The fact that she wrote and recorded this song a few days before her overdose and no one thought anything was wrong is INSANE to me.

@@Cyclonix_official8699 no but she was considered dead long enough to cause all sorts of problems. I forget the specifics but I believe she suffered a few strokes and other issues but she made a full recovery. She has a documentary detailing the entire story and experience
@@desireestoddard4219 She had 3 strokes and a heart attack and while she is close to a full recovery she struggles with blind spots in her vision and is so visually impaired she can no longer legally drive.
and on top of that THIS IS THAT RECORDING. she didn’t want to re-record and lose the emotion. THIS is the cry for help.
@Vortex_official8699 she suffered 3 strokes and a heart attack the night of her overdose when someone found her I think it was her assistant she was blue and had 5 minutes left to live if she wasn't rushed straight into hospital when she was. Her drugs got laced with fentanyl and was taken advantage of she was found naked, blue and barely breathing

@@alifc1082 I didn’t say the song itself was more emotional. What I said was the “performance” is more emotional. Seeing her cry and how much she was hurting is much more emotional than just hearing the studio version or even a live audio is.✌️
Is that the performance that she gave on the anniversary of her overdose? Or did I imagine that?
@@ndisfoshiz I’m not sure how long the performance was after the overdose. I know that she recorded the studio version 4 days before she overdosed.

Her performance at the Grammys of this song will make you cry. It was so raw and emotional and then a few days later she overdosed. It hurts my heart for her bc she was literally screaming for help and nobody was listening
Her overdose was actually 2 years prior to the Grammys. She decided that if she survived, it would be the first song she'd sing

She performed it at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards on January 26, 2020, her first performance since suffering a near-fatal drug overdose in July 2018.
Demi wrote and recorded this song three or four days before she OD in July of 2018, she made zero changes to the song after she recorded it, she said she wanted to keep it the way it was and not change anything. This song was a cry for help but no one knew that at the time. When she asked her old team for help they told her "You're being very selfish right now and if you don't stop you're not only going to hurt us but yourself as well". So they basically told her you're fine there's nothing wrong with you, I'm so beyond happy that she has a new team now and she got rid of the one she had before. Demi is NOT still going through this she's been clean and sober for a couple years now, she's also engaged and planning her wedding, she also has a different team. Demi is currently 31 years old she will be 32 in August this year.

This is a song that came out when I was going through my suicidal thoughts. I played it SO many times, because she was the ONLY one who understood what I feeling. Even still to this day, I cry when I hear it, bc I remember how BROKEN I was. I thank her so much, for being so vulnerable. She related to so many of us.
Fun not so fun fact. She wrote and recorded this song 3 or 4 days before her OD. And her come back was her performing this live. Which is also a great watch.

Please more Demi!! I think you’ll like anything off of her Holy Fvck album. If you want more of her emotional songs, there’s Father, Skyscraper, and Warrior to start. Father is about her rocky relationship with her biological father who was also an addict. Skyscraper is about her dealing with an eating disorder and Warrior is about her overcoming being SA’d.
Metal head gonna love listening to "Eat Me" on their HOLY FVCK album! Demi loved listening to metal like Job for a Cowboy growing up
Demi is a phenomenal singer and she's been through so much, you can really hear it in her voice. The fact that a few days later she overdosed, this song was truly a cry for help. I'm so glad that she is still here with us and sharing her story and her art. I very much hope that you continue with more Demi reactions, because there are SO many good songs!

Demi came very close to being the 00s and late 90s generation version of Winehouse. Her music really is just herself and that alone just makes it beautiful. The lyrics " I feel stupid when I sing" it's cause few months before recording this song she released a song called sober (it's her most vulnerable song ever) and the song wasn't meant to tell the world that she's not okay and needs help, but no one cared about it and they took as a good song and moved on, even when she played the song to her old team they were clapping but no one cared about he she was back there

So glad to see you reacting to this one! I feel like it’s an underrated song compared to Demi’s others but it’s so important and really highlights where their head was around the time of their OD.
Another song that you should react to is their song “Sober” which is also from around this era of their music. It really shows the struggle Demi had feeling like they were letting everyone down with their addiction but hopeless to stop it.
I know you’ve already reacted to Dancing with the Devil but I feel like Sober and Anyone create an almost trilogy-like story together.

I absolutely love Demi's voice! I wish ahe would create another emotional album with a few dance bops sprinkled in. You should've done the Live performance of her in 2020 at the Grammy's. It is so much better than this one. She cried and was so incredibly emotional because it was her come back performance after her overdose scare. I cry every single time I watch that performance.

I love her music and of course know her from Camp rock. But I was shocked by how much she went through and can't believe she abused on the set of the movie and never reported the guy. She's truly brave like others who have been through this. I can't imagine the trauma of any abuse of any kind.
