Hahaha 0:20 and I’ve already burst out laughing
Your friends reaction is priceless lol
"Maybe it was made out of wood!"
"Well you wouldn't make it out of wood would you?"
Classic.
That part did make me giggle haha
Evening, Gents. On the 'Subterranean History' page, there is an interesting picture of Shornemead fort with the now collapsed B.O.P. on it's roof, seemingly intact. It doesn't look very high, so laying down might have been the way it was used.
The sea wall infront of the fort was inststed in the early 80s as a measure against flooding from the Thames barrier, i used to ride my dirt bike around there in the 70s/ 80s
How did you get there? The very long walk along the canal? Last time I went the gates by the railway crossing were welded shut.
Used to visit this place as kid in the 1960s. We approached from the canal towpath across the fields of the artillery range, when the Red flag wasn’t flying.
The bases of the WW2 anti aircraft gun emplacements were all intact.
The 19th century “Thames forts the UK’s heritage MOD destruction is vandalism at taxpayers’ expense 😡
