Yamaha got the right guy to demo the Tour Custom series. Just wow!
I got the 20/10/12/14 kit with the 14x5.5 matching snare in the butterscotch finish about two years ago. Love them just as much now as the day I bought them. Sound amazing, look amazing (especially up close with the wood grains showing through). They really do work with any head combination and any tuning. And the snare is phenomenal!
Possibly the best I've ever heard Kendrick play. Took us on a journey with this one.

Awesome! Such style and conviction. Love the musicality he achieves through a perfect balance of sounds, extended techniques and transparent chops that are functional yet aren’t flashy in the current “instagram drummer” way. Excellent solo, Kendrick!

@@sticktrik absolutely, got nothing to with hating, in Kendrick's drumming I deeply miss the cooking, chops, licks and tricks. I cannot hear any heritage. did he ever listen to jack dejohnette, art blakey, tony williams, budy rich etc.? Listen to new talent Roni Kaspi, playing with Jesus Molina at namm etc,.... oh man, they are bringing the heat.... hell yeah

Coming back to listen to this again for the umpteenth time! It's always great to actually see him perform as opossed to just hearing his fantastic playing on the many excellent albums he has graced.
However, I gotta' say, that ALL of those Zildjians (and his fantastic touch/control with them) are at least as much of the sound here as the drums themselves. I can sort out a few of them but would like to have them all specifically identified here as well for confirmation.
The source, we are the drum, bridges not walls. Greatest jazz albums ever recorded.

Ordered the bop configuration last week with some Coated Ambassadors and Vintage Ambassadors (and the new SM Coated Ambassador toxtry on the BD). Should be here in a couple days. Cant wait. Wnet with the chocolate satin.

Hi, if I'm correct : from left to right : 1) 15-inch Prototype Kerope Hats with 12 Rivets.
2) 22-inch Old K Prototype.
3) 22-inch Bounce Ride with Z Rivets.
And the other is a 22 flat top ride ...
Would love to see sparkle options in this line. Would love to see an intense size option in this line like in the stage custom line.
That will likely happen in some form because now there is an 8" tom. The 18" bass will probably be sold as part of a bop kit from what I can gather from the website. They have not update the size options list as of 1/26.
OMG YYYYEEEEEESSS. Thank you for this news! So sad to see the Absolute Series go away and with it the splendor and glamour of Yamaha all Maple drums in countless finishes and sizes. Nothing like a beech bass drum with maple toms. @@nested_King
Okay update-on the website it clearly states there are now three shell packs, the first two and now a bop pack, with a strong hint that all drums may be available separately. To be continued…
This is excellent news. In the Absolute Series there were countless options (sizes and finishes) in the Maple department. I would be happy if the same size chart repeats, but in the least the same size chart as the Stage Custom. I hope the continuation leads to a shinny sparkle chart; sparkle bursts and fades one day too.@@nested_King
I love the smaller sizes.. fusion, bop, whatever you like to call it.. These drums are open and sing and resonate. Perfect for many settings. Could easily dampen them too for a more muted effect at a smaller venue.
I just love smaller quality size drums made with love. Lugging around a beautiful kit that's capable of handling various environments. Gimme some of that! 💕 So many of these so called bop or fusion kits nowadays can with the right mics and set ups can be very powerful.. but I do hear what you're saying!

What heads does the bop configuration come with?
The Tour Custom Bop Kit comes with Remo UT coated Ambassdor as a batter head, UT P3 smooth white as the front head, Remo UT coated Ambassdor for the toms, and UT clear Ambassdor as reso heads for the toms.
@YamahaDrumsEurope thanks! I was hoping you guys were still using Remo USA heads. I'm still looking to pick one of these up though. They sound amazing. It would be my first Yamaha kit. 😁

Un able to get a Yamaha set since 2021 unless you want the entry level. Too much to list on the subject, not sure what's going on with Yamaha, prolly because it's all made in China now, except for the Phoenix line. Trippy
Not true. They were on pause for quite awhile but everything is back and available again. The Absolute Hybrids are shipping in all colors, RC’s also. It was frustrating though for a while. Glad they are back in production.
@@drumprof1772 Well I gave up last Fall. Ordered a US Company that has been in biz since 1909 and WE ARE GOOD TO GO!
Since they're back up and running send me a link of them showing the drums you described at the NAMM Show that just transpired this last weekend.
If they back up i'm sure they are showing they're said drums like they have been every NAMM since NAMM started, shouldn't be an issue to display two 4 piece drum sets, or even a lol snare drum...
BTW from the West Coast to Nashville to New Hampshire to the East Coast I called and called the biggest retailers and no one could tell me why they stopped producing the Recording Custom and the AHM's?? Peace
