Hi Matt ! I'm from France but unfortunately I couldn't go to the show... I just wanted to thank you for your amazing videos and as I am a huge fan of FIR, it's really nice to see a backstage pov. Keep on filming your job, it's amazing and it allows us to learn more about what's going on on the otherside of the stage ! From Dunkirk with love, bisous.
Matt, I really love your videos! As a beginner drummer (almost 6 months in now) im taking huge loads of motiviation out of your pov's which helps a lot to continue this awesome new hobby. Its awesome to see whats going on backstage and how its runned around the show. And Im really really hyped about your pov drumming ofc 😁👍
Zombified crew jam is underrated. The drumming is 🔥 and when the guy sings “Hey, 1-2, Hey!” That line really speaks to me. 😂 Also thanks for the videos. I’m a drummer of 24 years and have been on tour. I know how hard you drum techs work to make lives run smooth. I also do video editing and can see the time and effort that goes into it. Thanks again and I wish you happy holidays!
I went to slipknot 25th Anniversary a few weeks after FIR ! :) Your channel is so addictive ! Always a pleasure to see the backstages of a show, all the work before, and everything ! :) Cheers from France !
Thanks for the awesome content Matt! It gets me so pumped knowing that I'm working in that direction. I'm a photographer and absolutely LOVE shooting live music. I'm aiming for touring full time when the time is right. Love the inspiration of what's to come for me! 🙏
#STFC! As always loving the Steely Dan coming in from the sound check (Good ol' Slang of Ages @ 26:38 ) and absolutely brilliant video, always a good watch :D
Thanks Matt! Another successful show! Great content as always! STF Crew in the HOUSE! Tell Luke his footwork is OFF THE GRID!!! Amazing and inspiring...Stay safe out there...
Man!! My twins and I love falling in reverse and rock out all the time.. and they were so stoked to see them at the WIIL Rock Festival in Grays Lake IL back in Sept 2022. They were on tour with Jelly Roll and Shinedown. The band ultimately did not perform because of a laptop problem, or so was told. The twins were pretty bummed but still was a good festival!
Matt, try pulling the snare weight clip up higher onto the rim, it still holds very well and will give some space between the magnets when hit, maybe, just a theory but it might work lol. Alternatively, your probably right and just need new ones
What an unusual stage design. The lead singer is on a riser in front, the band is behind cut off at the knees and the drummer is in the weeds, separated by a fire wall.
Have you seen them in concert? I have. This is very much Ronnie’s band. He is a great frontman and the stage setup works for him and the vision he wants to present during a live show. They are all great musicians but this is a lead singer oriented show for sure.
Bro Always love your videos on this channel...ALWAYS!!! So much fun behind the scenes which fans like love and appreciate to getting off the tour bus and looking at the backside of arenas to unloaded trucks on the docks to the entrance and building the stage etc. Never gets old and always looking forward to watching every single show. Hell even watching the catering is entertaining and enjoy the different meal preps etc. lol These videos that you post are so entertaining and relaxing for me at the same time and appreciate what you do and the hard work you and the boys do to make these shows happen. Thumbs UP and shared as always. A+++++++
I left my previous band last june. Didn't play live since. I miss that so much. Your videos inspired me to do things right... tuning, building, ocd things lol. Maybe I will find another band soon.
excelente concierto....la bateria sono increible....muy buena afinacion a la tarola...saludos desde veracruz,mexico......feliz navidad y mucho trabajo para el 2025 MATT....
Really wish got to see the Glasgow POV! But hey ho maybe next time, ngl I wasn’t going to FIR Scotland but I was looking forward to your video for it 🤘
@matthorndrums one of your best videos ever. STF. Does Luke play to a click in the playback track? His feet are absolute beast. Silky smooth. As a drummer yourself, You must be in awe watching that every night.
Is it just me, or does anyone else try and guess where Matt is gonna tune the drum by listening too. I'm starting to get where it's pitched too high or low now. Coming for your job, Matt ahaha. STFC.
Hey Matt, got a quick question, how often do you have to tune and replace the kick drum heads? Love the work man, always a good day to watch a tech video!
13:18 so I’ve done enough shows to know that there’s a definite order/priority for load in and out. Does setting up the kit this early cause a problem? Or since the stage isn’t in anyone’s way ATM then it’s not really a problem?
Great video as always. Make sure you check out Drumeo’s interview with Phil Collins. Nic trying to set his dad’s kit up & some funny quotes about tuning!!!
22:30 know this company adlib uk based in Liverpool other band Sam fenders and the courteeeners plus leader download festival they do nearly technicall related
Ok I’m no drum tech or drummer so without getting bashed, could someone tell me what the things that Matt pulls off the rims of the drums when he’s tuning?
Guitarist here. Whenever I have a shot of drums, anywhere i go the fixings are tighter than a nut sack in an ice bath, but here Matt just gently hand tightens them. How often would these come loose during a gig?
Being a person that tunes drums, like, A LOT, is this Tunebot thing worth it? Knowing how to treat your drums and what you expect to hear, does it make your life easier?
It does! Especially when you have to tune them higher or lower depending on the genre. Much quicker. Matt tends to move it around but there is a setting where you don’t have to.
Hey Matt! Have a quick question for you unrelated to the video, but wasn't sure how to contact you. I am a PA announcer, professional DJ, and National Anthem singer here in Indianapolis. I am venturing into the world of shooting videos for a youtube page and maybe other social media outlets. I am about to purchase my first go pro and looking forward to shooting some POV videos while announcing varsity sports here in Indianapolis. Anyway, how do I go about editing the videos once I shoot them? I am completely new to this so would be grateful for any advice you could give me! Thank you so much!

