  • Shoutout and a big Thank You! to FARM DADDY for the gift and request for my first reaction to John Denver since I started making thumbnails for the videos!
Don is a life coach, and this is what happens when a life coach and philosopher does reactions to traditional country music. Enjoy!

I liked Denver before but this is the song that made me a super fan. Blessed to have seen John in concert several times.

Listening to this again . Everytime i hear a John Denver song makes me think about different things growing up in the country in MN . Makes me think of walks in the country and the peace and solitude it brings . Smell of my moms cooking in the kitchen . So many things cross my mind.

I loved this from the first time I heard it. There's a video of Marty Robbins saying that right now John Denver is his favorite singer. He loved this song. And then he sang it too.

The first verse sets the scene. A Trucker coming home from being on the road for ten days. That is my story for the past forty years, except sometimes I was gone from home two or three months. Truckers cherish their hometime and families.

Thanks for playing my favorite John Denver song! I used to live on a farm with an hour's commute to work. I would often be coming home just as the sun was rising. I loved to play this song just as I was getting home. I loved that old farm, and this song makes me cry.

I'm weird. As far back as l can remember l always loved to listen to the words of songs. That's why I love Country Music. Give me a story song
& a great voice to go with it & l'm HAPPY! Even songs that were not released as a single for radio. You can find so great songs on an album/CD. That's why l have more albums than 45's. 🥰🤣🤣

John Denver was my first love when it comes to music. I was 12 going on 13 when he died and I absolutely bawled. He was a true musician taken from us way too soon.

Thank you Farm Daddy for this wonderful request, one of my many JD faves. I was at a JD tribute concert a couple of years ago and this song got everybody in the place singing along, and this audience included every demographic imaginable - I was amazed that this song still lives this way today. A credit to Mr Denver for both his writing and his performing. Don thanks for the superb reaction!!

John Denver is my most favorite artist!! If you want to hear this song in concert, try "The Wildlife Concert" which introduced me to that song and John does a little bit more in it and he's so expressive in it! Another one of my favorite songs from that concert is "Shanghai Breezes" and I think you'll appreciate that one! But John can tell you a story and you're never bored!

My favorite artist ever. I believe we saw him twice in NY City and then in his home state, Colorado. The huge Madison Square Garden added a grand scale to his music. It just filled all the space. People were quietly singing along - it was heavenly. Of course the big one was to see him in Colorado, outdoors, at a ski resort. It was part of a Michael Martin Murphy show called "West Fest."
His voice, the songs he wrote, and his band were so good. Thank you Farm Daddy and Don.

Alright, man, now you're in throat lump and wet eyes territory with me and John Denver and specifically with this song. He became a thing during my elementary thru high school years, and I've long said that he and Fogelberg and Lightfoot have had a lot to do with my becoming a poet. And, this song...for 23 years I was a regional travelling salesweasel, and would be out on the road 3-4 day/nights per week. For the last 10 years or so I always played this song, and Take Me Home Country Roads somewhere on that last 25-30 mile stretch before arriving home.

Hey FARM DADDY, great request John , hit and was really big when I was a kid in CA. Back in the late 60's-70's really good smooth voice just like you would expect to hear folk music then TAKE ME HOME COUNTRY ROAD'S, came out and his popularity just exploded he had a great sound, hey Don, I would like to request a song by Buck Owens, called "TOGETHER AGAIN" IF you've already reacted to it, try BILLY "CRASH"CRADDOCK, SONG BROKEN DOWN IN TINY PIECES " don't think you've had that one before. Thanks
