    I truly enjoy your videos and watch them multiple times each. Ill wake up and be getting ready for work and be like it's story time. Turn on Misha. And when I get home its the same. Ive always loved history and firearms and you Sir do a great job combining the two.

    Mr. Kalashnikov would be proud of you knowing the history of his design. The AK pattern rifle (Ak-47, AKM, AK-74) is the best there is in my opinion. I swing both ways I own multiple AR-15's and love them but there is something i can't explain about my AK's that makes me love them more.

    I love going back and listening to you talk about the history of various AK derivatives. That being said I think it's interesting that this video is 4 years old and you made a statement about the AK kind of being dead in the dirt when it comes to current manufacturing of it. It does make me wonder how long the platform will stay around in even my own lifetime. It sure doesn't look like Russia is trying to do anything too new seeing as they're basically sticking with the platform but modernizing it. Personally I would not want to see this go by the wayside. It's such a great platform, I'll be it with some modern shortcomings compared with other platforms that have had the opportunity to work around modern optics and tools.

    hey mishaco and the rest of you guys who got underfolder stocks something i've done to my yugo m-70 ab opap underfolder stock butt plate was fix that annoying issue of the little bump stop tab on inside of butt plate that rubs and rattles against the lower hand guard scratching hell out of the finish or denting the wood even by placing a rubber automotive 5/16 inch vacuum port cap cut down a bit shorter on its length and with a few drops of oil inside of it to make slipping on tab easier and helps keeps the rust out too. now shes all tight and no more rattle or scratches

    Excellent vid once again Mishap!! You are absolutely correct. The Maadis and the Romaian SAR-1s are the closest we have ever gotten to having a true Soviet pattern AKM come into the country. Excellent guns!!.

    41:00 Huh, new polymer type ones being cheaper-at least in smaller batches-to produce than the AKM. I never thought about it that way. :)

    What kind of stock set do you have on the AK you're holding in the beginning?

    • @scottdunn2178
      @scottdunn2178 5 лет назад

      Standard Egyptian AKM pattern laminated. The Soviets set up the Egyptian Maadi factory in Cairo in the 1960's as they did in virtually all Soviet Bloc countries (Romania, Poland, Bulgaria, East Germany, etc.). The early Egyptian Maadi AKM rifles are very nice quality compared to the later thumbhole stock junk from the 1990's. Those guns have very rough machining and gloppy painted finishes.
