The orchestral arrangement makes this fugue terrifyingly vast. I love it, especially the moment at 10:12 when, after dark premonitions, the Old One finally hoves into view.
Perfection! To the very last note! I just hate when the ending has a half second of silence that Beethoven did not write before the last chord! Klemperer did it RIGHT!!!!!!
....an interpretation that shows Klemperer and his absolute mastership. I remember a world known singer. When he did work with Klemperer he always spoke about him with great respect and sometimes tears in his eyes. And this was a tough guy on/off stage! RDS
Sublime ! Serene ! Soothing ! Soulful ! and what not ! Delighted to listen to this treat under the baton of the great Otto Klemperer Sahab ! What a wonderful recital it was ! How soulfully did the great Klemperer Sahab conduct it ! He was just incredible ! For me --- listening to the soulful music of Sir Otto Ludwig Von Beethoven, the legend of the legends, is like embarking on an eternal voyage in a dinghy on a moonlit night in a deep blue sea with solitude and a cool breeze to give company ! Such was the wizardry of this great wizard of music ! Those, who have missed it, have missed many things in their lives ! --- Amarendra Borah, Former Commissioner and Secretary, Finance Department, Govt Of Assam (India).
Ancora oggi questa musica atemporale provoca un senso di sgomento e smarrimento in chi la ascolta, figuriamoci negli ascoltatori dell'Ottocento! Qui siamo ai vertici assoluti dell'arte, questo è il giudizio universale della musica
One of the most beautiful pieces of music ever composed, this Große Fuge for violin orchestra. Violent, threatening, but also full of harmony. I discovered this perfomance 30 years ago and still love it! Thank you Beethoven!
I love your enthusiasm for this work - I dared to go a step further and did an orchestration for a full symphony orchestra which I hope you will enjoy: ruclips.net/video/3mO-ghKEECI/видео.html
Ah, the same version I posted back in Feb. 2011, but your post has more "gain", so it's a bit clearer, and more intense. I've had this on vinyl since it was first issued, and then found it on CD a few years ago.
I don't agree, the string orchestra gives a muddy sound in comparison to the clear lines of the string quartet. Those trills in the double basses especially - awful.

❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤I listened to this so much for the past 7 years

Ma l'orchestrazione è stata fatta da Beethoven o da altri?
Buona domanda
This is more effective as a string quartet - more intense and intimate
No it shouldn't be intimate !!! Not at all !
Dude this arrangement rocks!

@@billguyan9626 So you disagree with Beethoven who wrote it for a string quartet.
@@thethikboy Can't you read? Or are you deliberately thick?
Warum so viel hall in der Aufname plötzlich? Macht das ganze nur schlecht...
