This session provided Accountable and Principal Accountable Persons with information about their duties under the Building Safety Act.
Delegates heard about:
• Dutyholders, risks covered and the interaction with other regulatory regimes
• The duties on all Accountable Persons
• The extra duties on Principal Accountable Persons
o Risk assessment under the Act
o The duty to take all reasonable steps to prevent and mitigate building safety risks
o Arrangements for managing building safety risks - a.k.a. a safety management system
• Key points of other duties
Two later in-occupation sessions developed these themes. They looked in detail at the Building Assessment Certificate (BAC) and how BSR will assess BAC applications.
