedia  2 года назад

      No, you dont need to connect the AUX Cable as that is analog and BT is digital signal :)
      The problem with BT connection is that, it’s limited to a certain bandwith, so if you have lossless or even Hi-Def Lossless audio, you won’t get the max quality, but that is a miniscule thing to worry. BT is still better than analog

    Just ordered mine, can I ask if I plug this into PC via optical will I ever need the remote? Apart from editing EQ or whatever...I’ve bought these as an upgrade to my PC sound where I’ve always had Logitech systems, I’d hate to have to turn them on every time I come to use my pc :/

    • @lcadigitalmedia
      @lcadigitalmedia  3 года назад

      Hey, thanks for watching the video.
      That's a good question;
      for the most part, to get the quality of this speaker(s), I would recommend using the optical port to minimize/eliminate the hissing sound that comes with the 3.5mm audio jack. For the most part, you wouldn't need the software EQ as this speakers are full range. It does come as flat by default though, so you will need the remote to tweak the treble and bass for your liking. I would recommend turning off all software EQ or at least set it to flat and use the kanto remote to tweak the treble and bass level to your liking.
      Logitech speakers doesn't compare to these speakers IMHO. I would only recommend buying Logitech for mouse and keyboards, not speakers.

      @@lcadigitalmedia hey thanks for the detailed response. Yeah I’ve never had anything else other than Logitech, so this will certainly be an upgrade! However I was just a little worried as I come and go from my workstation a lot so was hoping I didn’t have to dig round for the remote every time I take a break, that would be so annoying. It says they have ‘signal detection’ but hopefully that isn’t more of a problem than it fixes?

    • @lcadigitalmedia
      @lcadigitalmedia  3 года назад +1

      @@Oldyellowbrick Oh no, you don't need to be using the remote all the time. the knob works as power, input source and volume. the only time you need the remote is for treble/bass adjustments, fading, and/or volume at a distance.

    Not sure if this is video result but the bass sounds kinda flat?

    • @lcadigitalmedia
      @lcadigitalmedia  3 года назад +1

      Hey, by default, the Kanto Speakers are set to flat as with all other Studio Monitors by design as when you are recording you need to be able to hear all audio frequencies to know if there are any unwanted sound/noise from your production.
      You can increase the bass & treble frequency to your liking.

    • @petrholusa5855
      @petrholusa5855 3 года назад +1

    • @lcadigitalmedia
      @lcadigitalmedia  3 года назад

      @@petrholusa5855 yes I agree with that theory which is why most studio speakers are flat and not more bassy or more trebley, as there are songs that is more focused on treble than bass like Thrash Metal Music and Hip-hop is more on the bass and minimal treble.

      @@lcadigitalmedia Interesting. So before buying, do you still believe they are great? I am thinking about YU4 or even YU6 to get more...deep sound? Imagine i was Creative 2.1 user for a while so I am very scared that I am going to miss the subwoofer and Kanto subwoofer is kinda out of my budget. But somehow I feel relieved that my father has active monitors pretty loud M-Audio BX5 with same or close bass speaker size 5" like Kanto YU6, just M-audii is cheaper price that like $130. :D

      @@petrholusa5855 you can increase the Bass level on the Kanto Speakers. I'm thinking of getting this too, how would you compare this with the Edifier 1280 or s880? Thank you!

    • @lcadigitalmedia
      @lcadigitalmedia  3 года назад +2

      Hey, I don't own an edifier speaker but a friend of mine has one. I think the 1280 is more on the bass-ey end like the AudioEngine while the Kanto Speakers are more a flat sound by default. So it will depend on the music genre that you will mostly be listening to, if you're into all bass without really putting importance on the mid and treble, then the edifier would sound better for those music. I prefer a flatter sound then tweak the treble and bass to my liking because I like prefer Metal music first, Trap/hip-hop 2nd. Kanto would be more on the expensive side as you can buy the kanto Sub to get much more bass frequencies but that will cost you another $200 or so.
      Another thing, I prefer the aesthetics of the Kanto Speakers than the edifier.

    • @antonk5414
      @antonk5414 3 года назад +1

      @@lcadigitalmedia Hello! Thank you for the fast response!! Ohh I see, well I mainly listen to pop, ambient electronic and Acoustic music, so I guess midrange and flat sound is important for me since I want to hear all the details... I like the bass as of course I don't like hollow sound but a well balanced one. So I probably won't be buying extra subwoofer or anything like that.
      I have heard music from Edifier a couple of times a while ago and it did sound a little muffled but i thought the music was like that.
      Yeah the aesthetic of the Kanto's are very nice and they're currently on sale in my local store for just 250 usd, so that's why I was wondering what to get as I haven't heard much about them.
      Thank you for the insight!! 🎄⛄

    • @antonk5414
      @antonk5414 3 года назад +1

      Forgot to mention, Edifier is on sale for 100$ but i think Kanto would be a better deal given the sound quality? I read they had 1" tweeter drive while the Edifier has only 19 mm (which is 0.5"?)

    • @lcadigitalmedia
      @lcadigitalmedia  3 года назад +1

      @@antonk5414 yeah, I may be wrong as I have limited experience with the edifier but I prefer having my highs and clarity 😅
      The YU4 actually has a full bass and most of the time, you won’t need a subwoofer unless you really want those 60hz for a home theater, but it’s good to onow you have an option to transfer subs to a dedicated subwoofer for more bass.
      The sound comparison in the video doesn’t really do justice as it has to go through my mic, then video editing, then youtube compression.
      You should try them out personally.
