Girl, I so feel you about the book thing. After I graduated (after 8 years in college) I entered a years-long reading slump where I did not pick up a single book. At all. I'd try and get halfway through a page and feel the "omg I have a deadline due" anxiety and have to stop. I listened to an audiobook randomly last year and it all changed, and I was devouring books like I used to when I was a kid, but some weird part of me wondered if I was incapable of reading real books now. A few weeks ago I saw a book I was super excited about was available to borrow and I went and checked it out and to my HORROR realized I accidentally got the e-book instead of the audiobook. But!!! I read it!!! Real words and all!!! My next step is a real book.... one of these days. Anyway, it felt like such a huge accomplishment to me when I finished that book, but not big enough to actually tell anyone? Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful to audiobooks for existing but I get you completely... I just need to know if I can read a real book! Someday. lol. Good luck on your reading journey!!
Hell yeah!!! Also I totally get this, I used to read book after book after book, would not leave the house without one (or two, or three- hey, you can never be too careful), but I definitely don't read nearly as much as an adult. Finding the time and serenity to sit down with a physical book and engage our brains that way isn't as easy as it was when we were little, but I am glad you are succeeding in getting back into reading physical books (not that there's anything wrong with audiobooks OR ebooks)!! @@Dariosie I know where you are coming from. Ten years ago, I finally got my dream job, a librarian. Bizarrely, I lost my love and habit of reading for about the first 10 months of the job. When I would get home in the evening the last thing I wanted to look at was a book. Thankfully this passed, took a while though.
When you revealed the duck chair was in your backseat, I said quite loudly out loud, "YESSSSSSSSSSS!!!" My little cousins did the sharpie tie dye trick on white canvas tennis shoes a few years ago, and they turned out very pretty. Artist little cousin went with careful color selection and placement to form an all over shoe pattern. Theatre kid cousin went full chaos mess. Both results were pure win.
I love how some of the bleed gives an out-of-focus effect! Also, when I change my mind, I sometimes yell, "PLOT TWIST!" Another option for ya when brain blast doesn't hit right.
As a fellow 31 year old, I relate so much to your makeup reflections! I’ve noticed when I do my makeup for my own enjoyment, it’s less routine and repetitive and more like “today I can’t be bothered to put on concealer, but I really want to put on sparkly purple eyeliner.” And I don’t hate that!

I call the extra baggy fabric in the front of my baggy pants the “Jeaner” 😂 idk why I’ve adopted this term but it’s funny to ask my husband “is my jeaner showing with these?” And every time he’s like …you’re what lol⁉️… also I feel the same way about makeup sometimes it’s nice sometimes it’s just not worth the time and sometimes want it to be So over the top it’s basically just me drawing on my face with my eyeliner 😂

If you don't have a pair of the mirror glasses, I recommend! They help your posture when crafting but also SO great to be able to read laying down and just have the book resting on you.

I do love the maximalist vibe of the pants, but I think this technique could also be really interesting for a more subtle effect. For example, if you did something like a faux contrast stitch, or made a rainbow sharpie version of a tuxedo stripe down the side, I feel like it would look super cool

I love paper as a texture, a smell, an analog experience, but oh boy, I love that I can prop my iPad up to match most of the ways that I am reclining.
The middle ground for me was to buy a secondhand Kindle, so I can easily bring it with me everywhere and read at night. It’s a little beat up, but it works perfectly for me! I just checkout books on Libby and read them on the Kindle (it also makes it so I don’t get distracted on my phone and spend reading time doom scrolling)

In my youth I used to go all out with makeup. It took me two hours to get ready - start to finish. After about 31, I stopped feeling the need to go “all out”. These days, I rarely wear makeup. I, like you, feel the urge to every now and then. When that happens - I don’t want the process to be fussy. I use an airbrush system that eliminated all the brushes and sponges I used to have hoards of and mainly only use liquid makeup products.

I got a couple pairs of white canvas tennis shoes, like Keds , I did one with clouds and a rainbow over the side, but made it look the dyed , I’ve also seen some done with little strawberries, bees, and butterflies , so cute ! 🥰
With so much now being digital my eyes appreciate reading a (paper) book. In the UK our library also has copies of ebooks and audio books so no need for a paid subscription most of the time 😊 Also did you know when you borrow a book from a library they pay the author a small amount 🤩

With so much now being digital my eyes appreciate reading a (paper) book. In the UK our library also has copies of ebooks and audio books so no need for a paid subscription most of the time 😊
Also did you know when you borrow a book from a library they pay the author a small amount 🤩

i would recommend the Books of Bayern series, since you have read other romance/ fantasy/ medieval type of stuff. the whole series is so good! also, Book of A Thousand Days. so good and funny!!
