Well so would it surprise you to know that police budgets WENT UP while you were hearing about all the "liberal cities defunding police" from those..... "information sources" of yours? SURE let's go with housing programs to ensure everyone has a roof over their heads..... gotta say that would really cut down on quite a few people's anxiety right there wouldn't it? So instead of giving handouts to banks and billion dollar businesses we use that money to ensure healthcare, food and shelter to everyone...... and take some of that police funding and help pay for that and emergency mental health care workers to answer mental health 911 calls... but no I am sure your plan of just keep doing the exact same thing we have been doing will EVENTUALLY work....

That doesn't mean nobody had anxiety, depression, or autism. It means they dealt with it on their own without access to treatment or support.

I wish this wasn't the reality because I didn't vote for this. I'm concerned for my almost twelve year old daughter because of this being real. Vote and fight to keep the rights we still have, also vote and fight to get back what we've already lost. Our daughters and sons deserve better than this.

It’s why the government doesn’t subsidize daycare. That’s been a political goal for citizens for decades and they never picked the problem up to fix.
In places where daycare is available, it’s expensive. In rural areas there isn’t enough.
It's the patriarchy at work. God forbid women get to live their lives according to their wants and needs.
Don't blame daycares. The costs are high, because those working there--typically women--need to be paid. The costs are higher, because laws mandate a certain number of caregivers depending on how many kids there are. It's a safety concern.
What we should be more upset about, is how workplaces don't offer paid maternity leave past 6 weeks, and that's only if you've got a career job--not a min. wage job. If employers let women take more time off, daycare wouldn't be so hard to afford.
Lord knows that the high cost of daycare is not because of child care worker wages. The workers are women, after all.
Thank you for this satire. We need to turn out in force to vote blue up and down the line on election day. We won't go back!

It wouldn't even surprise me if the theocrats started passing laws which implied some manner of "thoughtcrime," so to speak. In 1953 my father was born and handed to a stranger. He spent time in foster care and had a rough life.
Through DNA testing I found out who his birth parents were. They weren't married so there was a lot of shame.
These judgements about people's reproductive choices are never only about the choice to become parents or not. It becomes about wed or unwed, the race of the parents, the ability of the man to financially support. The people pushing for lack of choice want certain types of babies, not the poor ones, not the ones with melanin, not the ones with disabilities. They aren't rallying for healthcare, for free school meals, for SSDI.

However, the real culprits are the wealthy at the top and this is where most of the criticism needs to be directed towards.

While unfortunately there are people out there that would like to ban all birth control, the likelyhood of that happining is next to nill. They'd be hard pressed to make an argument against proactive birth control measures (ie the pill). Reactive measures though, such as Plan B which are potentially terminating a living fetus could be possible. Of course, since this is all at the state level, its really only a concern for people living in red states.

Wow, it's almost like the United States is a collection of individual states that can make their own decisions on how they want to do certain things... like with their own state governments and everything. Sort of the way the 10th amendment spells out how things should be left to the individual states, and not making everything into a federal issue. This is what happens when the federal education system doesn't bother to teach civics anymore. As soon as something that should never have been a federal issue in the first place gets bumped back to the purview of each individual state, people who aren't even in those affected states start freaking out.

Oh, they still want us in the workforce- they love the idea of women working all day, coming home and working all night in the house, and handing them our paychecks!