For the Snare Weight issue, it helps to rip out that centre magnet 🧲

You have got to vacuum that rug sometime.
This behind the stage perspective is freaking amazing… no, seriously… 🔥🔥🔥🤘🏼🤘🏼
Zombified crew jam is underrated. The drumming is 🔥 and when the guy sings “Hey, 1-2, Hey!” That line really speaks to me. 😂

best catering i have seen on your channel.
Okay, that dude on the line at catering is an absolute legend. Supreme vibes in that short interaction.

Real talk, Tyler has been crushing it
Hope you had a lot of fun with the family over the holidays Mr.Horn. Now lets start rockin again.
What a great job you have, I love your videos
You guys absolutely rock!
KILLING IT!! Love the videos!!🤘🤘✌
55:02 only in France a forklift backing up would sound like that 🤣
We were there, among the first rows, and it was insane. Thanks for all the hard work you guys put into it!!
What band is it?
Great to see Paris
Great vid as always! Love his cymbal work at 51:35. I wonder how well that comes through at FOH.
Paris was insane! One of the best shows of the tour! 2025 should be crazy!
"Please Turn On CC"
My brain: "I'll turn Cc on for you - but that is it."
love seeing backstage at these Arena's. I've seen shows at a lot of these venues. Hope you'll do a video in Dublin!
UK and Ireland shows were cancelled “postponed” unfortunately. Was looking forward to seeing the 3 Arena backstage.
You do read your comments! A little foh! Thanks Matt and Merry Christmas!
I notice the same truck was in Switzerland, Germany and now France. Good way for equipment to be moved around
Matt, try pulling the snare weight clip up higher onto the rim, it still holds very well and will give some space between the magnets when hit, maybe, just a theory but it might work lol. Alternatively, your probably right and just need new ones
Intro is awesome
love your content from paris !!!! please keep going the video : )
What an unusual stage design. The lead singer is on a riser in front, the band is behind cut off at the knees and the drummer is in the weeds, separated by a fire wall.
I always thought it was weird they but one of the best drummers in modern metal (Luke Holland) behind the big ass wall of fire lol
Have you seen them in concert? I have. This is very much Ronnie’s band. He is a great frontman and the stage setup works for him and the vision he wants to present during a live show. They are all great musicians but this is a lead singer oriented show for sure.
Looks rad out front.
@@bennyF52 What an ego trip if that"s true.
Ronnie's band

