When you started justifying things for your happiness, that's when it should all stop. Happiness doesn't need a reason to exist. It just does.
I know from reading some comments that many are into Stevie. I am not one of them. Nothing to do with the actor only the character.
This was an odd scene. He shows up but doesn't get invited in and doesn't find that strange. They are not children. They are mostly men mid to late 30's so it is a bit curious not to react. Saxon is a kind man but he is not being honest with himself or Matt or Stevie. He seems freaked out at Stevie's appearance and Matt perceives correctly.
Saxon knows that he is not responsible for Stevie's staying clean and yet he betrays that knowledge by deceiving Stevie. The authentic way would be to say "Stevie, it is great to see you and glad you are doing well. We are mates but that is all, I have moved on". It is Stevie's choice whether he throws away his sobriety or not. The truth is better than to be led on and then feel betrayed.
I know this because I worked with alcoholics and drug addicts during many years.
I suppose that as someone who learned to set really strong boundaries I don't understand that people let others kiss them when they are not interested just so as not to hurt their feelings.
Here is a quote that should be a mantra for life "the truth hurts less than a lie" ...... If that is unclear it means that usually, sooner or later the truth comes out and then it is much more hurtful because one remembers how one was lied to or deceived.
We as a society are going to make no progress if people keep beating around the bush because they fear confrontation, rejection and fear the truth.
That Micky actually considers a 3 way and dumps this on Jake all to fuck raw is really beyond my comprehension. It is only because they are so young and naive that this merry go round keeps on. A mature person would tell Micky, "go fuck the world and I am done since you are willing to throw away a relationship because of a condom".
I am sad, frustrated and angry that HIV and Aids ever came to existence. I have lost nearly every friend and lover I had and am one of only a couple of survivors of people I knew.
I was in a long relationship beginning 1980. I wanted monogamy and within a few years AIDS became known so we remained monogamous probably more out of fear at first after that out of habit. We broke up after nearly 18 years.
I had never used a condom in my life until 1998. I hate them.
But I accepted the reality not because I feared dying but I hate being sick in any way. I became friends with a great chap who was positive. During a moment of depression I said to him why should I care any longer, I am over 50 so dying is not so bad. He suffered from myriad side effects of his medications and when the meds failed he had to try all new medications and all new side effects. Some were horrendous. He was someone that was rarely serious, always clowning but he looked at me with the most earnest expression I'd ever seen and He said to me "you don't want this, nothing is worth it". So I committed to the crap condoms.
I will never again have sex without a condom and would never pollute my body with some pharma product for such a trivial reason. If I were by some miracle to be in a serious and honest relationship I might consider going without a condom and swallowing which I have missed, but only after a waiting period and repeated testing.
Do I remember all those years 60's and 70's how it was without condoms? NO. If I had known one day we would be forced to wear condoms I would have paid more attention and enjoyed it more. I do remember swallowing litres of cum but because we took it for granted we didn't pay attention to how care free we were.
So for those generations who hate and/or resent us you waste your time and energy. We didn't know what was coming and tens of thousands paid the price for it. You've had a chance at life with all the information. Those that died were all blind sided.
I realised after a period of survival guilt that I owed it to all my friends and lovers who were dead to stay healthy and alive and to enjoy life for those whose lives were cut short in their 20's, 30's, 40's and beyond.
Is it fair? NO! Is it reality? Yes, and we all must deal with it until there is a cure. Which there never will be other than through a private biologist because BIG Pharmaceutical companies never want cures for diseases. They only want people dependent forever on medications. If you don't know that you know nothing.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences. The Horizon characters are flawed and have a lot to learn.

Is AJ smitten by Frankie? I think they would make a cute couple😍 imagine the possibilities....he has sex with Frankie around the same time she has invitro with Jake's DNA, then there would be a "who -is- the -father" storyline, which would be an excellent cliff hanger for the reveal for the season to follow. This will add a curve ball to the dynamics of the relationships involved.....also make Stevie an antagonist , he would match as a deranged psycho path, out for revenge as Saxon moves on with Mattie.

Yes his passing is very sad.
I don't get it, when do they lip sync for their lives?
Of course, the writers had to screw up the one potential couple with real character development and depth #Staxon! Sax is barely recognizable here, and we all saw the connection between these two in season 6. Instead they keep pushing a pairing of two guys who aren't even ready to say the words "I am gay" after years of being (hiding) together, and where one party has been abusive from the beginning, while the other party is going along with just about everything.
