• CNJ 113 - 250th Anthra...
Late in the fall of 2018, Central Penn Rail Productions revisits Schuylkill County to witness the mighty Central Railroad of New Jersey 0-6-0 switcher pull the annual Santa Trains between Schuylkill Haven and Minersville. This present-day Reading & Northern regional railroad route follows the Railroad Company's core path into Pennsylvania's rich anthracite region. CNJ 113 is dressed in special banner and number plate denoting 250 years of industrial anthracite use, upon which this region was built and thrived. You will hear two whistles in this video: a L&NE 3-chime and CNJ 3-chime.

A warm fall season with lots of rain contributed to a later drop in the leaves, challenging the train's grip on the rails; nevertheless, we took advantage of the misty, overcast weather to explore some unique angles along the line.

Impressive videography!
Thanks a lot!
No problem!
Nicely done. You have a good eye for shot composition.
Thanks!
Is the whistle on the locomotive from a Southern Ps-4?
Because the whistle looks like it's constructed with a top-lever.
In the description, it says 113 had a Lehigh and New England 3 Chime "Steamboat" whistle.
@@regularguy7266 reminds of 819, 734, 1522 and 2716.
@@brianfalzon6739 yes, all lower pitched, baritone whistles.
Wow... very very nice!!!
Thank you!
Wow! The camera work is amazing.
Thanks!

that whistle!
Awesome video do you know what whistle that was in the first clip, the deep one ?
Yeah what is that whistle?
I knew there would be a diesel pusher... oh well.
Diesel isn’t there to push. It’s there to lead the train south from Minersville to exclude the need of shoving with the 113
