When Sharpe recites the words of 'Over The Hills', its just heartbreaking.
Harris and Hagman were dead by this point weren't they, bless them both.
@@richpurslow3283 Apparently they lived in the books but died on screen.
That young Lad! His acting still makes me tear up!
Incredibly acting!! ❤
Aye. His name is Luke Ward-Wilkinson and it shows just how crowded the acting stage is these days that we haven't really seen much of him.
That boy is worth more than Ten simmersons
Simmerson is a jabroni
That's Mr Buckler.
Im quite lost here, whos the lads father again?
Junior Officers who come under the protection of Sharpe are as safe as New faced, red tunics who beam down with Captain Kirk
Red Coats are the new Red Shirts.
@@otakujoo87or that guy that comes out first wearing speedos before the pyrotechnics and music of the main man in a wrestlmania contest😂
bro this kid could act, hit me in the feels
Comforting a dying junior officer in his last moments and letting him go knowing he did his duty. Now that's soldiering.
that kid deserves an award for the acting in his death scene. stellar performance
Imagine being a 15-year veteran calling a boy of his age, “sir”!?
Welcome to being a Junior Officer. It's weird and it never stops feeling weird.
That’s his style sir
@@gino14even weird is when your older than officer as an junior nco
I did 29 years in the Army, 20 of them as an OR (enlisted for our US friends). It can be a bit strange as a 38 year old with 2 decades of soldiering behind you calling some 21 year old who is 2 weeks out of the Chap Factory 'Sir', but you get used to it.
@@PaddyInf Was there respect from those newly minted officers when it came to the old souls like you? I don't know, a gentlemen's respect for the experience you had?
Yay, a new Sharpe episode!
New Sharpe book April 2, 2024.
New episode? It’s over a decade old ...
At least Sean Bean didn't die in this excellent series 1993-2008.
Sharpe is a character based on the writings of Bernard Cornwell.
spoiler alert
I came here to say the same thing bro.
That's not solidering.
Not for the lack of trying
This show is the reason he dies in everything else
Ive only just realised re-watching this after reading the books, the baggage train at Vitoria is one of the few mentions to events from the books. (mostly becuase the books are mashed together to make the TV show - not in a bad way)
Watching a new Sharpe video while watching the Chiefs vs Ravens AFC title game? Now that's soldiering!
Update - Chiefs being the underdog and winning? Now That's Soldiering!
Watching the Sharpe video while watching the Lions Vs 49ers title game? Now that’s soldiering!
@@MNTennamG i betted on the lions i lost lol
@@arctic_shadow578You are stood down. If we wipe the name we may wipe the shame.
Mr. Buckler, pronounced "Bou-Clare", reminds one of Mrs. Hyacinth Bucket, pronounced "Bouquet" of "Keeping up Appearances" The actress Patricia Routledge DBE is still going strong and looking hale at 94.
the Lady of the House speaking
I think it was actually spelt Beaucleare, as seen on his grave at the end of the film
@@george8812 Quite so, in my experience
Top totty as always....
Uh, where was the the seeking for forgiveness???
What a beauti Beatrice Rosen is.
Sharpe always get the good 1s
Still feel sorry for Fredricks
Still a beautiful woman in 2024
@@Mugdorna too plastic (and old) for me
I love this series.
the young officer seems to be more competent than the officer of the day
When Sharpe says you've done well, you've done well.
Look Sharpe!
Handsome lad boy.
Doing a spoken word version of 'Over the Hills' ala Shatner to sooth a dying kid... That's soldiering.
I wonder if they'll ever do another Sharpe.
I hope today’s BBC and/or Hollywood stay well away from it.
Let us pray not! I would lament the ruin of such a classic by modern sensibilities.
You're better off rewatching the full series and Horatio Hornblower series than hoping for anything modern day can create. You'd be in for a lot of disappointment.
I never saw this one .
Yeah you did.
Is that Barry Shitpeas?
*Beauclaire
Beatrice Rosen is probably the hottest actress from the Sharpe series.
Is the young Ensign Aethelred in The Last Kingdom?
The men called him Dead meat.
I'm 8 days late for this clip. That's not soldering 😬
For missing h-hour, you will be stood down in name, you will fetch and carry. If we wipe the name we may wipe the shame 🧐
This show has such random release timing. Seasons 1-2 1993-1995. Seasons 3-7 2006-2008. I was wondering why Sharpe looked so aged in this clip.
Not quite. They made 2 episode per year starting 1993 until Sharpe's Waterloo in 1997. They made the last two episode a decade later because Cornwell released the Prequel books after the series. They tried to cobble sharpes adventures in india pre commission and the aged sean bean together into a storyline in india.
The British army commissions could be bought if u had the money
It has been proper soldiering, sir.
That kid is way to young for that.
No he's not. He's the perfect age
@@attiepollard7847 i disagree
@@JoaoSoares-rs6ec Then you don't know how young officers could be during the napoleonic era. From 12 up.
@@JoaoSoares-rs6ec you would join as drummer or standard holder from 8 years of age. 12 would be a start of carrying weapons into offence and 14 for officer training ( we all left school at 14 anyway unless off to university, for an apprencticship)
@@highpath4776 still to young to be an officer, specially of that rank.
So, when did harper apologize to sharpe?
Sharpe saw far too many children die during his years at war.

2nd to comment good vid
Just realised this young officer is the second young soldier to pass away after hearing over the hills the first being young Perkins
You really have to appreciate how well a lot of people spoke then. No "like" or "erh" "whatever" - sentences that made sense, imparted information and most importantly spoken with politeness. Sharpe has an argument with a blonde, well 10 years ago that would have ended differently. And I agree a young officer meeting Sharpe is unfortunately going to have a short career.
