My mom was a stay at home mom, my stepdad's check went into the bank and my Mom paid the bills. She had to juggle the finances. Once, my stepdad said he wanted to buy something and she told him they didn't have the funds and he asked her where did his paycheck go.. she told him the bills. He accused her of spending money she shouldn't have. He asked for the checkbook, said he was going to pay the bills and fix the issue. lol, he didn't make it through one month before he gave the checkbook back to Mom and he even apologized.
My dad also question my mom. She told him. " Don't you see my new hairdo, clothes and nails done!" Her hair up in a messy bun, old worn out clothes and chipped nail. He didn't question her anymore 😊
I had a similar discussion with our son when he was about 12. Told him to look over our budget, anything extra he could have. He only asked that one time.
@@azteca6695 Exactly... I saw my mom wear the same clothes year after year. My stepdad did some side jobs, told her if there was anything left, to go treat herself. I believe this wasn't long after he accused her of mishandling the money. lol, probably some guilt money for doing what he did.
I’ve had a similar. Hubs couldn’t comprehend how fast the money goes. I said stuff is expensive! And didn’t help he ate out everyday for lunch ($500+ a month 😮) still does, but working on it. Has gotten much better, but still work to go! (I’ve even made lunches to take for him-didn’t last but maybe 6 months ugh-I said we gotta meet in the middle and have a max amount daily when do eat out) I told him let’s sit down and go over everything and actually more recently have said, he needs to see the budget with me anyway, not just me. Plus if I passed on, because tomorrow isn’t promised. He doesn’t have much desire. But I keep praying! Work it out Lord. 🙏
You two make the life of a SAHM of 3 young kiddos on baby step 2 SO much more exciting 🎉 Thank you for your honest humor & bringing more laughter and fun on an average Thursday morning!
Yay! I’m Gen Z and I’m 22 and have $8,000 in my Roth. Could be better but I plan on maxing out my Roth in the next few months after I pay off all my student loans.
George, I have loved you since I started watching Ramsey! I'm so glad that I finally looked up this show and your own personal channel because you are hilarious, my friend!!😂😂😂 You are Rachel are gold together ❤
I love that you guys get to hear the audience laughing! When I watch on RUclips I'm always rolling! Also either that drink is strong or George lights up when in front of an audience! He's on fire! Also, way to go Rachel standing up for Gen Z! I'm always telling my "baby" niece the same thing! I promise we're for you! Keep the friends references coming!😂
George, you changed out of your leather hiking boots and into your "dress boots." Go George! in my family I am the SAVER and my husband is the SPENDER!! This was a major topic when we were dating and talking about marriage 27 years ago.... He does follow the budget though...good thing!!
I’m cracking up about the toilet paper part! My husband is just like Rachael - clueless and doesn’t care. But the roll in my mind has to be facing out; and if you had the wherewithal to get a new role, just put it on the little post! (ours isn’t spring loaded either, so it’s super simple to put on, even for a small child.) I think it helps that I buy the really big Costco rolls - they won’t stay on if you don’t put them on properly. They just fall off top. So then they just end up on the counter.
I don't fall into any of those male stereotypes. 1. I remodeled my home using a $300 utility trailer behind a Kia for all my material runs. 2. Paid $5 for a used grill and repainted it. If you need a fancy grill, you don't know how to grill. 3. Hate golf.
My Gen Z kid is well ahead on her retirement. When she learned that the easiest and fastest way to a million dollars was to save like crazy before age 30 she just had me help her open ROTH and IRA accounts on auto pay with her first paycheck at 10 as a office worker doing filing, xerox, stapling and shredding. She is working on a degree in finance but She dreams of being a stay at home mom with 3 kids. ❤
My brothers/Dad act like money burns a hole in their pocket. My mom on the other hand only makes 400 a week and she’s such a good steward about her money but she always calls herself poor. They have a paid for house, it’s just frustrating that they constantly speak that into their minds. I don’t call them much cause it’s so negative. 😊
Kevin O’Leary makes the case that his female CEOS predict lower sales numbers but are more accurate, his Male CEOs were much more aggressive in their predictions but much more likely to miss them by wide amounts or blow them out of the park.
My husband knows I'm better and often says "I don't know where I'd be if you hadn't handled our finances". I respond, "You'd be broke, but have way more fun,"
Men are more interested in managing their investments because women are already super busy managing their families' health. We balance each other out. I'm making sure my husband and I live long healthy lives, while he's making sure there's plenty of money to live on during that long healthy life.
Both me and wife are pretty frugal...she is more than I am so I would give nod to women over men in regards to being frugal in general. Now women do have more upkeep cost than guys but guys can offset that easily with hobbies that can get expensive.
@@bluebelle9572 it's pretty great instead of driving sometimes 50+ mins for something I actually need I'll get in a day or two and didn't have to waist any time in the car or gas.
I am new to the stock market. Every stock that I bought so far, I was out of luck because I bought them when they were expensive. I feel I missed out on all the stock opportunities so far for the tech stocks.I believe having 175K yearly income would be a good investment so I want to plug all my savings into the stock market. I know this sounds a bit dull but I would like to know if I should learn investing or let somebody else (more capable like a FA) do it for me? Please share your thoughts. I am kind of tired of searching for a good stock to buy and losing all the good opportunities.
Just simply based on seeing how my parents and other people at my El Paso Hispanic church handle money…Women handle money better than the men. 🤷🏽♀️ Generally the women in my community are more receptive to being told to stay in a budget and live on less than you make.
I feel like this episode was off. George seemed really nervous and interrupted too much. I didn’t love how he stereotyped “grunty” men- and I’m a woman! Usually I love the podcast, but this one felt different.
Episode was okay, but I truthfully would like to see this topic covered /not/ in front of a live audience. I got the sense that the games and the 'defend the other gender' bit were done primarily to engage and entertain the crowd. The information shared in the voting game could've been covered in 2 minutes worth of a normal episode and then you could've covered more topics and dug into more data. Looking forward to the next one though! Still definitely my favorite Ramsey show.
Dave Ramsey himself by his own admission didn’t allow his own daughter to participate as an executive with financial decision making because she would run the company’s finances to the ground…. If that doesn’t answer the question for you, nothing will.
That's because women buy groceries and household supplies. We also, take the kids shopping for school clothes and we buy Christmas. Men buy Harley Davidson and only fans
They've been broke and have become wealthy, so think it's possible for everyone. It doesn't always work that way, as we know. We don't stink, they are not our final judge in how we handle finances.
Most of Ramsey personalities, including George and Rachel, started from the bottom. These type of videos are for entertainments, not financial advices. If you are looking for that, you are on the wrong channel.
If you are a man with a girlfriend she spends your money so I guess women are better because they can manipulate men into using their money for her. Once he has none left she moves on to another guy. A single guy is probably the best with money.
I don’t care what any of the stats say. I make $200K plus a year and I am pretty sure we would be homeless if I let my wife run the budget, with no retirement. And they are super right about health insurance.

Was there a part of this video that stated your sex determines your outcome? I didn't catch that part.
