People who are struggling to get this fish past the rocks....just hold the fish and set up a camp...the fish will be with you in camp and you can take it from there
Two minutes later, and I realized I was using a lake lure not a river lure. The second I switched to the right lure. I caught it and it was so close to my boat that I didn’t even have to fight it. I instantly pulled it up😂

Hours and hours, days and days, nothing but regular muskie. Then it occured to me that you remove the special lure when you equip the bait. Posted the bastard 2 minutes later.
I just did this. Catch the legendary muskie --> put on horse --> catch regular fish --> cook the regular fish --> you're on the plain cooking the regular fish. You're welcome.
The moent you catch any legendary animal , just save the game and continue. When you die or something else happens, you'll load the game and still have that legendary animal/fish.
You just have to be patient bro, time of day doesn’t really matter I watched this vid and the fish bit onto my rod instantly also make sure you’re only you ‘Special’ bait with whatever swamp, river, or lake you’re at
It was honestly the hardest fish to get for me. My hand had cramped up and everything. 2 hours on this bastard. Getting real close, like snapped, regular muskies everything was going to hell.
Literally the easiest legendary fish I've fished (less than 30 seconds) once I got there I almost see it walking on the rocks like hey buddy come for me 😢😂 the best behaved Fish ever.

It took me forever to realize that you have to move L up and down constantly when reeling otherwise it will never get close. It is easy after that.