Let’s go baby!!!!
Really wish got to see the Glasgow POV! But hey ho maybe next time, ngl I wasn’t going to FIR Scotland but I was looking forward to your video for it 🤘
"Rogue Hands." Would be a great song/band/album name.
Start 2 Finish Krew 🤙
You should try Drops for your snare and tom weights, made by Tandem Percussion. They don't flip up and they make the drum sound awesome!
Hawk Tuah? Nah, I prefer Hey One Two! Hope you had a great Christmas and have a happy new year!
awesome video once again but just an idee, might want to add a seasure warning for the lightshow.
@matthorndrums one of your best videos ever. STF. Does Luke play to a click in the playback track? His feet are absolute beast. Silky smooth. As a drummer yourself, You must be in awe watching that every night.
Whoa 😳
Is it just me, or does anyone else try and guess where Matt is gonna tune the drum by listening too. I'm starting to get where it's pitched too high or low now. Coming for your job, Matt ahaha. STFC.
at 23:52 he says in French: watch out guys, don't get run over, I'm not surprised.
Throw a GoPro on your LD. Us lighting guys want a day in the life
Drum roll got me out of guard🤣
I bet you could fit everything in those ata cases. Why always have the pedals and extras ontop loose? 🤷♂️
Hey Matt, got a quick question, how often do you have to tune and replace the kick drum heads? Love the work man, always a good day to watch a tech video!
I’m using a analog tuning gauge which measures the tension. It never gives a false measurement.
At this point i have a feeling i could do a somewhat decent job teching for luke after watching all of these 😂😂
Sweet
"Do you think you could give good head"?! 😂
#Start2FinishCrew
13:18 so I’ve done enough shows to know that there’s a definite order/priority for load in and out. Does setting up the kit this early cause a problem? Or since the stage isn’t in anyone’s way ATM then it’s not really a problem?
Great video as always. Make sure you check out Drumeo’s interview with Phil Collins. Nic trying to set his dad’s kit up & some funny quotes about tuning!!!
Did you get a new camera? The picture is extraordinarily clear. Great job.
That 18” floor sounds like it belongs on a different kit , probably sounds better in person
I need some decent Fluro tape like you guys have on your flight cases - anybody have recs?
28:27 Crew member vaished after hitting the Drum
23:50 quick nap
that answers why snareweights from luke's video keeps on flying off the snare. anw another from scratch drum build! sheesshh
Thanks for this great video in my country ! A little question : No warm-up kit anymore ? Ho does Luke do without it ?
STF Crew!!!!
i want ask, sir. the plat base of double pedal 9002XF are flat or not? i have it, but the plat base are not flat. forward and backward sides
Matt, question, Can you please show us what you do when setting up the drums in the warm up room?
Hey Matt, what mics are be using on these drums? Specially on TT and FT? Awesome job!! Congrats 👏🏻👏🏻
22:30 know this company adlib uk based in Liverpool other band Sam fenders and the courteeeners plus leader download festival they do nearly technicall related
Curious if you have spare bit and pieces for the drum set up in case something breaks?
Yoshi is good people!!
30:03 is that judith by a perfect circle?
Hey 1-2. Hey. Hey. Heyyyyy 1-2
What’s the note you get on the Tune Bot when you hit the center of the drum versus the edge?
Except for being a hobbit home, french arenas look like every other arena I have been in.
Bercy ❤ France 🇫🇷 ! I'm French. Good Jod your vidéo !
Ok I’m no drum tech or drummer so without getting bashed, could someone tell me what the things that Matt pulls off the rims of the drums when he’s tuning?
@matthorndrums a friend an I have been wondering. Is it "Judith" from A Perfect Circle what you play to test the drums?
44:32 I love how MR. BrightSide was playing in the Background. could have been one of my favorites to play on Drums.
Does it matter whether or not you play the side with the black circle or not? Seems like thats the playing side but i dont really know now lol
Is Luke's kit a dw collector's?
STF CREW!
#STFC Where is the next show or are you guys done for the holidays?
Hey Matt any news when you guys are coming back to do the Dublin show. It's been ages and no news
Guitarist here. Whenever I have a shot of drums, anywhere i go the fixings are tighter than a nut sack in an ice bath, but here Matt just gently hand tightens them. How often would these come loose during a gig?
I see FIR are touring Australia next year. Are you coming down under as well?
I don't move my drum tuner around like that.??? It tunes fine but I have the studio version..
STFC!!! crashes for hi-hats
