I see a lot of people these days who exude a sense of inferiority and shame in being an Indian which is kind of sad. Ngl i thought you would also be one of them, but i was wrong. Everything you said is on point. Especially the colonial past and survival mindset of Indian people which is definitely one of the reasons for stereotypical behaviours of Indians but then again it shouldn't become an excuse or justification for not changing for the better.

I can guarantee, most parts of India would stay the same even after 20 years because even if the people want to change, they can't because of the Crazy Corruption here, You literally can't do any government work without feeding the fat pockets of those greedy government servants.

@@rajeshroy8807 Well you should understand the context of that era. Slavery wasn't practiced in india and megasthenes a foreigner infact confirms it didn't exist. Meanwhile in other societies it was widespread and was as cruel as the caste system. Not to say india doesn't get a blame on it. The ancient caste system as surmised by the Brahmins was not a rigid system as well. Infact a brahmin was a farmer a warrior and a priest all at the same time. Not only that many kshatriyas also became part of saptarishis. Infact most of the saptarishis descend from royalty. There is also king ajatashatru, king divodasa, King janaka and many more in the shrutis who became priests and rishis. Infact many of them are celebrated as great Brahmins. So what I mean to say is that medieval caste system was rigid however there is no evidence to prove that ancient caste system was the same. Megasthenes Buddha mahavira never mentioned rigid caste system in their writings.

But one thing which I can say with surety is that nowadays people believe what influencers tell them. Indeed many foreigners who visit India they travel places and restaurants as told by influencers on youtube. On the contrary if you ask the locals, the story is completely different. That is where the real problem lies. The problem with us is the colonial hangover and obsession with white skin. Yes, discipline should be imparted but as I said earlier, there are too many people.
