  • In the face of relentless low-altitude aerial threats, every second counts. MANTIS doesn't just respond - it retaliates, thundering to life in a mere 4.5 seconds. Within one heart-pounding minute, it can unleash a storm of 1,000 rounds, obliterating incoming weapons and drones from the skies.
Recognizing the urgency, the German Bundeswehr has swapped its antiquated gear for Rheinmetall Air Defense's MANTIS-Modular, Automatic, and Network-capable Targeting and Interception System. This state-of-the-art, 35-millimeter auto-defense arsenal offers an unmatched force field, guarding the Bundeswehr's assets in the thick of war.
Its modular prowess and near-instantaneous deployment fortify not just Germany's defenses, but those of its allies too. Amid escalating tensions stemming from the Ukraine conflict, could MANTIS take down the latest threats from Russia?

Agreed. The system looks promising. It's certanly a cheaper way of countering drones and rockets than with missiles. I see this as an integrated system that would contain lasers. It would be a perfect system to replace the somewhat aging Phalanx CIWS on board the US Navy's vessels. The Navy went the other way with RAM missiles but I think they are still too expensive and have way too small magazine depth to tackle saturation attacks by the near peer adversary's navy.

The Oerlikon 35mm guns are around since the late 70s, and yes, this is kind of a standard, pretty much replacing the old 40mm Bofors system. The rounds shown here are specific to the MANTIS, but there are plenty of other 35mm guns in use by at least 30 countries all over the world. The German Gepard for example is using the same basic gun and ammo, that's why it has been so important for Ukraine to get a few dozen of those systems. Slovakia is starting to Align with Russia. You might want to move them to the German/Slovak border. otherwise they will get used against NATO...

It's so clear these videos are made & scripted by AI. They repeat the same info over and over & contradicts itself often.

@DJ1573 it's just a formula for compiling a video. AI has gotten more advanced yes. But dude has several channels, where he does videos on the same exact topic, but shuffles around the segments. I'd also say the quality has gone down.

Then why did it make zero difference and NATO lost the war in Ukraine?
These stupid videos are too little too late to cover up for the tremendous loss in Ukraine
