@@lifeformmusic3301 Hi, thanks for the kind words! It's been a little bit since I've played with it due to work, but I'm pretty sure if you hold down the FSU button it will display the current mode. I think I coded it to where it only changes the mode if you press and release the button within half a second. Also, not a way to reset everything other than to turn off and on. I'd already crammed as much as I could into the module. However there aren't that many parameters to keep track of.
holy shit it's happening! 🥰 In the past few months I was on the search for a nice sounding Eurorack reverb and thought "if only there was the Plateau algorithm in hardware...." - amazing work! guess I'll have to get a Desmodus Versio now :) how are the chances that there will ever be a faceplate/overlay for this?
@accordioncrowed This is really exciting. I'm sure I'm not the only one that has bought a versio unit just to try this out :). Would you consider a step by step on how to install the firmware? Thanks for all of the efforts so far!
@@accordioncrowedrecords_ Thanks for your reply and the video. I had watched this and the Mac one before asking. Forgive me if I'm missing something obvious, but in the video, it only shows how to change firmware using the NE versios. I'm not sure how to get the campestria code from GitHub into daisy seed and then into the module. Any further help or pointers would be very much appreciated. All the best, Paul
@@Paul.Jame.s Hi Paul, download 1_21_BetterDiffusion_NoPersistence.bin from here: github.com/digitalartifactmusic/PlateauNEVersio/releases/tag/v1.2 and use this site: electro-smith.github.io/Programmer/ to upload it to the seed. Follow the instructions on that site. You'll need a micro usb cable. Really great. My favorite reverb in Euro finally. That reverb is why I mix with the ES-9 in my main case, but now I can have it in my portable. Thank you. Question. Why the rubber gloves? Few other euro RUclipsrs wear them and it confuses me. That to keep modules clean or some allergy?
Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoy it! I wear the gloves because I'm self-conscious about my hands and a lot of other Euro RUclipsr's wear them too, so it's seen as normal. It's also to keep the modules clean because I like to eat at my desk sometimes.
Great work! I would definitely compensate the levels in the clipper/saturation modes, ideally so it's more just a timbral change. I'd also think about making the "saturation only" mode the default / 1st mode (being the least abrasive). For the tone modes, I'm a bit unclear whether both LPF & HPF cuts can be applied simultaneously, or only alternately. My preference is often to roll off a bit of both, perhaps -6dB of bass & -3dB of highs (or thereabouts). And I wonder if the button hold times to switch modes might be a little excessive? I would have thought about half that long would suffice.
Thanks! All filters can be applied simultaneously to dial in the sound just right, in addition to all other settings. I think the soft limiter is the least abrasive honestly, it never clips and preserves all the tone of the signal output from the tank, so that's why I made it the first mode. I had originally had the saturation the first mode, but it quickly got annoying because it adds a slight saturating crush to the signal even with gain at 0. The way the current saturation mode addresses this is that the tone knob functions both as mix control and gain control to make it pleasant on the ears and performative. As of right now I'm not revisiting the code for a while, to avoid frustration among existing users, and also I'm working on other projects, such as face plates for this and the first Accordion Crowed modules. After I make music with it for a while I'll probably change the gain on the modes very slightly and I might find a 5 second hold time is more than sufficient as well, along with whatever else seems like it would be an improvement.
@@accordioncrowedrecords_ Ok, cool. Good to know the tone filters are simultaneous. I must have missed the soft limiter (was a lot to take in). Yes, makes sense that it's first then. Personally I think the harsher clipping modes need a bit more than slight gain compensation - I had headphones on, and was scrambling for the volume control!
@@boydw1 Definitely a lot to take in, but thanks for watching and bearing with me! Not the greatest at making videos yet for sure haha! :) It will get better. In the future I'll most definitely revisit the gain modes. In the mean time mode 6 is the same thing but with way more dynamics control to be quieter. (I skipped that one in the video because my recording messed up.)
this video was super helpful, campestria versio is an awesome title and it sounds great, i'll have to try it out soon. thanks for your hard work!
Thanks so much for commenting and the support! :)
This is such a brilliant work. Thanks for all you've done there.
Is there an easy way to tell in which of the three modes one is? Also, is it possible to reset all? I can see one can get lost.

Thanks! Very likely to have a faceplate at some point. I still need to set aside a couple hours one night and design it.

Great job! I've always liked that reverb.
