I like to wind down the door windows first just to be sure, that I won't break them by accident. Also it happpened to me a few times, that I forgot to unplug the cable for heated back window :) Just wanted to leave this comment for the rest of clumsy people like me
Thank you sir who has Joe Swansons voice. Very good explanation!!
Hi, really informative video, thanks! I have an NB2 from 2001, I had to take the hard top off recently for some bodywork repair and after I put it back on the car (first time I've ever done this) I've been hearing a lot of horrible squeaks when I'm driving. I think the noise is coming from the front left of the hard top where it joins the windscreen. Anyway, I was wondering if you have a video of how to put a hardtop on correctly so that it is securely fastened? Many thanks!
Great video. Keep up the content!
just got a hardtop last night- opened the chrome latches in the back and the frankenstein bolts are so far away from the cleats. there’s no way i can adjust them to grab under the frankenstein bolt. the two adjustable bolts seem too small and just rattle around in their holes! im stumped
Is it a factory hard top or aftermarket?
Did you have the front latches adjusted and latched up?
@@MiataMan it’s an oem hardtop. i discovered the nuts are missing for the bolts inside the chrome latches, that’s why they’re rattling around. i didn’t know the front latches could be adjusted! i’ll try that next and see if i can get the brackets closer to the frankenstein bolts
my q is i have a 2007 power retractable hardtop if for some bad reason if my top is down and i cant get it closed how do i do it by hand it works great just wondering god bless
Hi James, www.miatanet.com has some detailed info on the PRHT.
Best wishes,
Pete.
Can a hard top sit on the car without the side hardware?
Hi Jason, the hard top will still sit on the car without the side striker plates.
You have to have the Frankenstein bolts at the rear though.
Hey i was wondering if you had any videos of replacing the door seals on a hard top. just got one and they are trashed!
Punished 3achary I can make that one for you 👍
@@MiataMan that would be really cool! Mine are already down to the fiber glass jusy waiting on the kit to show up!
Where can I get an 08 NC hardtop? Been looking everywhere.
A video taking it off by yourself would be nice.
I need to find a hardtop for my na
Hi Tim, let us know that colour you need and maybe one of the viewers has one.
Ill take any color bc i got to repaint it anyways bc when I got it he miata was already painted very poorly.
just got mine and figuring out how to get fitment figured out.... pretty rattley
I would adjust the cleats inside the chrome “deck locks” that grab on to the Frankenstein bolts.
You can also adjust all four of the latches to get the clamping power firm and even on all four points.
Be careful not to clamp them too hard.
Love the content my dude! I made sure to subscribe! Any chance you could let me know what you think of mine??
