I find a bowl that a little bigger then the shape fill the bowl with the putty then press my piece in that way it gives you a flat bottom to use resin etc in.

Thanks! I made these for clay shapes, but will try resin too. I can always make another.

The first time I used this it freaked me out when it stuck to everything but I found out like you I shouldn't have worried. I did find to use it as a resin mold it works better if you make it bigger than the object that you are molding. Like the star fish you molded go back and fill in the spaces in between the arms to act as a strength for the mold. I hope that makes sense.

Oh I needed to hear that! Glad I am not the only one who worried. I do plan on using this mainly for clay, it will also try with resin and see if this one works. I can always make another! ❤️

@@ACoastalMagnolia I’ll keep an eye out for your video when you use it for clay. I haven’t worked much with that so I’m curious to see how well it works with clay. It works really well with resin so I’m sure you will have good luck with clay also. 😊

i recently watched the guy who does all the resin experiments mix corn starch with the two parts of resin... I tried it..made my own putty and it worked.. if interested to see that I will try and dig it up for you...

Wonder if you could use cornstarch on the mold when using clay?

I would think if you wanted to do resin in them, you would need to roll out area and thick enough to do imprint because how you are doing it, it's not level and resin wouldn't work in it.
