Nest the bins of similar sizes and tuck the stack in one spot, until you know how many you will need for the next move. That way they will take up very little space. Then the man cave can happen too. Great job! You will get this done before you move again. 👏👏👏👏👏

So happy to find your channel. I’ve been a “simple living” person for at least 15 years. I found books on the Simplicity Movement from the 90’s/early 200’s I guess?, at my library long, long ago. It was a rough time for our family and a huge shift happened around 2008. This was before RUclips and everything today. I love seeing people on the journey today, and this new movement now called “minimalism”. You and your family are so great! I appreciate how real you are and hope others come across your channel! You are a real family, living real life. So many channels don’t show the “nitty gritty” of it all! Best wishes to you and your channel. I think you’re going to inspire a lot of people! Even for this seasoned minimalist, you inspire me to go find stuff to get rid of!

Thank you for being such an inspiration. I am so proud of you for letting go of that green jacket. I was having a hard time doing this and needed inspiration and you popped up on my feed.
My aim today was to reduce my clothes by 50% and I've only reduced it by 1%. Tomorrow i will revisit everything and try again and will do like you did. I will honor the memory or the giver and will release the item for it to have a new 🏡. Thank you both!

I got rid of mine after carrying it around for over 20 years. I have pictures and memories without the jacket that just hung in a closet. I thought for a while maybe I’d use for a Halloween costume because it still fit but I’m not really a Halloween party person. So somebody else was likely Hilary for Halloween because I think that’s what Goodwill does with stuff like that - puts in costume section.

The problem with empty bins is they attract junk. If you have to say "I don't know where to put this" you have to deal with it immediately. Bins let you delay that decision. Same for boxes, baskets and bags.

Good job going through sentimental. I had boxes and boxes. Over the years (except for pictures) I now have 1/2 a photo box full and getting ready to declutter again. All the decor I never put up went a while ago. My husband, on the other hand, has a China cabinet full of stuff displayed in our finished basement. I don’t think he’s looked at it since we first put it up 5 years ago but he doesn’t want to get rid of anything. He has very limited vision and can’t read books but doesn’t want to get rid of the 2 1/2 bookshelves full of his books. Luckily I have downsized to the point we can keep what he wants to keep and it is still not cluttered looking. Your videos are so inspirational. Can’t wait to see how you manage photos. I’m down to 2 1/2 photo boxes from 6 boxes plus 6 huge scrapbooked albums. I enjoyed scrapbooking for 6 years then lost interest. The albums took up enormous space and that is where the best pictures were so that is why I dismantled them. It was an excellent decision for me. I do have a SKYLIGHT electronic photo frame that you email pictures to and that keeps the newest pictures of hubby, me, the grandkids, and extended family available. The only time I look at pictures on my phone is when I’m trying to decide which to declutter. Ha.

I've tossed many pictures a long time ago already and categorized the books to come. 2 books are done from years of a certain period back. However, there are the ones on hard disks, on computers. I would like the books to be in a way, so even future generations can follow and understand, like story books, each from a certain period. Silver will not tarnish if:
      1 used all the time

3 rinsed after meals to get the salt off which will tarnish it

You were saying in your Target trip that the laundry basket you got for under the primary bed didn't fit. Maybe try the empty bins you have. Shop in your home.

We had that exact same clock in my parents house as well. Seems that we have steins, coockoo clocks and that gold clock in common as military families. (Army brat) 😉

Your meetup story touched my heart. My husband and I met on a message board and emailed and phoned (no Skype then) for about 10 months before we met in person. Me in Chicago and him here in Florida.

pssst: jack (?) looked like he might like a Raggedy Andy doll and how fitting ... "Andy." Little Guys have such a short window for comfy huggy pals. Of course, he might be Perfectly Fine without one. I am just enjoying the name synchronicity. : )

I consider myself a minimalist. I do keep cards ( from my husband & children). I date the back of them (if there is no date on the card). They are organized by type...valentines/Mother’s Day/Birthday etc. Each group is tied with its own ribbon. So, valentines day is a red ribbon, Father’s Day is dark blue, as an example. They all fit into a box and are in my hope chest.
***As for the the green jacket. Have you considered cutting a small piece and putting it in a scrap book with other items from your “courtship” time?

    Love your decluttering videos!
I also have ordered the dropps laundry pods and they clean well, BUT every load I have done the pod doesn't dissolve completely and sticks to a article of clothing and turns hard after the dryer.

Phoenix Rising Try putting the drop in the washer first with the water running into the washing machine so it has a chance to dissolve in the water. I use True Earth... same principle but it’s like a small sheet of paper. I love it.
