Growing up as a Liverpool fan, I've had enough stick from United fans when they were winning title after title, while we struggled to get top 4. I'm enjoying every second.
Theres a huge difference though which is quite obvious as a neutral, Liverpool fans have a personal hate towards united and there fans, With united fans it seems to be just banter. This is from personal experience.

I feel like people only look at how much United have spent. Not how they spend it.
Look at Antony for example. He was never ever worth 100 mil but for some reason, we managed to buy him for that price. We did that because the board and owners couldn’t get the deal done when he was worth 50 mil.
Sancho is another case where it took us nearly two years to sign and it was still for 70 mil. The board and The Glazers are a joke. I’m not even talking about the wages these terrible players get and our facilities and stadium

It doesn't suit their narrative in the end. Scratching deeper than surface level they'll find that the problems at the club run deep and from the top down. Doing that would require some research and critical thinking though, and it wouldn't get as many clicks, so who cares.

I hate that were treating this as manu fans are just complaining about being 7th, when it couldn't be further from the truth. We've been protesting the glazers since 2005 and the way the club is going, maybe you could of argued the complaints were about that in 2014/15, but its not anymore. We dint win a single trophy under ole, but most of us enjoyed the time, cause we played fun fun football, he was only sacked when it got really really bad.
For me its not about trophies, id be happy being 8th for 3 years in a row, no europe, no cups if i thought it would set the club in a direction of being an actual football club, with vision, a style, and intention, rather then a cash cow that the glazers milk dry every year. Id take not winning the league the next 20 years if I enjoyed watching the football, but weve been playing survival football this entire year and arguably since rangnick. I've not enjoyed a single game this year, its only been stress.
You wanna celebrate uniteds downfall, then thats cool, if city/chelsea get relegated for ffp, i'll be cheering so it would be hypocritical of me to say otherwise, but lets not paint it that were unhappy cause we dont win all the time, were unhappy cause we think the club is going down the shitter and were scared of wt will happen if it keeps going this way.

As a Newcastle fan I’ve definitely been hurt by United multiple times but Lewis just needs to settle down. Literally every club in the prem has had times like United are going through.
