Thank you for this introduction to Evelyn Underhill. It let me feel into her writings. Father Thomas Keating's friend Ken Wilber refers to her Mysticism book almost in every work of his where he discusses the path of Waking Up.
Wow this is not a coincidence that you share the same birthday and that your dad’s birthday coincides with her death date. Thank you for recommending her book- I will be getting it. I love her poems.
Thank you Carl. My overarching question as I am to be confirmed an Anglican soon, where do I start seeking Spiritual DIrection on the Contemplative path?
It's not always easy to find a spiritual director/companion who is a good "fit" for you. You can ask your priest for referrals; also check with your local monastery, convent or retreat center. sdiworld.org is another resource for finding spiritual directors. If you participate in a centering prayer or Christian meditation group, other participants might know of (or be!) a contemplative spiritual director. Best of luck on y our search - keep it in your prayers!
Self-righteousness and lack of humility make cultural marxist categorization a tiresome bore and inappropriate bedfellow for transcendent mysticism, in my view.
Fabulous. Really appreciate it. EH has wormed into my soul a little too.
Thank you for the opportunity to learn about Evelyn Underhill and the path of mysticism 🙏

@@Mountain_Spirit You're welcome.
💙 Thanks 💙
I wonder if Evelyn
Was inspired by:
"The One & only
Akashic journalist
Madam: Helena ,
Petrovna, Blavatsky" .💙.
"She uses gendered language, which I hope we can all forgive her for that." Excuse me? That's because there were two genders.
But to read most writing from before 1980, it sounds like there's only one gender. That's what I'm referring to.
God is different in Life for Love. ❤️
