Loved the old photos and especially linked with the up-to-date pictures. Thank you for sharing them. As a Wicker I really appreciated and enjoyed them.
Thank you. I'm 50 and I've lived in Southwick all my life. There were a few shots that I remembered from my youth, but it's amazing just how much the social dynamic of the town has changed over the years.
I'm from Southwick I live in New Zealand now have not been to the harbour for nearly 30 years my dad was a lock hand. What on earth have they done to the place.
For all that urban blight on Albion Street you can blame the so called Folkestone to Honiton trunk road which blighted a significant stretch of land on the north bank of the river Adur in Southwick and adjacent towns like Portslade and Shoreham-by-Sea

That was very cleverly put together, kind of somber music playing the background, not sure if I was depressed or elated after watching that!

This is Southwick village by the Harbour, just west of Brighton in Sussex, England. A lovely peaceful village.
Saddened actually by the loss of all those characterful scenes and places .... replaced by the dull and bland.
I'm from Southwick and don't recognise any photos at all!?? xx
Neither do I, apparently it's some other Southwick in Sussex.
@@MrBlueSky474 Ah! that explains it. Was wondering where the 'poets' were.
@@annettenewby4713 'poets'??
This not Southwick Sunderland, it's another Southwick
Don't no where this Southwick is but it sure isn't Sunderland.
MrBlueSky474 it's in the south east in Sussex near Brighton
